As you'll know if you visited the site yesterday, Europe got an amazing limited edition version of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
North America got a limited edition package too, but it's not quite as tasty. The Dreamer Edition is still worth a look though, and Zion has unboxed it for your viewing pleasure - along with some other Zelda-related goodies, like that adorable amiibo. Enjoy!

My dreamers edition came in from Amazon and the corners are kind of dinged up and bent. Wondering if I should call them back maybe get a discount or something. Might go grab the amiibo though. Will be my first amiibo ever
Yea my dreamer edition box was a little dented too @NintendoByNature. But i went ahead and had a custom game protector made by Video Game Authority.
I'd prefer this dreamer edition over our "european". Didn't like how steelbooks looks, ss cheaper version would be admirable.
Zion if you aren't feeling the artbook I will trade you a kidney for it.
I really don't understand why they feel the need to give less packed versions of limited editions like this over other regions. That said, steelbooks are very overrated anyway if you ask me.
I couldn't even get this edition so I had to settle for standard. It's been a while since I did that for a Zelda game.
Gee, thanks for nothing, NOA for giving us the inferior collector's edition
@BarefootBowser @CurryPowderKeg79 yea it blows for sure. This was the first ever limited edition i preordered so it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not that bad really, but still I'm paying $20 more for this edition considering I could've gotten just got game at Wal-Mart for $50. It's only the cardboard box it came in,i haven't looked at the game case and book yet though. So we'll see how bad that is before i contact Amazon.
I swear, Nintendo somehow captured, perfected, and then packed in that fresh new game smell into this. I haven’t smelled that brand new game smell in so long but between the game itself and the smell I got a Heavy heavy heavy dose of nostalgia. Currently juggling Zelda and Ni No Kuni and I’m loving every second of both.
@Indielink I'm actually pretty into it! Sorry to make you keep your kidney!
@Ziondood I could probably part with half my liver for that collection on the wall behind you.
Actually, how about a video some time where you show off some of your collection? Looks like you've got some good stuff there, would be interesting to see it.
@NintendoByNature I know how that feels, Amazon's packaging is absolutely awful! I've had to return numerous books last year because they arrived damaged. Twice this year they sent me empty bags, one of which had been opened. The item was missing. They're really terrible at making sure their products arrived in good condition.
@Aquamine-Amarine I hear you on that. Might just call then and see what they'll toss me. Maybe a credit or something
I preordered my dreamer edition from Walmart, and yesterday I checked the status and it said preparing order. I start getting worried and contacted customer support. The guy told me the shipment had been lost and offered to cancel so I could buy it again when it was back in stock, I told him it was a limited edition and there was no telling if they'd ever make more. He said it might go through in the next 48 hours if I waited and gave me $25 for the late shipping. Later in the day it arrived without any update in the shipping status. I went from being worried I'd never get the dreamer edition, to getting $25 for free, so yeah...
I would have gotten it if it had a steelbook.
Happy with The More Exciting One (o:
(Got the message that Nintendo has cut Europe's share of collectors...)
I have this edition. This is a video, seriously? I was like, “Wow! Nice book! Hey it shows how they watered down the artwork! The game case has a different back to it like Breath of the Wild! Nothing in the case but the game! Reverse artwork though! Not a reverse classic cover like Samus Returns or anything neat though.” And that was it. The book is extremely nice, but some of the art in it is way better than what made it into the game. I mean, I like the new style at face value, but once you see some of those drawings... you start to scratch your head.
Sorry if I’m negative, I just appreciate skill and hardwork from other artists. Nintendo has raised the bar over the years, and it drives me crazy seeing how they had a well drawn character get simpler; and simpler... However. The game itself though runs beautifully and I’m having a blast. I love the dungeon making aspect so far.
EDIT: Oh! And the amiibo is definitely worth it. You get to put Shadow Link in your dungeon, and he shows up in the assigned room. Then he’ll chase Link through the rooms until you defeat him. He’s pretty tough and annoying. You essentially place a SA-X in your dungeon to torment your guests. Lol
@NintendoByNature Unfortunately Amazon often does a very poor job packing items for shipment, resulting in crushed game boxes, bent book corners, etc.. It's annoying with limited editions because it's often impossible to get a replacement. If it's still in stock (much more likely with non-limited editions) you can usually return it for a replacement. Other companies seem to do a much better job packing, but they don't offer Free Prime Shipping...
@VR32X You always get that in every video game and movie, though. Artists' sketches and development art are very often cooler than what you actually see in the game or the movie. A lot of it's because at that point they are working on the art AS art. Things are always simplified and cleaned up in actual production.
I have a lot of art books, including a couple from the LOZ series, and there's always stuff in there that makes you go "why isn't this in the game?!?"
Feel sorry for you Zelda fans and collectors on the other side of the pond -I got my regular and limited edition on the 20th and I must admit the dreamer edition wouldn't have done it for me
Got my Dreamer collection on launch day. The Art book is quite nice but the quality is nowhere near the 200pages Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that I have. Its just low density glossy paper while the Xenoblade 2 spots a high density glossy paper which is super nice.
Yup, I am a bit disappointed.
@Ooccoo_Jr Ooo, I would love to do something like that! I have some pretty strange stuff in the collection, and some of the stories that go along with them might be fun to tell 😂
