I´ve put so much work on my island and I am very glad with the results, I wouldn´t dare to do it all over again,
Instead, I still play once in a while to get the few achievements that are stil left.

The timing for Mario+Rabbids 2 launch was terrible ... a very crowded October for Switch owners, with Bayonetta 3, Persona 5, Nier Automata ... Ubisoft should have waited a few months before releasing it.
I´m sure the game would get way more attention from players if it was launched now or February

I believe you will be pleased with this game. It´s super fun.
I also missed its original launch on the Wii, so I got it digitally for the WiiU (Virtual Console). I had a great time playing it in co-op mode. Some of my family members, when visiting me, still ask to play it to this day.

I still play my WiiU once in a while.

As it is compatible with almost all Wii games (except, I believe, Dance Dance Revolution), I use it as my primary device for playing Wii classics. I have the feeling that many people forget this feature.

And some of its multiplayer games are excellent for gaming parties, specially NintendoLand, Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club, Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends - no other version play as good as the WiiU version with its gamepad features etc.

With Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Pokemon Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Bayonetta 3, Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Triangle Strategy, Nier Automata, Disney Dreamlight Adventure, Portal Collection, Harvestella, great dlcs for Monster Hunter Rise (Sunbreak) and Mario Kart (03 packs of new tracks), some great indie games like Tunic, Cult of the Lamb, SIFU ..... Man, 2022 was great for the Switch. Lots of high-quality games.

Lots of Tetris games on the Switch. The Tetris Effect is awesome, but no game has more value for your money than both Puyo Puyo Tetris games

I am on the fence here.

I do miss some features that were available on New Leaf - working at the Brewster´s Café, Nook´s Cranny expansions, multiplayer minigames at the Tortimer Island, multiple shops...

On the other side, the level of customization offered in New Horizons, and the crafting system really made the game more personal, regarding of how you want to shape your town. The DLC (Happy Home Paradise) also adds a lot to the experience.

I voted New Horizons due to the customization features, but I still have the feeling that Nintendo could have added more character interactions and activities

It´s an exceptional game, with a level of character customization neve seen before in the franchise and a really lenghty story with different paths/endings to choose. The best Fire Emblem ever (in my opinion)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is such a cool game, even better if we get all meaty DLC packs. I had tons of fun with it (and still play it casually with family or friends). Still, despite selling more than 1 million copies, we don´t see many people commenting about it around the internet gaming communities. It really deserved more attention.

Considering that the Animal Crossing , Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Dx DLCs are tied to the subscription (you will not be able to play them in case you downgrade your subscription or cancel it), I still think this expansion is overpriced.

I was pleased with this announcement. Kirby: RDL is a really fun platformer with nice artstyle and solid co-op gameplay. A great game to enjoy with family and friends in our game parties.

I believe this is really good, since some challenges in the game are only beatable with certain characters / cars that can only be found randomly (or by speding a huge amount of money ).

Gatcha works well on Fire Emblem Heroes because there´s no such thing. You can beat all missions / chapters with any character, as long as you customize them well, and the game is very generous in giving in-game currency (orbs, in this case)

Still, the driving mechanics in Mario Kart Tour is really bad. It´s unresponsive, we never feel that we are able to control the carts properly.

@Not_Soos Oh Yeah! Those Splatfests with collaborations were fun! I also remember that we had a Transformers Splatfest (Autobots x Decepticons), Pokemon (Blue x Red). In Splatoon 2 we had a series of three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splatfests

Wow ... so, if we add all numbers considering brands, the Switch is still selling more than triple of what the PS5 is selling.
Of course there´s is a shortage of products in the Japanese market, but considering that the Nintendo Switch was launched 5 years ago, these numbers still impress me. Japanese games really love portability, eh?

Brox seems strangely familiar ... did anyone notice its similarity with Leatherhead from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ?

Anyway, this seems to be a fun game. A Beat´em-up with puzzle elements is an unlikely combination I´m willing to try.

Such a fun game. One of my all-time favorites.

The stage "A Christmas Gift ", with the song "You´re The Inspiration" (Chicago cover) is one of the most emotional stories I´ve ever seen in a videogame.

Persona 3 and 4 would please me.
I don´t have any hope for a Persona 5 port.

Wow ... I am really impressed to see Darkstalkers with such low percentage in this pool (compared to Viewtiful Joe and Okami). I expected it to rank a little better ... perhaps that franchise faced a similar situation as KOF (from SNK) and was not as popular in Europe/North America as it was in Latin America ?

I think Splatoon 2 should deserve a mention. On its ending credits, you need to shoot the screen with ink in order to reveal the names of the developers written in grafitti art

It´s not worthy it, specially if someone´s in interested only on the Animal Crossing DLC, because if you get that DLC by the Online Expansion Pack, it will only be available to play if you keep your subscription active.
It´s way better just to buy the DLC aside, instead of having it tied to the subscription. It´s way cheaper too.

@Clyde_Radcliffe Sonic Forces is good, in my opinion. I also had lots of fun with that game and I do think it deserves more attention from Sonic fans and the Nintendo Switch gaming community in general.

Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights, from Konami, for the 3DS
That game did not get much attention when it was launched. Very few websites cared about reviewing it - and the only positive review was from jeuxvideo.com. Most reviewers saw it as a copy of the Professor Layton games, but I´d say that Doctor Lautrec, although clearly inspired by Level-5 masterpieces, has its own identity and flair.
I enjoyed that game a lot, completing all puzzles, missions and collecting all ancient relics. The soundtrack is superb and the anime sequences are fun to watch. Too bad it sold poorly and Konami never cared about a sequel.

Increasing the number of slots for custom designs is a great update, but ....
... we´re still missing Brewster´s Cafe

Same for me. The original WiiU release is perfectly enjoyable, even without the extra content. I still play my WiiU to this day and Mario 3D World is still a favorite during family and friends meetings here.
The only game that I double dipped so far was Mario Kart 8, due to online play.
Another factor that prevents me to get it is the cost. Games are very expensive in my country, so buying the same game twice, even if it´s a better version, feels like wasting money.

As always, IGN is the odd one.

I agree. In my opinion, ARMS mechanics are simply genius, it surely brings a different flavor to the fighting game genre. I still play it from time to time to try to beat those pesky level 8 challengers.
Still, ARMS sold about 2,4 million, which is not bad at all for a new franchise. I hope Nintendo is working on a sequel, even if it´s not for current generation Switch

The 3ds game was awesome. It is still, to this day, one of the best visuals on that platform.
The Sim doesn´t seem as huge today as it was 10 years ago. I don´t think many Switch players would actually care about it

I had tons of fun with RE:Revelations on the 3ds and with RE: Revelations 2 on the PS4. Actually, I still play RE:Revelations 2 to this day with my niece since she got the game for her Switch.

To me, Just Dance used to be fun ... until 2015.
From 2016, the songlist became too focused on modern pop. The game became stale regarding styles of music and dance.
Older games had much more variety, many song from different decades.

@Heavyarms55 Totally agree with that. Animal Crossing was not concieved by its creator as a form of political expression. It´s just scapism. Many people these days wants to put politics into everything, and label everyone who doesn´t do that with stupid names. It´s so annoying. Let games be what they are meant to be: entertainment

My WiiU is still hooked and I still play it sometimes.

I have a backlog of games to finish: Paper Mario Color Splash, Rodea The Sky Soldier, StarFox Zero etc.

I also use it as my main device for Netflix, Youtube and Crunchyroll, since the Gamepad makes typing on the search menu way easier.

Look, for all our friends from the Northern Hemisphere who had not played the game during winter, a small tip ... you can only get ice furniture projects from the snow boys.
I´ve seen some people on Twitter looking for spare projects but that´s only possible if you play with more than one profile (more than one character) because the snow boys never give you double projects. If you get all projects they will give you large snowflakes instead.
