Re: Nintendo Has Been Patching A "Severe" Vulnerability Found In Some Online Switch, 3DS, And Wii U Games

@Yosher Depends. Say they gain control of your console and you decide to go AFK, they could start to delete things, run malicious software and brick your system, make a bunch of expensive purchases on the eShop...stuff like that. It’s not something you may even become immediate aware of if they use tools to run things in the background. It’s not like they are going to take control of your console and then run your Mario off a cliff and lul. I highly recommend you do a couple of quick google searches about what is possible during a remote control exploit, and learn how to prevent something like that from happening. Imagine if you don’t understand it while using a PC; the results could be devastating.

Re: Microsoft Wants To Bring The "Best Version" Of Call Of Duty To Nintendo Platforms

@SBandy1 So on Tuesday, the 21st, Msoft continued to push for the merge w/Activision, which is the publisher for Call of Duty, last I checked. Either way, the fact they signed a 10-year deal with N is telling of the end result. It's both baffling and immensely amusing that people are having such a negative reaction to all this.

You get to play CoD while you poop, now. We are only going further into the depths of peak modern gaming. Everyone be happy ffs.

Re: Talking Point: Why Are So Many Remasters Sub-Par At Launch?

SonOfDracula

Games industry in a few short steps:

1) Get everyone on the hype train.

2) REGARDLESS of if your game is 100% finished yet, release it. The people you got from step 1 will be your beta testers, AND fund your post-launch support.

3) Wait for "complaints" from your beta testers who paid for your game to report what bugs exist in your release.

4) Patch the game based on step 3, repeat as necessary.

This is modern gaming, in a nutshell. The cycle is NOT exclusive to remasters, though a shoddy one does point towards the issue.

Everything is early access until it's received post-launch patches. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this.
