I’m excited for Year Walk! I missed buying that one on Wii U.

That bench got me, and it was a jaw-dropping moment for sure, watching helplessly as the trap was sprung. I was very low in health and had no chance. Unfortunately, I was carrying somewhere between 200-300 rosary beads at the time, and I died on my way back to the cocoon, so they were all lost. But it’s all a part of the game.

@martynstuff I really agree with your comment about how they should have considered having a player lose possession if they were bumped into from the side. Or at least increase the angle a bit more. It’s tough to run into someone else perfectly head on to steal the ball. Maybe with more practice that precision will come easier.
But in the demo I found that because it’s so difficult to defend, it was basically the two teams just trading baskets. Whichever side won the race to the ball at the start opened the scoring, and then each team took turns scoring back and forth.

I really like this suggestion and may end up doing this eventually as I do like to take screenshots here and there. But I’m having a bit of trouble adjusting to the new pro controller currently. I find myself accidentally pressing the GL/GR buttons quite frequently so I don’t have them mapped to anything right now.

I’m trying to get used to the grips being smaller. I feel like this has changed the weight and it’s more top heavy than the old pro controller. They also have no texture and it just feels a bit too slippery. Same with the thumb sticks. The plastic is almost too smooth, and I find I’m frequently adjusting to re-centre my thumbs on them.

This may just be a me problem. I really want to love this thing. I’m hoping it’s like when you get a new pair of glasses and they feel awful for that first week until you adjust to them. And then you pop on your old glasses for comparison and then they feel terrible and you wonder how you lived that way.

I own the game, but have unfortunately never tried it out because my copy is sealed. I don’t collect sealed games; it happened to be the only sealed game in a lot of GBA games I purchased on eBay years ago. One of these days I’m hoping I’ll just get the courage to open it. I have no intention of selling it, but somehow opening something that old makes me hesitate. So it’s just sitting on the shelf for now. Maybe I’ll open it on my 50th birthday or something like that so I feel less guilty, haha.

Imagine starting a new job where everyone expected perfection from you day one, and where you were constantly being compared to the person you had replaced who had done the job for decades. I think Kevin is doing a great job, considering the shoes he’s having to fill.

I was having way too much fun to even notice. I played the demo for around 11 hours and didn’t feel any kind of lag. I can’t wait for Splatoon 3!

Article says Big Man is a stingray, but I’m pretty sure he’s a Manta Ray, based on his colouring and the wordplay.

I have a complete copy of Cubivore, purchased when it was still in the $80 range. That’s probably my most valuable game.
I have my entire game collection (all the way back to Atari) proudly displayed in my living room and I hope that when it’s time for me to go I’ll be able to give it away to someone who will love it as much as I do.

Yep, you’re right. Upon closer inspection the HUD in that footage is from Mario Maker, not 3D World. I was seeing what I wanted to see.

So in the Nintendo of America video above I noticed that they showed a Yellow Switch Lite, then zoomed into the screen to show Cat Mario from Super Mario 3D World. Coincidence, or teasing a port?

Day 1 buy for me. The goose animations are perfect!
Many years ago I had pet geese I raised from babies. Their names were Splish and Splash. They were always very gentle and friendly with me - never any hissing or biting. I would let them out of their pen and they’d follow me around, they liked to be pet, and when I called out to them from across the farm yard they’d always honk back. So not all geese are obnoxious, but they’re definitely smart and curious.

I Kickstarted this and I’m fine with the delay. I’ll happily wait longer if it means a better game. In the meantime I’ll just tackle something in my overwhelming backlog.

I checked the e-shop on release date and in Canada the game is $21 or something crazy like that. I just couldn't justify it. I have a Switch but I still play my 3DS too, and I was really interested in CW but not for that kind of scratch.
The Canadian dollar is on the rise and yet the mark-up on games here remains high. It's very frustrating.

Great lining ruined by a horrible exterior. Not sure why anyone would want to pay that much to drape themselves in the skin of dead lambs.

I played almost exclusively as Ribbon Girl and I won way more than I lost. A couple of perfects. I love the Slapamander. It's so bad.

I loved Zelda, and I'd really like to try Horizon, but I hear that the gear upgrade process turns it into a small mammal murder-sim, and I'm not into that. Anyone know if it's possible to get through the game without upgrading your gear?

I gotta go with Sunshine Airport, Mount Wario, and Wild Woods.

I started subscribing to ONM in December of 2012, right after the last issue of Nintendo Power. It was expensive to import ONM to Canada, but oh so worth it. I was just getting nicely settled into ONM when it was also shut down. A sad trend. At least we still have NF Magazine.

I would definitely buy DLC for this game. I'm having a lot of fun with the multiplayer and single player portions.

The fall gaming season is too busy anyway. Star Fox Zero would have been lost in the shuffle and not given as much exposure as it will if they release it in spring or summer.

I would buy it day one for sure.

After a really long day at work, I'm fine with coming home to play a happy game that encourages me and doesn't provide any real challenge. Games like that are just what I need sometimes. This game falls into the chill out and relax pile, and there's nothing wrong with that. Diversity in games is what keeps us coming back for more.
I'm really looking forward to HHD - got the bundle pre-ordered, as well as a few packs of amiibo cards.

This was a great read. When the headline caught my eye, somehow I didn't see the word "Journalism" right away, and during a brief moment of panic I thought this was going to be about him retiring, which would be terrible.

This stuff reminds me of the Nontendo 4DS in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball. I gotta go back to that game sometime, it was a lot of fun.

I'm really looking forward to this one. The Treehouse Live segments during E3 sold me on it.

No StarTropics makes me sad, but I'll be buying the Gunman Clive HD Collection for sure.

@DarthNocturnal I saw some sketchy Reddit posts saying it would be at EB too. I don't work tomorrow so I'm going out for it just in case.

Meanwhile in Canada...I can't connect either. So I went into Cooler Heads, and Annie refused to sell me gear because I was "kinda sorta offline". And then Moe called me a nerd and told me to beat it. I'm takin' my business elsewhere buddy.

I agree, Xbone owners don't really deserve this. I wonder if the Microsoft audience is even at all interested in a Rare collection. I suppose a bunch of them are likely Nintendo deserters, so we'll see how it does in sales.

I own many of these carts/games already, but I recently got an Xbone for my birthday, specifically to play this collection. I try not to subscribe to console war fighting, but I still haven't quite been able to accept having the thing in the house. Wii U is my primary console, with PS3/PS4 secondary. And now I guess I have a Rarebox.

@Really_Awkward You're talking about vegetarian marshmallows, right? Because regular marshmallows are full of gelatin (skin, hooves, tendons, etc) and are not vegetarian at all. Two vegetarian/vegan brands of marshmallows you should check out are Dandies and Sweet & Sara.

@shani it looks like this game gives the player the option to change the colour, whereas in Runbow the colour changes on its own. Having control of the colour palette will likely lead to some interesting puzzle mechanics.

I have a Virtual Boy, with the box, manual, and 8 games. I haven't had enough time to play with it...I should set it up again this weekend. The controller design feels great, and I don't mind the red graphics. Best played in short bursts though.

I was a Coaster and Dog queen, so I'm rollin' in snails. I already have 4 slots on all the gear I use regularly, and I've re-rolled a few times to get the gear perks I wanted. So I hope the good folks at Nintendo give us some more fresh styles soon.

This is so unexpected and tragic. He had so much life left to live.

That's awesome. Too much work for me though. I painted one of the walls in my kitchen blue and stuck up some Blik Super Mario Bros decals. Way easier.

I think Bowser and DK were perfect choices. I watched gameplay on Treehouse Live, and both characters are badass. I'm actually considering buying the game for Wii U and I've never played a Skylanders game before.
