Grezzo huh? Super excited to see these guys rewarded with the opportunity to work on a new Nintendo IP.

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Pokémon Sun and Moon?

TricksterTyler

@sandman89 agreed! I really hope that the island trials and team skull are a much tougher challenge than what we got in X & Y. Or at least have two difficulty levels like FE. Casual could include the updated EXP Share and easier battles and Veteran could have the old EXP Share or none at all and tougher battles.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th August (North America)

@CUBANEWYORKER yeah it's more of a multiplayer game...sorry forgot about Ninty's Wii/DS servers being shut down. The thing about the DSi shop is that for pretty much every game on there there's a version somewhere else or they just aren't value compared to some indie games you can get now. The only other one I can recommend is PiCTOBiTS or the Mario vs Donkey Kong game if you like puzzle games. That's literally the only other games I've ever played DSi ware wise.

@BlueNitrous you "capture" (you don't keep them like in the mainline games) those Pokemon so that you can use there abilities to clear environmental hazards such as putting out fire with a water type or smashing rocks/moving heavy items with a fighting type. You can also use their abilities when attempting to capture other Pokemon.

Edited for spelling

@CUBANEWYORKER there's a shantae game that's DSi ware only I believe. If you're into that sort of thing.

Edit: Just looked it up, it's Shantae: Risky's Revenge, and apparently there's a Director's Cut version out now so you can get it on Wii U or PS4, and X1 I'm assuming.

Re: Gallery: Take a Close Look At All The Latest Pokémon and Features in Pokémon Sun and Moon

Haven't finished a Pokémon game since platinum. Found the Pokémon designs in black and white unappealing. Story was was a huge step forward from what I experienced of it but the game just didn't hold my attention. Played X but couldn't get over the whole "group of friends instead of a rival" and found that it was just super easy. Sure these games aren't meant to be hard by any means but at least make the gym leaders a challenge. These new games really have my attention with the island trials. If the represent a bigger challenge, I'm all for buying into them.

Edit: I've been playing the games since Ruby/Sapphire (which are my favorites based purely on them being my first) so I may just be getting series fatigue.

@liveswired because he's "silly." Says so right in his name.
I suggest those who want it buy it on the platform with the most comfortable controller for them. Reason being, if they get really into it they won't get terrible hand cramps during those long sessions.

Re: Nintendo Is Licensing Hudson Soft IP From Konami

TricksterTyler

@John_Enigma As far as I know that's never happened. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) Nintendo like to do their own thing and create their own IPs around very specific gameplay ideas so they don't really have a use for IPs from other companies. Those IPs usually come with very specific expectations from fans on how they should play, look, and sound and would be hard for new developers to take artistic freedoms with anyway. Just look at the mixed reactions from Metroid Other M or Castlevania Lords of Shadow for example. In this case if what @TheWPCTraveler said is true and there are indeed quite a few Hudson employees in Nd Cube then there may have been a request from them to obtain this IP or Nintendo may be planning to use it for one of their mobile games instead of risking tarnishing one of their own IPs.

Re: Here’s How the Demon Auction Will Work in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker

TricksterTyler

@Yrreiht I'm pretty sure you can play the 2nd one without knowing much about the first one's story. The mechanics are all similar but the story doesn't tie into the first game I don't think. It's been a long time since I played them.
Edit: Basically they took everything in the first game and refined it to make it better and made a whole new story seperate from the first games.

Re: Talking Point: The New Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Network and Wii U Could Point the Way for Future Hardware

TricksterTyler

All I got from this article was lower costs for production which means more risks can be taken with games. If that translates to us getting F-Zero, Metroid, and some other ignored franchises back then I'm all for it. It also allows for more risks to be taken in games instead of sticking with tried and true formulas a la NSMB (which isn't always a bad thing mind but variety in gameplay within a franchise is always good).

Re: Hands On: Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter

TricksterTyler

I'll just use the GamePad or a pro controller...don't really need the clutter and can accept that new consoles mean new controllers to get used to, especially if they're from Nintendo. I really like the gamepad anyway only wish it had analogue triggers but other than that it's awesome.
