Re: Super Mario Movie Secures Most Successful Opening Weekend For Any Animated Film, Ever

SonOfDracula

@NorwegianMate So when are people going to stop treating things they read on the internet or this website as some sort of collective hive mind?

" I HATE Chris Pratt!! This is gonna suck!!"
" I HATE Hollywood... This is gonna suck!!"
" Illumination sucks at animations! It doesn't even look like 8bit mario that I grew up with!!"
"Oh, it was wonderful! So many Easter eggs!"

The above are all statements made by SEPARATE individuals. They don't undo each other, they may or may not change based on the experiences of the individual. They are individual experiences and NOT part of some otherworldly collective lmfao.

Seriously lol

@slowpokemon It’s not like they ruined the whole movie by stating a song title. It’s not even a major story element; just used to introduce a character that’s on the movie posters.

What’s ACTUALLY awful, is the fact this man’s name is left out of the credits, not whether or not someone on the net feels spoiled. Getting this story out is more important.

Re: Don't Expect To See Future Super Mario Games On Mobile, Suggests Miyamoto

SonOfDracula

Why this bothers people, I will never understand. Nintendo is a company. They'll do what they need to do to make money. Making mobile games doesn't make them lesser, unless everyone all of a sudden hates Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, BOTW, and Zelda TikTok? Remember that they made a few mobile games when those games were released and it didn't seem to hurt them...right?

@GoshJosh I already gave examples of what types of articles caused it, right above your reply to me in fact. And while it's fine to disagree, your opinion does not negate the experience of others.

Last thing I would want is this site to devolve into something awful the likes of Kotaku or something. That user-base is insanely toxic, with little to no moderation.

Re: Chris Pratt Defends "The Voices" In The Mario Movie

@Shepdawg1 Is "go touch grass" the kool kid way of telling people to "get bent" now? It's still toxic, even if you veil it with niceties.

It's funny, because when I learned yoga, the term "touching grass" had such a positive and spiritual connotation, as in to reconnect with nature. No need to sully the spirituality of that phrase for the sake of putting others down on the internet.

I don't understand why people think that if Charles Martinet voiced Mario, it would be all "YA - WHA - WHAHOO" and such. It's like people have never heard his incredible vocal range beyond a Mario voice. I would have loved to have heard him do a "speaking voice" version of Mario.
