Re: There's "No Clear Timeline" For Kirby's Game Stories, According To HAL Laboratory's General Director

VR32X

I actually wished they never released a timeline for Zelda. Speculation and each game being its own thing was part of the fun. Its all legends anyhow. A little continuity here and there is okay, but Nintendo games don’t need to be like Marvel comics. To me Kirby is just a fun and cute game. I never asked myself as a kid where Dreamland 1& 2, and Adventure all tied into one another. They were just games, and I loved them anyway.

The fact they were kind enough to give us Radical Rescue on top of all that amazingness just blows me away. I hope they add online play to more of the games. Day one purchase for me! This is my childhood in half shell!

The only thing better Konami can do now is bring back Kojima and give us lots of Metal Gear. Oh and let Collectorvision do the new Goemon game that they’re wanting to do. Lol

I’m a gamer. I mean, here I am on NintendoLife obviously. I get overly critical of myself when I put too much time behind a screen. I know I could have better motor skills if I was away from some of this stuff, and if I played less as a kid. I love video games, but too much of a good thing or a fun thing is bad. When I was in the Air Force, I came across this one dude who couldn’t even tie a sandbag. Theres more I could say about him, but it isn’t NintendoLife friendly. I don’t know how he got through basic training, and the idea of him working on aircraft that carried human lives on it was a bit worrying. If you’re going to pursue a military career, and lifestyle, you gotta get off the couch, and not only physically be in gear, but mentally prepared for lots of changes. From observation, most non-gaming people I served with (not all, obviously,) were harder workers and cared more about physical fitness and progressing in their careers. More people with gaming/nerd habits went through the motions, or failed PT tests, or were unhappy. This is based on my personal life experience and what I observed. Not saying gaming is the Devil and it makes people weak, some people can balance it, but there is maybe a lifestyle thing going on that certainly affects that transition into military culture.

Re: Video Game History Foundation Calls Out Nintendo's "Destructive" 3DS & Wii U eShop Closure

@jsty3105 In America they stopped last year… they actually didn’t send my labels and what I needed before their deadline, or the link to pay. I was ready to fork up over a hundred bucks to get it fixed, and they duped me. I miss enjoying my 3DS. I was dying to replay Samus Returns before Dread and couldn’t. I especially love all my Gameboy games on it, which aren’t on Switch. Kinda hard to play any of them without an A button.

UPDATE: Nintendo service rep actually sent me shipping labels this time! Full service repair! They said if my 3DS couldn’t be repaired, they had another Silver XL edition they could transfer everything to! It cost me over $100 but its a miracle!!!

Re: Video Game History Foundation Calls Out Nintendo's "Destructive" 3DS & Wii U eShop Closure

I just wish Nintendo would repair the 3DS and Wii U. I have big collections on both of mine, and I’m finding it difficult to go back and enjoy certain titles when I feel the desire. My A button doesn’t work on my silver Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate N3DSXL, for instance, and its loaded with legally purchased games and themes. Nobody will repair it. Not even local console repair shops. They said its a motherboard issue, and to get a new 3DS and transfer everything. 3DS costs as much as a Switch or way more if I find one. Even a plain one. Should I shell out half a grand for another handheld that will inevitably fail? That Nintendo won’t repair? With a shut down eShop? Thanks for the memories. I guess I’ll play all my GameBoy games elsewhere, if you know what I mean.

Re: Feature: "NCL Has Been Waiting For This Day Since 2014" - Former NOA Employee Talks Nintendo eShop Closures

I feel stupid for how much I bought on Wii U and 3DS. Both of my consoles have problems now, that Nintendo won’t repair. I bought entirely too much on my Switch, but its hard not to. I’m hoping they support and repair the console for a long, long time. I hope the Switch’s successor is backwards compatible. Its just a fact of life, just like having a car, nothing lasts forever, parts break or wear down. Life is ever moving and every game or item bought is an investment that can be lost.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise Has A Collab With Universal Studios Japan, As Sunbreak Teases Continue

@CairiB Also, take time to kill smaller monsters, bring poison smoke bombs for insects so you don’t destroy them before you can carve them, explore the areas and find out where certain endemic life resides, so you can gather what you need quickly for certain hunts. Before each hunt, you can also check out what other surges or critters will be out in that area on the quest page. Based on what you need. You can also check your hunter notes to see what monsters are weak to and what they drop. Bringing certain little things like flash and sonic bombs, and using them at the right time on certain monsters, can be very effective too.

Re: Review: Light Crusader (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)

VR32X

Just played this game for the first time in over 20 years on my Genesis collection. I realized it was very similar to Diablo, and I wanted to see if I was the only one who drew that comparison. I see this game isn’t talked about among players very much either. Great review!

Re: Unlock A Special Mario Party Superstars Theme In Tetris 99 Later This Week

VR32X

I probably won’t win. But I’ll be there. Got every Tetris 99 theme, but I never win. I really hope Superstars gets some DLC soon or a massive update. Its excellent, but not enough there. Just my opinion though. My wife and I put 30 hours into it, and I’m level 99, and I’m pretty sure I’ve played every board and mini game several times.

Re: Konami's Castlevania And Contra Collections Just $5 Each In Cyber Switch Sale

VR32X

Time for a classic Metal Gear Collection, with the MSX and NES games, along with Ghost Babel! If only… Lol. I have all these games offered, even Skelattack. Which has charm at first, but the constant instant death shoved at you in the game, with ridiculous Mega Man X wall jumping killed it for me. I grabbed Contra Rogue Corps while it was super cheap last time, but I haven’t found time to really try it. The main game I play on the Anniversary Collection is Gradius 2. And I love all the Castlevania stuff… I wanna love Bomberman R, I got it at launch and even beat the story. The online is either dead, or hit or miss…
