Re: Best Nintendo Switch Roguelikes, Roguelites And Run-Based Games

Timppis

I hate roguelikes. The genre is just so incredibly stupid and the premise of just playing run after run is just an excuse for not having an actual real story, plotline and progression.

That said.

Into the Breach is amazing. One of the best games I have ever played.

Darkest Dungeons was fantastic. The group and madness and despair mechanics combined with really good progression was just gem.

Vampire Survivors is just fun distilled into chaos. It's just ridiculously hilarious to build game breaking combos and kill the death itself at the end.

Hades is a masterpiece. Just a crowning jewel in action games in recent years. Everything about the game just clicks.

Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeon, Balatro and other tactical and card based roguelikes are so well made. Like it's crazy how they can fit the balance with the success and frustration so well.

Oh. And Enter the Gungeon. YES. The combos. YES.

Oh... *****. I might not hate the genre. Ball X Pit is REALLY GOOD by the way. Everyone should give it a try. My only gripe is that it was just a tad easy in the end if you've been arcade player.

I have to buy that UnderMine probably...

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?

Timppis

Just finished the game. I did give it a 10. It really feels like Nintendo doesn't have a Mario or other franchises now but 3D and 2D franchises and this one goes straight into that amazing 3D continuum. It really is a sequel to Odyssey (or not a sequel really) in the best way possible.

I will be doing a lot of the postgame stuff too even though I am normally not a collectathon player.

My kids gave it a 9 and 9 so far. So we can round it up to 10 because I have more experience

Most of that is like reading a pamphlet from a conservative think tank.

Laziness part especially has absolutely nothing to do with reality. First of all humans are lazy, seeking comfort. That is not a vice or a fault in any society. It is a very much human condition.

However. Laziness and poverty are incorrectly paired together when we have solid long term and short term studies that it is poverty that causes passivity, unability to make "sound" financial decisions and even deteriorating cognitive skills as well as aforementioned stunted creativity on humans. All of which can be "cured" via strong social aid network or basic income etc. This is not a matter of political ideology or difference of opinion. This is actual thing that happens to humans.

Creativity does not thrive under the need to survive. It thrives under comfort and possibility to focus on your art or craft.

Greed can happen anywhere but within social democracy or other government with high progressive tax systems, social care and safeguards against capital power equating itself with decision making it doesn't gain foothold as it does in a more capitalistic system.

World is full of hard-working and smart teachers, child service workers and nurses that work two or three jobs because their contribution and talent isn't recognized in a capitalistic society. Which one of those people would you call less deserving than hedge fund investors or other stereotypical wealthy "workers"?

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

I will just say that it is INSANE that the price of computer games has stagnated so long. Real inflation corrected price has actually gone down for decades and people are complaining about flagship titles finally picking up on the actual cost of development, marketing and distribution.

It is absolutely elitist bs to complain about consumer goods price range being lifted up like this.

First world problems par none.

@Henmii

Thanks. I really didn't see the flying Pikmin even though I looked at the picture a long while

I love the dog and I presume the blue pikmin are still there to fight and dive possibly.

But thanks for the rock info and also for the pink. I might have to go once again check my sight or change glasses

$70 is a good price for a massive video game.

Video game prices have been stagnant for decades and it was about time they finally got the proverbial balls to make up with the current world.

Anyone pineing for the good ol'days of console and video game pricing is a damn fool who doesn't remember well enough or doesn't know math.

Huzzah for $70 games. Bring them on and let it be done with.

I only came to this article to see the "how does this carbage sell so much" and I got what I wanted.

My kids bought the game and are loving it. I'll nuzlocke it at some point.

We are those that make these purchases. And guess what. We enjoy the games. I know it hurts to see people enjoying things, but I can assure you that writing that hurt down on internet is definitely helpful. Definitely.

Re: What SteamWorld Game Deserves A Sequel? Image & Form Would Like To Know

Timppis

@Sourcecode

They already did with their new game for Xbox.

Also. Steamworld games are absolute gems. I wouldn't mind if they pumped sequels for just three existing games for all eternity. Each one of them: Dig, Heist and Quest are fun and intuitive and brilliant in their own way and the gameverse behind them is absolutely adorable.

There is no such thing as too much of a good thing. It just means you personally have had enough.

When I begun I did 4-6 sessions a week with game time between 30-45 minutes, so 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes real time.

As I started to lose weight and had chance to do some other excercise too I actually started doing less with RFA. I have now maintained my current weight for about a month and I do 1-2 sessions of RFA, for about 45-60 minutes at a time a week but I also do bouldering at least twice a week and orienteering and cross country or other endurance sports once a week.
