Re: Review: SEGA AGES Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - A Fantastic Game, But Who Hasn't Played It By Now?

@Moroboshi876 You also get HD Rumble and Knuckles. I don’t regret my purchase.

@OdnetninAges Yes. Its not my imagination. I wished they had taken more care into it. I don’t even like the font, borders, or much of anything they’ve done for that collection. The whole thing felt kind of cheap, and then the exclusion of the Wonder Boy games... I should have researched more before buying it, and I shouldn’t have bought it digitally. What made me madder is when I wrote Sega and they gave me a flat, copy and paste response saying they’ve fixed it. Its also hard for me to play Mario games with others with the Switch online service. NES, SNES and Super Mario Maker 2. I don’t know how these people can release stuff with input lag. I get so frustrated playing games I mastered when I was a kid, that I just stop trying.

I went ahead and got it, though I really didn’t need it. Knuckles was the selling point, as he isn’t in the 3DS version. I’ve so far loved this version, it plays and performs smoothly, and being able to play as Knuckles again was a nice touch. I too was surprised by the HD Rumble, and now wished it was in the Ages version of Sonic 1. The Genesis Collection on Switch, for me, also has some bad input lag. Docked and undocked. I found the Sonic games almost unenjoyable. I just can’t play Sonic or Mario like that. I’ve almost deleted the collection, but I hate throwing away money, and I guess it isn’t a big deal for games like Phantasy Star.

Japan. I like the fun style and composition. It made my eyes light up and I chuckled inside. Its almost deceiving, as you think you’re about to try a fun and upbeat video game... when in reality you’re plunging into an impossible darkness, where you’ll need to get the knife.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Are Both Coming To Switch On The Same Day

@sleepinglion What really gets me is they’ve had all this time to fix it, and they haven’t. I even emailed Sega last year, complaining. The reply was very automated and impersonal. I tried to introduce my fiancé to classic Sonic, as she never played it. She had a terrible time on the Genesis Collection, and I had a terrible time watching. Switched over to Sonic Mania... night and day difference. We had a blast. It wasn’t all in my head. Haven’t touched the Collection since.

Re: Switch Named Most Fragile Product Of The Year By French Consumer's Association

I had to mail all four of my joycons to Nintendo, and I was stuck using my pro controller for about 3 months. They sent back my controllers, with my left blue and right red being completely replaced, and my left red and right blue being the same. The right blue has a slight lump, like the plastic was bent or not put together right. Its barely noticeable, but I definitely notice it when I rub my hand across a joycon grip or across my switch. It isn’t flush and smooth. Recently while playing Mario Maker 2, I experienced drift starting to happen again with the left red and right bumpy blue. So far I’m okay, and maybe it was a fluke... I keep the mint controllers put away.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Switch Online Users To Check Out F-Zero And Other Classic SNES Titles

Hopefully next update will be a solid 10 or 20 games. I ran through Zelda ALttP before Link’s Awakening came out, and then I helped a friend through Kirby 3. That was it. Haven’t even found myself dying to play Demons Crest and Super Metroid. Maybe I played all this way too much on Wii U and 3DS over the years. I personally find myself more interested in the newer games. I actually didn’t realize three months passed since it launched, until NintendoLife said something. Between work and newer games, I just barely dive into anything retro anymore. If I was someone who only has a few games and mainly played retro, bought into the service just for it, I’d probably be very frustrated by now.

Re: Castlevania's Harder Arcade Version Is Coming To Nintendo Switch Tomorrow

VR32X

Not to be a double dip Debbie downer, but if this had came out long before the Anniversary Collection, I would have been more inclined to buy it. I’m super content with the original Castlevania that I know and love. This may not be different enough to intrigue me. For what is this arcade variation? For 12 or so more dollars, you can have a miserable little pile of extra Castlevania games.

Re: Feature: "Nintendo Killed My Son!" - Pulling Apart A Tragic Headline More Than Two Decades On

VR32X

Bobby Ellsworth from Overkill suffered a focal seizure in Germany in June 2002, right in the middle of the song "Necroshine". Ellsworth commented, "The beauty of a stroke is that you don’t remember. I don’t know what it changed, because I forget how it used to be (laughs). Occasionally I piss my pants when somebody turns a microwave on (laughs). I’m riding my motorcycle. I still swim, I work out. The idea is that when you have a problem, there’s two ways to look at it – you can live in the problem or you can live through the problem. For me, I just lived through it. I thought very soon afterwards if it had actually killed me, I said 'Wouldn’t it be something to die in the middle of an Overkill show?' (laughs)."

Taken from wikipedia. But this is life. It can happen to anybody at any time. He’s been a metal singer since the early 80s. So something similar happens to somebody playing Nintendo, whether they’re a kid or been playing for years. Its tragic, but... what can you do?

Re: This Super Mario Bros. Fan Game Will Fire Up Your Super Show Nostalgia

VR32X

I love this. Very curious how the Super Mario World cartoon will be once he gets to it. LOL! No, hopefully Nintendo won’t bother him. As long as he isn’t providing links and stuff for everybody to play it. If anything, hope they hire or commission him for something... like uh, er... A Zelda 2 remake done in the style of the cartoon!

Re: Feature: 10 Strangest Moments In Captain N: The Game Master

VR32X

I have this boxed set. Quest for the Potion of Power is my favorite episode. Better get a shot glass ready for some adult jokes slithered in. Like when King Hippo shouts “I’ll toss your salad!” Or the episode where a biblical reference was made to King Solomon where Princess Lana suggested something to be cut in half.

Re: Video: Unboxing Zelda: Link's Awakening Dreamer Edition (AKA: The Less Exciting One)

VR32X

I have this edition. This is a video, seriously? I was like, “Wow! Nice book! Hey it shows how they watered down the artwork! The game case has a different back to it like Breath of the Wild! Nothing in the case but the game! Reverse artwork though! Not a reverse classic cover like Samus Returns or anything neat though.” And that was it. The book is extremely nice, but some of the art in it is way better than what made it into the game. I mean, I like the new style at face value, but once you see some of those drawings... you start to scratch your head.

Sorry if I’m negative, I just appreciate skill and hardwork from other artists. Nintendo has raised the bar over the years, and it drives me crazy seeing how they had a well drawn character get simpler; and simpler... However. The game itself though runs beautifully and I’m having a blast. I love the dungeon making aspect so far.

EDIT: Oh! And the amiibo is definitely worth it. You get to put Shadow Link in your dungeon, and he shows up in the assigned room. Then he’ll chase Link through the rooms until you defeat him. He’s pretty tough and annoying. You essentially place a SA-X in your dungeon to torment your guests. Lol

Re: Mega Man Producer Reconfirms The Next Major Entry In The Series Is On The Way

VR32X

I enjoyed Mega Man 11. I paid too much for the Anniversary Edition with the amiibo, stickers, etc. It was good! Difficulty was spot on... not sure how I felt about the Wily Stages. Or the lack thereof?

My three favorite Mega Man games are 3 (NES), 5 (SGB), and X (SNES.) It didn't dethrone those. It needed a harder, more bumping soundtrack too. Maybe 12 will be awesome!
