I have said absolutely nothing about Codename S.T.E.A.M. in the last year or so. So there's that.
What comes to making fun of something, maybe try to actually be either a) funny b) truthful, either one would work fine.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with something being inspired by Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, which both are one of the best franchises in Nintendo and Strategy/TacticalRPG history.
It just is that VC was inspired something else. It's that simple.
I still disagree that it is "blatantly inspired" by Advance Wars or Fire Emblem because it clearly has other more obvious references in both the gameplay and the settings.
I stand by my "They are both Tactical RPG's and that's about it" -statement until I stand corrected.
This is going to improve my internet browsing vastly

Criticism ≠ whining
Constructive ≠ bad
There is a lot to be said about Switch that is not positive. However you put it there is still a vast difference between being a bit of a donkey and being critical.
VPD is otherwise ok, but you are absolutely right about their preorders and some hard to obtain stuff. They try to rip you off like scalpers sometimes.
I mostly order abroad because the prices here are so much higher than Amazon.uk for example. But GS sometimes has good preorder deals and I have one like 300m from my apartment.
Gigantti is weird, you can sometimes find really rare stuff just sitting in the shelves (I know people found some really rare Skylanders and Amiibo) and mostly they don't even know that Nintendo still exists
We shouldn't expect beautiful things or big things.
We should expect small and chibi.
That said I really do believe that we don't get such things as FFXV or even proper version of DQXI at this point. But I can live with that if we get Bravely Default Third installment and if Project Octopath kinda stuff is great.
Flame in the Flood is a good game. I bought it on Steam on some weekly offer and it was fun to dabble with, definitely worth the small price.
I won't be double dibbing on this one like I will on some others but to everyone who is thinking about it or is on the fence, it definitely is worth a try.
Put Mario on a completely bonkers crossover 3rd party game.
Watch how money is printed.
edit: This is without a doubt my most waited game for this year. I want this more than I want Mario Odyssey or Steep or FIFA. This looks absolutely fantastic. Davide Soliani has sold his entire future catalogue of games to me with this.
Well that's it. I don't need anything else from Capcom.
That'll be all. Thank you.
edit: Well actually that was completely wrong.
I still want new Okami, new Viewtiful Joe and Ace Attorney.
I just don't need Monster Hunter, personally.
I still would love everyone who likes the series to get it.
Of course they would release what is known to be a hit bundle at this time.
Everything else would be just stupid business. And the investors are WAY more impressed about the software sales and attach rate that Nintendo are currently producing then at the hardware sales.
We'll look at the hardware sales in a year. And then again in year and a half.
Right now most Switch have still gone to Nintendo early adopters and Nintendo fans. There is not enough evidence to say it's a massive hit as of yet.
It has a good chance, but it isn't there yet.
Attach rates on the games... Those are simply flabbergasting.
I have a little bit of the same problem right now.
Luckily there is already a must have game. That's Zelda.
ARMS I have no interest in after the demo weekends. Spla2oon I am still on the fence.
Have to wait until August 29th when the Rabbids arrive. After that it's almost too many games in the following months. FIFA, WWE2K18, Odyssey, great indies hopefully with Stardew Valley, Golf Story, and who knows maybe even XC2 and Steep this year.
Oh I really wish they manage to get the Steep to Switch.
Really? You don't say? It is in fact not the same as factual informative theory verifiable via scientific method? It is not in fact empirically observable? It is not objective in every perceivable manner?

Re: Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 4 Is Marching Towards Nintendo Switch
@OorWullie
Yeah. It's a bit similar to that. In VC there are still turns when as Battalion wars is RTS all the way, but definitely a bit like that.
I should check from Wiki or somewhere if Battalion Wars was supposed to be Advance Wars title first.
Battalion Wars was really good.

Re: Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 4 Is Marching Towards Nintendo Switch
@GC-161
No.
Valkyria Chronicles is VERY different from Advance Wars and Fire Emblem.
Yes, both are Tactical RPG's, but that's about it. VC has totally different battle system and gameplay mechanics.
If anything, VC honors really old WW2 games and clearly takes inspiration from Combat Mission and such.
Re: Bethesda Says DOOM And Wolfenstein 2 Are "The Start" Of A Nintendo Relationship
Gonna kill some nazis on the commute.
Gonna kill some nazis on hotel room.
Gonna kill the nazis in my bed.
Gonna kill the nazis till they're dead.
Talking about the Wolfenstein II of course.
Re: Dillon's Rolling Western Is Coming Back For A Third Helping Of Armadillo-Rolling Action
Two fantastic franchises not coming to Switch is breaking my heart.
First Okami and now Dillon.
I need to play things on my other devices now. It makes me sad.
WE WANT HD DILLON!
Re: Get Ready for a Nintendo Direct on 13th September
@LeRaposa
I would have agreed just few months ago.
Nowadays Nintendo saying "Mainly focused" means SUPER ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Re: The Latest Zelda: Breath of the Wild Gift May Make You Crack
I was hoping so much that it would have been something completely different than eggs. It would have been a perfect headline.
Re: Feature: Suda51 On Travis Strikes Again, Celebrating Indies And Collecting Zelda's Korok Seeds
Never played the first two.
After looking at them and if this is done with the same mentality then definitely gonna get this one.
Fun and violent, what better combination
Re: Sonic Forces Gets North American Release Date and a Snazzy Pre-Order Bonus Edition
What they instead of this crap should do is actual SUPER MONKEY BALL GAME.
For any platform. Preferably Switch

Re: Golf Story Hits the Links in September, Exclusively on Switch
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
What is the point of commenting on a Nindie game trailer that sort of stuff?
Seriously what sort of view of life do you need to reach that level of cynicism and apathy and ignorance all at once?
Re: Harmonix Confirms Its New Switch Exclusive - Super Beat Sports
It's not technically a new game.
It's port of Apple TV game
Re: Nintendo Confirms a New Nindies Showcase Presentation for 30th August
@faint
Very true. I didn't take that into account. Thank you
Re: Nintendo Confirms a New Nindies Showcase Presentation for 30th August
@Exy
10/19 have been released thus far.
Re: Ubisoft Developer Insists Steep Is Still Destined To Hit The Slopes On Switch
Absolutely going to get this if it comes out.
Online or no online required, doesn't matter.
Re: Clever Hack Brings Hyrule Warriors to the NES
Damn. It looked so good that I thought Wii U version had another DLC.

Re: FIFA 18 On Switch Runs At 60fps In Both Docked And Handheld Modes
EA has always been good at making games.
They don't deserve even one percent of all the crap they get.
I finally get FIFA on my Nintendo again. Even less reasons to open my PS4 now. Xbone has been standing still since march
Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing
@Finntendo
I've paid 50€ advance on my Gamestop preorder and I still have it.
Also I bought the NES classic from appliance store almost a month after it had been released. They had multiple units then.
I dunno where you preorder from, but at least Gamestop stuff is just not true.
Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing
@UmniKnight
We hope so.
(Although I do like my PS as well)
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Is Getting a Season Pass
Gonna get the game.
Probably gonna enjoy it a lot from the looks of it.
Then gonna buy the DLC
Forget about the game when other stuff comes.
Get notification next year about new expansion.
Be all WOO!!! FREE STUFF!!
Play again.
Be happy that you dug up the game because you hadn't in ages.
Im cool with that.
Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing
@UmniKnight
Yes. Scandinavia is part of Europe.
Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing
You guys should live in Scandinavia.
This being hallowed and sacred PS-land all throughout the region, there's always plenty of Nintendo related stock.
If anyone wants I can put on a pre-order for them.
Re: Video: Gamescom 2017 Gives Us Our Best Look At Switch FIFA 18 Yet
@Roam85
Inazuma eleven developers just teased the game for Switch. I've only ever tried one of them shortly. I would love to get one for Switch.
As for FIFA. I'll be getting it for sure although I don't have a clue how people say it looks good. I thought it looked a bit weird, but acceptable.

Re: Video: FIFA 18's Gamescom Trailer Shoots And Scores, But Can It Look This Slick On Switch?
Considering it won't even look this good on anything else than PC as powerful as the model machines they use on fairs like this.
No. It won't.
Re: Video: Get a Good Look at Rabbid Luigi and Mario in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Gotta love the haters.
How does it feel? Hating on a fictional character so much?
Is it good? Does it affect your everyday life?
Do you sometimes wake up to the realisation how incredibly silly that is?

Re: FIFA 18 Sales Are Important for Future EA Support of Nintendo Switch
@Rafx
Not everyone is on the same opinion that a game franchise with over 100 million units sold is niche.
Actually.
No one should even consider that as a possibility.
Re: Poll: 99 Games and Counting - Are You Pleased With the Switch eShop Library?
@Spoony_Tech
Approximately 11 months in Europe, little bit less than that, about 9,5 months in Japan and almost precisely a year in United States.
That is if you just count 100 published games.
Re: Rumour: Dataminers Appear To Have Unearthed More ARMS Characters
If there ever is that amount of characters and maybe some new modes or fleshed out single player mode I will pick it up.
As it is now, it was fun to try out but there wasn't enough for me.
Re: Virtuos Is Working on Porting a AAA Game to the Switch
FF X/X2 remake would be my favourite.
Re: Preview: Jumping Into the Crazy World of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
3rd Party games don't sell on Nintendo consoles.
Put Mario on a completely bonkers crossover 3rd party game.
Watch how money is printed.

@AcridSkull
Thanks. That's better advice than "Buy it and you will see" that someone else thought was somehow relevant
Re: Deals: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For August And September
This is the beginning of a splurge of purchases for me that goes right up to the holiday season.
Starting with Sonic Mania, then Rabbids, FIFA, WWE2K18 etc.
And so... so... so... many indies coming.
Re: Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 Are Coming To Switch Later This Year
Never played either.
So honest question. Are they any good?
Re: Capcom Reportedly Gearing Up for Multiple Nintendo Switch Titles
If I get Disney afternoon collection.
Well that's it. I don't need anything else from Capcom.
That'll be all. Thank you.

I still want new Okami, new Viewtiful Joe and Ace Attorney.
I just don't need Monster Hunter, personally.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - July 2017
Played Overcooked with my wife.
It is Hilarious!
It is exactly what you need from a game. Fun. Lot's of it.
Best e-shop title thus far. Still gotta try that Death Squared.
Waiting SO MUCH for Golf Story, Wargroove and Stardew Valley.
So many good indies and retails and 1st party games and FIFA and WWE and... phew.
I think I might have a bigger Switch library in a year than I had on Wii U all through it's lifecycle.
Re: Video: This Might Not Be The Safest Place To Play Your Nintendo Switch
Nintendo has always been for casual gamers.
Re: Nintendo Records Best Q1 Sales Since 2011 in Profitable Start to the Year
@Luna_110
If there ISN'T a Mario Odyssey Bundle for christmas I will be damn mad as an investor.
It's the best possible way for them to sell the machine, pack it up with a flagship game.
Only way to make sure it would sell out faster would be if there was Pokemon bundle but that is earliest holiday next year.
Re: Editorial: amiibo Has Stalled, Because Nintendo is Forgetting What Makes It Special
I liked this one.
I really hope that they will return to what Smash showed can be done with them.
Then again... I'll buy each of them anyway... so who am I to say anything about it. Im a cash cow

Excellent.
Worthy of a high five.
Re: Trademark Application Has Fans Dreaming of the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini

Snes and GCN for teh win.
And I've got the SNES classic mini on two preorders. Yuppee
Re: Ubisoft Will Announce More Nintendo Switch Titles "Quite Soon"
Whatever it is I believe in Ubi.
If only it was something as wacky as Rabbids + Mario that would be the best.
