Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 16th)

Yesterday’s direct got me excited for animal crossing again so I’m heading back to clean up my island and get things ready for the new content! Will also be picking away at Metroid Dread. Metroid is one of my favorite series, up there with Legend of Zelda so I’m really enjoying it! Eastward is another one I’ve gotten into that I’ll certainly get back to at some point. After a little dry spell for me the switch is picking up steam again with Pokémon arceus, botw 2, monhun expansion, and new AC content. Now if I could find an Oled model to swap my OG switch with I’d be in heaven.

Re: Two New Pokémon Revealed In Sword And Shield's 'Final' Trailer

I'm one of those people who think that pokemon was getting bloated so the thought of pokemon being cut down to a few quality picks and then those getting a focus via regional variants or some new evolutions definitely excites me. I'm very much looking forward to this game and to future games if this is their new course.

@Franz learn enemy weaknesses and exploit them like crazy! Knocking enemies down and using an all out attack is gonna be your bread and butter for beating everything including most bosses. Also, for a first playthrough focus on only the social links for the party characters you like to use and then a couple who are your favorites. And don't forget to grind a few levels every once in a while.

I could see this working good single screen on switch. Just hold down a button to blow up the map sorta like hollow Knight and draw stuff with your finger on the touch screen. Then when you are done let go of the bottom and it returns to a smaller size and gameplay resumes instantly.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Isn't Physically Backwards Compatible With 3DS And Wii U Software

TricksterTyler

@rjejr difference there is that Sony has phones, tvs, tablets, ect. that all utilize ps now so they aren't really hurting themselves. Nintendo only has consoles, so if someone could play on a tv or phone or set top box that's not Ninty branded why would they buy a console? Just grab one of those pro controllers and attach it to one of those and go. Now a Nintendo branded streaming box would be interesting, but for my sake and others like me (really poor internet here) I hope it never comes to that or that there is always an option for physical carts.

Re: Hardware Review: Aukey 30000mAh Lightning Power Bank With Quick Charge 3.0

TricksterTyler

@Damo most of LG's phones have a removable battery. Most recently the V20 which I personally prefer over the G5, but to be fair this article isn't about listing all the phones with swappable batteries, it's about the power bank. So with that in mind it's an excellent review and useful for Nintendo fans especially with the onset of mobile Nintendo games. Everyone should own a good power bank!

Re: Feature: Five Franchises That Deserve A Fresh Chance on the Nintendo NX

TricksterTyler

I would like to see some new franchises on NX personally. Don't get me wrong I love all of these games and most of the Nintendo staples but I think Splatoon shows that new franchises would draw more attention to NX than anything that's not called Mario, Smash, Kart, or Zelda. Fact is, those that have gotten franchise fatigue from are more likely to give NX a second look if there are new interesting games that they don't feel like they've experienced before.

Re: Talking Point: Unique and Affordable - Nintendo's NX Needs to Avoid Direct Competition With PlayStation and Xbox

TricksterTyler

As long as the graphics are on par/better than Wii U and the handheld part has a reasonable battery life it'll be fine for me. I play Nintendo games for gameplay and artstyle more than ultra real graphics. Also, question for those more tech savvy than me. If NX does use cartridges could extra chips be included to increase performance similar to SNES games or are cartridges just strictly storage only nowadays?

Re: Poll: Did the 3DS Nintendo Direct Boost Your Hype for the Portable's Line-Up?

TricksterTyler

Woolly World and Mario Maker on 3DS is amazing. New Pikmin on 3DS? Yup, I'll pick that up as well. Ever Oasis looks to be good as well and from a creator of the Mana series no less. Gives me plenty to do while I wait for some good games to hit the NX. After the Wii U I'll be waiting this time around until there are some games I just have to have there. Unless the launch lineup blows me away, then I'm all in.

Edit: Forgot Sports Mix, if the games are indeed more than just "mini games" that would really go over well with me. Haven't been excited for a Mario Sports game since Strikers Charged hit the Wii.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Favourite Super NES Games?

TricksterTyler

Echoing everyone else, there are too many great games on the SNES to pick a top three. Maybe a top 25, but that would still be pushing it. Still waiting for more of these awesome games to become available on 3DS VC. Love having them on that little guy as they don't looked as crappy on it's screen as they do on my cheap flatscreen TV.
