Is there any proof that these controllers are compatible with the minis? I realize they're USB-powered but that doesn't guarantee automatic compatibility. I'm hopeful they will work but I'll wait for confirmation before purchasing.

It's as if retailers are suffering short memory loss and are completely caught off guard with the SNES mini. We JUST went through this with the NES Classic.

@Hikingguy Precisely. Nintendo botching the distribution numbers of the Switch should surprise no one.
At this point, anyone should be able to walk into a major retailer and pick one off the shelf.
That level of incompetence usually gets people fired.

Tried a friend's version. Found it unplayable using analog stick. Way too loose and imprecise. Needs a D-pad.

@World Indeed. Many legally-improbable games on my list but I wasn't concerned with licensing issues. I was just listing some of my personal favorites.

@PlywoodStick I can certainly understand your point but the awfulness/greatness of the original TMNT has grown on me and I really enjoy the game.
Also, nostalgia plays a big part in my affection for the game, since it was one of my very first NES carts back in the '80s.

Ugh... Nintendo... SMDH, yet again.
Like it or not, $9.99 is a fortune in the eyes of mobile phone gamers.
Why not give players World 1 for free (as it currently is), then charge a dollar to unlock each additional world (2 through 6).
One dollar is the sweet spot with mobile gaming.
Players that want to unlock everything all at once should be given that option at a slightly reduced bundle price.
I'd wager that the above pricing model would have netted Nintendo a much higher return than current figures indicate.
But too late now for any of that.

Really hoping Nintendo releases a Game Boy Classic/Mini. The original grey brick version but backlit or some kind of Kindle-like screen.

@aaronsullivan No luck so far. I've stood in morning lines twice and have gone on three wild goose chases with nothing to show for it but suspicion that grouchy employees were keeping inventory for themselves.
Also, I missed the Amazon Prime Now releases due to being at work at the time.
So, until Nintendo decides to actually satisfy the still-high demand for this thing and cram retail shelves full of NES Classics, I'm done chasing.

Fudge sake, Nintendo. Is it really that difficult to say: "No comment at this time"?

@yomanation Yes, indeed. I mean, can you imagine the battery power alone required to operate a portable PS4 or Xbox One for more than 20 minutes??
Speaking of battery life, I'll eat a second chair if we get more than 2-3 hours of solid gaming from the Switch.

@aaronsullivan I wouldn't exactly call it plummeting when the cheapest US console on eBay currently starts at $183.50 (but most are sitting at $200), and the controller, as well as an EMPTY BOX, starts at $100.
Knowing Nintendo and the fact that this is a novelty toy and not a major system release, my gut feeling is we won't see a sudden flood of these things before or after xmas. It will be more of a trickle and then gone.
I really want one for my family but I will never pay more than the retail price, so I'm likely out of luck.
