I came to the witcher after BOTW, and I just couldn't play it after the latter's freedom.

@Ambassador_Kong I understand that, however - his review comes down to 'if you didn't like Breath of the Wild you are not going to like this'. There's a difference between not liking a game style/choices developers made and a averagely made game. He isn't reviewing Tears of the Kingdom on its own merits. A 6/10 puts it next to say.. the next Harvest Moon game? In a time of AAA games coming out broken which repeatedly have to be fixed with updates Tears of the Kingdom is a insane achievement clocking in at 16mb.

I dislike lots of game genres never mind individual titles within them genres but I would still credit them highly. I don't like Call of Duty Warzone but its hard to argue against how stellar it is.

The series was lambasted after Skyward Sword, multiple Zelda games have the same formula. The reviewer cant have it both ways just because they want a 'traditional' Zelda game.

@Jacket_p Its a tricky one because everyone is allowed an opinion. But in a world of AAA games that come out broken mess's no way is TOTK lower then a 9 of 10.

@Itakiteacher Its sad because I would of loved that! Records are meant to be be broken and I dont think Nintendo will have a better shot at it. Christmas 2022 was less then they expected. A quite big fall from the year before. Wonder what makes the DS so good in its 7th year and the Switch not? The DS didnt sell 1 Billion in software! Yet its slowing in hardware..

There is one 60/100 which sadly pulls TOTK down below BOTW on meta critic. And that reviewer's criticism is a bit odd. He just states what he wants Zelda to be and not what this game is. He didn't like BOTW either.

30 million more is a big ask.

Selling 17m next year and then 13m the year's following isn't impossible but very unlikely.

The Gameboy had life years after the Advance came out but it still feels out of reach.

I remember all the hate on the Switch console on reveal, how it wouldn't be successful all. Third time best selling console proved the naysayers wrong.

I was hoping to see a bigger number for actual Switch sales as Youtubers and analysts predicted it would overtake the PS2 to be the highest selling console ever.

But 20m more now seems far too much for it.

I think it may fall short of DS and PS2 levels but an incredible number for an incredible machine. 3rd overall 💪💫🔥

Nintendo does not have it easy in the UK.

Its to do with British culture. We are more Warner Bros then Disney. More Dreamworks then Pixar.

Remember all the 'Nintendo is doomed' talk on the unveiling of the Switch? Yet it's the best console they have ever done and probably the best generation they have done (other than maybe the Wii / DS combo)

If you are a 'seasoned' gamer like myself having Nes, Snes, N64 and Megadrive games online is amazing.

I've just been reading the comment's on Nintendo Life's Playstation sister site, they are filled with a 'I don't play those games anyway' kinda vibe.

I do believe it won't effect Nintendo much. The majority of those games don't come often to the system. People buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games. Yes cloud gaming is entering Nintendo's stomping grounds, but the world doesn't have good enough internet yet.

However COD alone is a massive get for XBOX. For all the talk of how great Playstations exclusive's are COD was Playstations biggest selling game of last year.

I'd strongly argue a huge number of COD players are similar to the FIFA or Madden player and and just play them and a couple of other titles all year. They are not loyal to Playstation.

I get it in terms of the most selling/wanted game under the tree but its hardly Top of the Pops (when that also mattered)

59.99 ÷ 8 (people) = 7.49 (a year)
7.49 ÷ 12 (months) = 62p! (a month)

Yet everyone complains.

I see Nintendo get so much flak over it's legacy offerings but it's incredibly cheap.

I have a family account and charge friends £5 to £10 a year for people to be on it. I GAIN money - that's better then free!

I do take energy into consideration. Nintendo consoles have always had less power consumption and I bought the ps4 slim for this reason.
