WHAT THE HECK DID THEY DO TO HER FACE!? Did they hit her with the ugly stick!? She was totally fine! Everyone liked the original box art! Why change it!? Why did they give her the Dream Works face!? Was this to make the game appeal to a male demographic?? Please tell me this is only the North American box art so I can print out some other region's box art and put it on the game instead...
This might be the most wholesome ad I've ever seen. It was so adorable I was hospitalised for cuteness overload. I barely survived. Nintendo is back on their A game for this.
This doesn't bother me so much. There were a lot of security flaws in the connectivity anyway. Remember all those horror stories about hackers bricking consoles through it? Not to mention I didn't use many online features that generation. The only thing that saddens me is that Splatoon 1 is basically a paper weight now. Sad fate for one of the best shooters of all time. But I'm sure some tech savvy people are working on making private servers or whatever as we speak.
I get that if everyone had the same opinions the world would be boring but... I disagree so hard. The 3DS's backward compatibility with the original DS was a huge selling point for me. I loved the way that the Wii could play GameCube games. It allowed me to play cheap second hand games. I'm buying a Switch 2 and trading in my OG Switch so I can still play my games but have the latest and greatest thing.
This makes me wish Nintendo Power was still a thing. They had so many cool original art and comics. My mom never let me have a subscription back in the day. She said it was nothing but advertisements lol. She was definitely right, but they were awesome advertisements. But by the time I could afford to buy them myself, Nintendo Power was done. It's awesome that someone is preserving the content I never got to see myself.
The reason I could never get into Mario RPG was because the graphics were so blurry I could never tell what was even happening. Normally graphics are just a bonus for me because gameplay is what matters most, but omg. Mario RPG's original graphics give me a freaking head ache. I know they were a technical achievement on par with the original Donkey Kong Country... but I'm glad we can have intelligible modern day graphics instead.
I'm most excited for Thousand Year Door because that was a very important game in my life. I have so many good memories with it. It looks like they're retranslating the entire thing so I wonder how it will turn out. Not to mention they're adding some characters and new sprites by the looks of it. I actually can't wait!
I'm kind of excited for the new Peach game, but the gameplay looks like... it leaves something to be desired. As a Peach stan I'm still buying it but meh.
Luigi's Mansion 2 was the first game I ever felt disappointed by when it released. The original was my first video game ever and I guess I expected something better than what we got. I already 100%'ed that game and am not interested in doing it again : P
I might be the only person on Earth who never touched Mario RPG and has never seen a playthrough. I'm going in completely blind. Already pre ordered : D
Side Order looks like fan fiction for hardcore Splatoon fans. Despite playing since the first game, I'm not in that camp. So I'm less excited for Side Order.
No Detective Pikachu or WarioWare for me, thanks. I played the first Detective Pikachu and found it super childish and predictable. And I've already played pretty much every classic WarioWare (GBA, DS, Wii...) game so I've grown sick of the regular formula.
Edit: Forgot Mario Vs. Donkey Kong lol. This exact thing was on my wishlist for a long time. I'm sorry, actual DK fans. I'm so happy they're bringing back the GBA one. That was another childhood favourite of mine. It looks like a tech demo graphics wise. As in, fancy sparkly graphics feel like they don't fit the game. Again, still buying it X D.
I have a lot of nostalgia for the North American art. It gets the point across with some awesome 2D art. But... i'm going to have to go with Japan. It might not fit the game, but I love it! I would buy a poster of it. Can't say the same about the NA art. So Japan wins for me.
I'm kind of upset. Seeing new outfits for characters was my favourite thing about the game. I loved MKTour to death, so sad to see it go . I hope they eventually make a revival.
I chose the North American box art because it's the one I grew up playing. Not to mention the visuals are a little bit more interesting. Mega Mario on the side brings some interest to the box art, while the European one is a collage of random enemies with Mario and Luigi slapped on the middle.
There a Mario movie in the '90s and four Mario themed cartoons in the 80s'. Not to mention they were a broad entertainment company for over a hundred years before they got into the video game market. So yeah, they've always been more than a videogame company imo.
I'm not a fan of the way the elephant power up looks myself . Most power ups are costumes the characters wear so having one be a full on transformation is just weird to me. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
I'm glad this is happening! I missed a lot of Splatfests because of random circumstances so I'm happy I'll actually get to experience all the stages! Team Frye 5ever!
I'm glad the game is selling so well. Japanese sales and feedback are what Nintendo pays attention to most. Not a Pikmin fan, but it's good that Nintendo is seeing the series succeed so it gets more entries.
Besides gold dynamo roller coming back (my beloved!) and a couple new weapon types, there doesn't seem to be much happening. Maybe they're hiding all the really juicy stuff so when you play the season you get a pleasant surprise. For instance, I'm not seeing a lot of new gear. I spied 4 pieces at most. I hope the catalog is shown early again.
I'm going to pre order these so fast! I can't wait to see what kind of gear they give. The Frye amiibo's eyes look a little off, but these are just prototypes probably.
