Update: For whatever reason the BIGTHANKS code is unfortunately no longer working alongside a purchase of Nintendo Labo. However there are lots of fun things you could buy for your Nintendo Switch such as this lovely 200GB Micro SD card. A bargain at only £59.99 we are sure you will agree!

By now you have probably heard all about Nintendo Labo, if not have you been living under a cardboard box?
With each Nintendo Labo kit, inspired minds across all generations can transform modular sheets of cardboard – specially designed to interact with the Nintendo Switch console and Joy-Con controllers – into interactive creations called Toy-Con. From a piano to a motorbike, a robot and more, each Toy-Con comes to life when combined with the Nintendo Switch in different ways. As you make, you will have fun discovering how the technology works and even invent new ways to play with each Toy-Con.
Of course some folks might be a bit hesitant to drop £59.99 on a bit of cardboard... albeit sturdy well designed cardboard kits along with a companion game. So we have good news for you if you are living in the UK.
For today only (offers ends midnight Thurs 25th Jan) you can save £10 off a £50 order on Amazon UK, using the special code "BIGTHANKS". This will not work for all products on sale at Amazon, however we have tested and you can happily redeem this code on a Nintendo Labo pre-order.
So if you wanted to try out the variety kit, rather than it costing you £59.99, you could pick it up for the more palatable price of £49.99 instead. Should you wish to order the Robot kit, that would be reduced from £69.99 to £59.99.

The small print says it's not valid for video game pre-orders, but it DOES 100% work on Labo and it did work on the SNES Mini (Amazon are now out of stock and the price has rocketed again). It doesn't work on Bayonetta 2 though for example (even if you top up the value). A sub £50 pro controller is not a bad shout though, or maybe a microSD card?
Does not ship to Germany...
@Curlynob Real shame that it doesn't work for games that are on pre-order.
Tried it myself and it doesn't work
>Amazon gives a one-day £10 discount.
>NL finds a way to make yet another post about Labo.
All is well with the world.
@RazumikhinPG Actually I wanted to preorder Labo and have nothing else to buy on amazon at the moment. So I'm getting it!!!
Thanks NintendoLife, pre ordered now!!, I was holding out for Labo till a deal appeared.
I heard that Nintendo Labo is great for people who enjoyed 1 2 Switch, Nintendoland and Wii Music. Hyped!!!!11
Interesting and cool. Glad they are doing this since there's no other savings; Amazon did not honor their pre order discount for Prime members. At least not in the US. I went to order mine through Amazon and the discount was not applied. I can only speculate that they haven't classified the Labo as a game in their system.
I ended up using my Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked. Best Buy honored the discount, which makes sense since they give you a discount on Amiibo as well.
20%. So. Much. Better.
What does the discount have to do with Labo? I mean you could pretty much order anything (with a few exceptions as @Curlynob already pointed out)...
I get the idea, but... I don't know.
@tourjeff Labo is not considered as a video game on amazon. You don't have the 2£ discount when you pre-order it.
Wow thanks! Cancelled my initial pre-order and then reordered it with the code, worked a charm.
...or you could save £50 by not buying hot garbage .
I'm looking forward to Labo battling it out with God of War.
I wonder if Labo sales will be tracked just like video game sales? It's a weird middle ground. Is it a toy, or is it a video game?
I'm sure kids or 'kids at heart' will enjoy it regardless. Not for me.
As my wife so eloquently puts it, "I can't stop you to do lavo thing"
Just cancelled my preorder and reordered. Was happy with £60, but £50 is a solid price 👍🏻
@WolfyWardark
Did the exact same thing. Thanks NL.
I can see some people complaining in the comments that it has nothing to do with Labo. Well, it does. Several people will use this to purchase Labo.
And for those who are not interested, that's absolutely fine. I'm not interested in Kirby for example. The difference is that I don't b*tch about it in the comments section if there's an article about it.
Looks like the code no longer works - EDIT: but the Prime £2 pre-order is now showing up instead
It's not working for me
@WaitroseDad64 Except when we already regularly check NL everyday for news and keep seeing this topic over and over again, it gets boring after a while. Also, you're b*tching.
I had labo on preorder for 59.99, ordered another one using that code and now cancelled the first one. Cheers for this guys!
@RazumikhinPG
I'm only b*tching about people who are b*tching.
I don't say we shouldn't express a negative opinion when we have one. But I don't get how this article is a problem to anyone. It's been useful for me and a few other people who are interested in Labo. The rest should just move on with their lives...
@RickD
I'm falling in that categorie too. And when i showed the presentation video to my wife, she didnt even ask me if i was getting it. I've worked hard to get to that point.
Nintendo Land is one of my favourite couch co-op game of all time. I hope they bring it back someday.
No longer works. The £2 discount for prime isn’t showing either
Code doesn’t work anymore They’ve obviously updated it.
Not working here either
@NintendoLife You guys should update saying it no longer works so people don't needlessly lose their pre-orders.
I'm saving myself 100% on Labo.
It's Lab-No for me I'm afraid, just seems too much like an expensive gimmick even though I do think it's creative. I'm sure it will be a hit though as lots of people (mainly the younger crowd) will want to try it.
Score! I saved myself 100% on cardboard rubbish AND 10 pounds on some blu rays I wanted.

Well my £10 won't be going towards Labo, but for a second pair of JoyCon Ive been meaning to pick up for awhile.
I still see £70 as a bit steep for a new controller (I know its technically 2 controllers but still). This £10 off makes the high price point easier to stomach.
Thank You Amazon
@Fight_Teza_Fight You are flippin' hilarious. In what twisted world would Labo even go up against GoW? Seriously... they don't share the same demographic or system, they are insanely different concepts and honestly, there's room for both.
Just because you have a narrow definition of what video games should be and of the concept 'play' itself... and have a very strong opinion doesn't make Labo hot garbage. It makes it something you don't like... without having even experienced it.
I'm just happy I'm not cold, dead and cynical inside. Already preordered my Labo Set... 20% off through Best Buy. I don't believe in having an inner child... life's too short to keep it trapped inside. I hope you give Labo a chance. If not, I'll play a dirge for innocence lost... on my Labo piano!
@Tsusasi Chill out guy. I was pretty clearly joking- hence the emoji. Might have also missed the last sentence were I recognise it's not for me, but I hope people enjoy it regardless.
Looks to me like your the person that seems 'cold, dead and cynical inside', if you have no problem writing nasty comments on the internet .
Labo vs GoW is a running joke at the moment. Also people can enjoy both Labo and God of War, but you're too open minded to see that .
Hope you have fun with Labo. Different strokes, for different folks.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Hmmm. You kind of just repeated what I said: there's room for both. And to play both. Didn't come off as joking, but not aware of any 'running joke', so missed that. Don't see it as running or even limping. Kind of just a dry statement about two games in april. Not meme worthy or identifiable as humor anyway. But regardless, I hope you get a chance to experience Labo first hand. Idk about GoW though. The series is kind of played out. Hopefully it can inject some excitement and bring something truly new to the ip. It's pretty. Beautiful, really. Just seems like more of the same in a bigger world. Cheers.
If you're after UK gaming deals. Tesco have £5 off £35 and £10 of £75 and £20 off £150 (codes freely published on their site under relevant products). Doom for example is £35 with the code. The Switch console is £259. Switch and Fifa is £279.
And for people in America you can save over $14 on the Labo with GCU
