I haven't played Splatoon 2 since Nintendo started charging for online... But this might just get me to pay out for a months worth of access.
For me nothing beats the hype of the first Mayo vs Ketchup Splatfest, but i am really excited for this one!

The fact that people could google it isn't the issue.
The issue is how downright lazy with the Nintendo Switch Online service. Not only do the west only get 2 games to japans 3, but they can't even be bothered to upload the manuals along with it. Even when the manuals become key to solving in-game puzzles.
Nintendo deserves all the scorn it gets for its crap service.

I think it will still be announced for Switch. Just with the classic Switch delay!
Either way I'll be getting my copy on PS4 as part of the Odyssey season pass!
I discovered this gem of a game on WiiU (not quite a launch game but close), and haven't looked back since! Its become one of my favourite games of all time and i can't wait for this remaster, it looks beautiful!
Edit: It comes out on March 29th huh? Well at least something good happens that day 😅

AC3 gets a lot of hate but its my favourite game in the franchise and i love it to bits! I'll already be getting it day 1 on PS4 (as part of AC: Odyssey's season pass). But since the price is so low, i may also pick it up on Switch!

I always loved Go Vacation on the Wii so I'll definitely be picking it up, if only for nostalgia.
I have some amazing memories of just running around the open world with my brother in 2 player mode. As for the minigames I always enjoyed what I played so I'll probably see if they hold up to what i remember from 7 years ago!

I loved the presentation- but I love Smash, they could have only shown Smash and I would be perfectly happy and everything else is icing on the cake!

Am I the only one who doesn't want it to be a new game?! I loved Smash 4, it had an amazing roster that I wouldn't want to see reduced, fantastic stages, and perfect gameplay. Between the two versions it was packed full of content it would be a waste to start all over again.
An enhanced port with all the previous characters and new additions, new skins, and combined stages of 3DS and WiiU. Add in a couple more modes (Smash Run HD and maybe a single player campaign) and you've got one of the best games ever made.

Hoping to see Black Panther over the weekend.
And to all the people arguing that 'this isn't news', you would never hear about a celebrity talking about the Wii U or any games from it- ever. The word of mouth spreading info about the Switch is crazy!

Well my £10 won't be going towards Labo, but for a second pair of JoyCon Ive been meaning to pick up for awhile.
I still see £70 as a bit steep for a new controller (I know its technically 2 controllers but still). This £10 off makes the high price point easier to stomach.

@scamander The only problem I have with the USK is their HUGE age ratings that seem to take up an eighth of the box!

Mark Brown and his series Game Makers Toolkit is amazing. He totally manages to hit the nail on the head when discovering how the game is crafted.
I'll be sad that Boss Keys is finished (for now) but excited to see where it can be taken in the future!

A very good Direct imho. Mario Tennis Aces was the true star, but I'm also happy to see DKTF and Payday 2!
Also no one can complain at free DLC for Mario Oddessey.

This was a really i interesting read! Its funny how Western focused much of the Nintendo reporting is (with the obvious exception of Japan). I'd love to know how Nintendo is doing in other continents.
I also wonder how much their expansion into Russia will mirror how Nintendo decides to tackle the chinese market when the time finally comes.

This was my 2016 GotY, I loved every aspect of it on 3DS and was always curious how it held up on the big screen!

At one point I would have thought the more games on the eshop the better, but after the past few weeks I'm changing my stance.
Too many great games have been released (even in the last week) and whilst choice is nice Im begining to feel overwhelmed!
Ive still yet to get SteamWorld Dig 2 and then theres Golf Story, and then this week brings Stardew Valley and Axiom Verge (and thats only the big names). And then in a few weeks we have FE warriors and Mario Oddessey!
I just hope that after christmas it will calm down a bit and i can play through the backlog 😂

@Yosher You hit the nail on the head for me. Its all about value and price. If I want a FIFA game I can walk into CeX and most days find a copy of FIFA 14 or 15 on the PS4 for under 50p. The value of FIFA games drop so fast (especially in the UK where they are so popular) that by this time in a year FIFA 18 on post formats will be at least half the price.
So when I see the Switch version for £55 on the eShop, I can't help but sit back and laugh.

Jeez its this kinda fuss that show how Nintendo fans can be THE WORST.
People who complain about stuff like this are an embarrassment to our community.

I actually prefer the new icon over the old one. In the new one Noodle's cuddly face jumps out the screen at you. Cute and eye catching.
But it is only a icon, the people who are deleting or not updating are just cutting their nose off to spite their face.
And the talk in the comments about Nintendo needing to regulate this sort of logo - ridiculous.

Josh Thomas is trash anyway. Doesn't surprise me he'd pull a stunt like this to try and regain subscribers. I used to watch every one of his videos, but left once he became openly bigoted. Don't need that negativity in my life.

Mixed reaction about this, on the one hand its waaaayyyy better than what they previously said they were offering but I still need to know more about how it works.
If its a streaming service I guess it will always require internet to play, which rules out playing NES games on journeys without any wifi access. It could use Microsofts method of letting you download a certain number of games at a time and offering discounts to fully purchase.
I hope the option to outright buy each game remains simply because I think Nintendo would be leaving money on the table if they didn't. The VC is one of the strongest points of modern Nintendo systems so I'm going to keep waiting for Ninty to announce all the details and hope they don't screw it up.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want a d-pad.
Sure the split buttons are bearable on the joycon as it lets them be split, but on a normal controller ots d-pad all the way!

As for the controller itself its tempting, i still think that the official procontroller is ridiculously overpriced so might pick this one up, although lack of gyro is a bummer.

Hopefully this is another good sign to publishers that the right kind of third party games and a good port will sell on the Switch. Having never played Minecraft before (except from a demo years ago on the 360) i jumped on it as soon as I saw the budget pricepoint and it seems I wasn't the only one. After my first half an hour with the game I could tell why it had become so popular and I have since played hours of it just messing about in creative mode. This may also be the game that pushes me over the edge to finally buy a pro controller as I'd love to try out the multiplayer but you can't use a single joycon (for obvious camra controlling reasons).

@8bit4Life I think if this happens it would have to be a bundle, both TP and WW on the same cartridge. I'd find myself hard pressed to buy them both again (seperately) especially as the Switch version would likely be a downgrade without the second screen support. However if they bundled them I might just pick it up for the option of portability. Also handheld WindWaker would be fantastic!

Just another reason for people to upgrade to Deluxe. I'm glad Nintendo put some thought into the port fixing even the tiny flaws of the original.

Good news for MarioKart 8 Deluxe all around then, with 45% of Switch owners in the US buying it.
Hopefully this will give Nintendo a strong messages that decent ports of their WiiU games will sell!
