My Nintendo in North America is offering some new rewards for its members. The highlight is a physical Platinum and Gold Point Coin Pin Set. You know, the currency you use on the online store to buy various wallpapers and items? Yeah, that.
"Show off your My Nintendo pride with this exclusive pin set featuring a replica Platinum Point coin and Gold Point coin."
These coins will set you back 800 points. Along with this, there are also New Pokémon Snap clear zipper cases up for grabs.
"These colorful cases are perfect for keeping important items in when you’re out in the field and even feature the official seal of the Laboratory of Ecology and Natural Sciences (L.E.N.S.)!"
You can also redeem your Platinum Points for a chance to win a set of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Build-A-Bear Tom Nook and Isabelle - including their new winter outfits:
Would you be interested in your own set of My Nintendo pins? How about a zipper case? Leave a comment down below.

Hopefully, Nintendo made more than 10 of these.
I literally just ordered this along with the Pokemon Snap zipper case, I love my collectible coins.
Neat! Was wondering when they'd make coins
Damn, I just used my points on a silly key chain...
Nintendo needs to invest more into putting in more posters into their rewards program than these silly pins, note books and envelopes IMO
Thanks for the heads up! getting this now!!
Thanks! I snagged mine in a flash.
I would order things if I didn't literally have to pay more than I'd ever pay for these rewards in the shipping fees. $7.95 shipping for a relatively small Bravely Default II poster is highway robbery...
Well, finally a Platinum Coin worth something.
Too bad these fancy rewards are not available in my country.
I just ordered the pins
Definatley picked them up to go with my Mario 35 Set #2 Pins lol. Nice piece to have, especially to represent 'my nintendo' on the shelf
Now its official, the current exchange rate for gold points is 800 platinum for 1 gold
Anyone have trouble checking out? It says there's an error with the transaction. Tried two different cards of mine and I get the same error.
I hope they're not out of stock already...
EDIT: Neeeever mind! Finally decided to work.
Thanks for the heads up. Ever since my trip to Disney World in March I’ve been on a pin collecting spree so I picked up the pins! 😆
Locked mine in! It's great to see that NA's My Nintendo's physical rewards are starting to stock more than just stationary.
Would love some even bigger value stuff, but I also wouldn't mind more posters, if they gotta stick to the budget side of things.
I had to pay nearly $8 to ship a free reward? Way to Nintendo, Nintendo.
Thanks for the heads up! I went to My Nintendo and looked at all of the rewards options. I didn't quite have enough for both of the items I wanted, so I went ahead and found the hidden Poochis and did all of the Pokemon Snap missions and boom! I was able to pick up both the coins pin set and the fun Cat Mario keychain with small lanyard/strap.
While the selection in My Nintendo may pale in comparison to the amazing physical rewards that I got during the Club Nintendo Era ( Luigi's Mansion Figure/Scene, the Mario button/pin set, the Zelda soundtrack, etc), it's nice that physical rewards are back. And these two I picked up are nice enough.
I only paid $5.00 for shipping... and that was both shipped together, so I'm not sure what's happening with others.
I honestly can't remember if I ever paid shipping for Club Nintendo physical rewards, but I don't think so. Also, some of the last rewards I got before Club Nintendo shut down were... free games. Don't see that anymore either.
I ordered the Pokémon pen set and they are just adorable. I need to hoard more coins for some of the other rewards (though Australia tends to miss out on a lot of them, going back to the Club Nintendo days).
I wish they would add CD soundtracks though. Perhaps they could even consider limited runs of self-published games that they don't expect to sell in large numbers at retail, such as the Famicom Detective Club double pack. I wouldn't pay AU$90 for a download, but I'd happily cough up the goods for a physical release. Or even novelties similar to the two Game & Watch Collections that were released for the DS via Club Nintendo.
I think that would be unlikely simply due to the fact that they would probably opt for a digital download these days (as this wasn't an option for the original DS), but a guy can dream.
why are we treated like second class customers in the UK? US always gets the good stuff
At least the coins are something more substantial for once, but it's still a far cry from a properly good reward. Wish there were CDs available, I'd get them in a heartbeat, and be actually something worth getting. Far cry from the tons of printables and pointless bits of paper they have done for 99% of the rewards thus far, which hold literally no proper value. Just give me stuff that I can't literally make myself with a Google search and a printer, and actually make it available in all regions cus there's no reason not to.
Yoinked the pins for myself just now. Thanks for the heads-up ;3
@SeantheDon29 pins are cool to collect. the rest not so much
I've got 1000 platinum coins expiring by the end of July, and then another thousand by October. I was saving up for a Zelda 35th anniversary reward that ended up being non-existant. :/
There will probably be another coin dump for E3 promotional stuff, so Im not terribly concerned about saving them up.
@Dpishere Dude I ordered both of those too! They look excellent!
Thanks for the heads up NintendoLife!
I ordered my pins, but I'm in the process of moving, so I had them shipped to my new address, at least that's what I thought. As it turns out, I don't know my new address as well as I probably should, so they've been sent to a different address in my new city. I tried to contact Nintendo support today and was told that my order is already in the shipping department and that my only option would be to try to set up an intercept with USPS. I'll give that a shot, but I'm not very optimistic that I'll ever actually see those pins.
Ohh goodie, another interesting set of items that I won't be able to order from Nintendo because they don't recognize my new address.
As always, only available in the US and Canada, not Mexico.
Do we think the coin pins will get restocked? They were gone by the time I learned about them!
I live in Europe and over here My Nintendo is really lame. I never used Club Nintendo because I was 6 when they shut the service down, but from what I heard, it was great. Loads of physical soundtracks, posters, collectible figures, free games for Wii U and 3DS and (most importantly) a use for the game boxes. Now we live in a world where the only My Nintendo rewards available ate notepads, calendars and bags. In America the service is much better from what I’ve heard. Just a larger selection of prizes, including these cool coins. For anyone who’s got to the end of this comment, thanks for taking the time to read this dumb rant about an optional service.
