I spy somebody from 1-2-Switch in this commercial!

To me all the pokemon look fantastic. Pikachu does seem a little off though.

On the reverse side, all the humans look pretty bad to me except for Jessie and James.

I assume this will be more like the Brawl stage builder instead of Sm4sh's stage builder since we wouldn't have a screen in our hands if playing docked.

I had so much fun building stages in brawl. Sm4sh's was straight garbage.

I hope stages are easily shared or some way to play them online with friends.

My first thought on how he would work made me chuckle. He would be a sword version of snake since he can use the beam swords! Hahaha!

LoZ:LttP is hands down my favorite game of all time. So many memories playing this game. If this is true, and they do it like LoZ:LA I will be one happy camper!

If this is fake, then I'll just continue to play it on my SNES mini.

A lot of people here need to read up on what sportsmanship is.

The one who is actually showing poor sportsmanship is the person using the Ice Climbers since he just gets up and leaves during the set.

The Jigglypuff player is actually showing great gamesmanship by playing within the rules to win. Now if he was laughing at and taunting the ICs player while avoiding him, THAT would be poor sportsmanship.

Sportsmanship is playing by the rules and showing respect to the other player.
Gamesmanship is doing everything within the rules to win.

I will admit there is a gray area between gamesmanship and poor sportsmanship. In this instance though, it isn't the case.

Yeah, this is by no means a "timeless classic". I love the Kirby series, and I absolutely hated this game.

I understand some people loved this game, and that is fair. I also don't think this is a poorly made game either. I just don't think this game would have sold half as well if they wouldn't have slapped Kirby's face on it.

Can't wait for the "They are running out of ideas!" comments tomorrow. Been happening since gen 2.

I'm excited though. I expect the direct to start out like the count down on twitter. Just with each region having a few seconds instead of a few minutes.

I saw that in starlink and automatically thought "There goes you starfox grand prix".

If we're all honest, a starfox racing game would sell less than a new f-zero game. Even then I don't think they really want to make any games that have to compete for attention from Mario Kart. It makes me sad thinking this way.

The problem with riChestM's comments, and tweets, is he is twisting the author's words to make it sound like he is throw a whole banana at a black man. Where in reality, he is meaning the threw a peel (statement) to slip up the lawyer.

I was 6 years old when this game came out. 6... I played this game sooooo much. I literally cried a little at this trailer.

I love the art style too. This game took wacky risks when it came out then, and it is again with the graphics. My heart is happy. So happy.

Many people seem to be forgetting about DQ Builders 2. I believe the SE retweets are most likely having to do with that.

No Sora for smash. He has about as much of a chance for the game as Goku, Shrek, or Waluigi. (and yes, I admit I have an irrational desire for him to not make it into the game). A DQ rep is more likely due to popularity in Japan. Plus leaks... that hold as much water as my hands do.

The only thing I really want from this direct is Animal Crossing. Sadly I don't think it is time for that. This will probably focus on upcoming games and then some surprises.

This unbelievably adorable to me. I expect charmander soon enough, which I'll be getting. I'd love a magby, murkow, or zangoose too... but they just aren't popular enough.

Saw Bub & Bob and got excited. Saw what game and I got sad. Unfortunately I never really got into this series.

I know others will enjoy this.

Animal Crossing and Pokemon are day one buys.
DQ Builders is a will buy at some point.
DxM and Fire Emblem are maybe buys.
Metroid is a day one buy one day...

Man, I'd rather have Banjo-Kazooie like seemingly everyone else on this site... but holy crap. With how everyone is overreacting with unneeded hate of Minecraft, I hope Steve makes it in so he can start mining salt as a recourse!

Let's be honest though. The nostalgia for Banjo-Kazooie will bring less fans to smash than the "masses" that like Minecraft.
Ask yourself, which character would bring in more money for both Nintendo and Microsoft? If one of the two were actually going to make it in the game then the answer should be pretty obvious.

A Steve moveset would be really fun as well. There is so much to pull from. He would make a very interesting character to play as. (Though, Banjo-Kazooie would too)

Inmost and CrossCode are very interesting to me.
Metal seems to be fun, but I'm terrible and dislike rhythm games.
Forager peaked my interest from the description, but the environment and character textures are just too flat for me to get behind.

WOW! This game has come a long way. I see they have accompanied it with ska. That better been in game music. It still looks terrible, but in the good kind of way.

Two of my favorite weapons in this update! Glooga and mini!

The Glooga set looks great, the mini... not so much.

Edit: The Gloogas and the Gal officially have the best paint jobs, hands down.

I live in a rural state and work at a electric coop that has just created subsidiary. The subsidiary is a fiber optics company that will actually go out to Tim Roadkiller that is 50 miles into the backwoods.

If there is any other "Metroidvania" game you haven't played yet, I suggest playing that instead. Because the world is randomly generated there is no feeling of cohesiveness that others in the genre have. This game is also extremely repetitive with its rooms. Really easy to notice in late game. I suggest looking up reviews on youtube before buying.

The switch is also always with you if you are playing it in those places. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I don't use voice chat ever, but even I know this is rubbish.

After playing Hollow Knight your reasons alone make me want to play the Dark Souls. Hollow Knight isn't THAT hard but the bosses that did take me off guard it was really fun to change up my charms and remember the patterns the next time I fought the boss.

I've been weighing my options but your comments and Hollow Knight has sold me.

@DanteSolablood I play Go as well, only level 30 or 31... I can't remember, but I'm not too excited about PvP in Go. I think the battling is only good for gyms and raids.

I see what you are saying. Taking the next gen out of the conversation I can agree with your point of view. I still with the wild encounters would have been normal and when you chose to catch Pokemon you used the go style of throwing the ball. That is the main beef I have with Lets GO

@matii @DanteSolablood With those numbers I'd be willing to bet PoGo has the more active fan base, which makes the decision to make LetsGo even more understandable.You gotta remember of that 227 mil some people are buying both versions and sometimes all three versions in that generation, and some people bought one game from from each generation. Very fair point, I'll upgrade the comparison from "poor" to "not the best"
I still think think there is a lot more reasons why that have to be taken to account.

I appreciate your opinions on the game and the fact that you aren't just trashing it for what it is. You have your concerns about it it and you aren't being unreasonable when saying them. Again, I appreciate your ability to have a conversation about it.

You can point to the dumbed down stuff, which I agree is true, but you can also point to all the stuff they added that wasn't in the earliest form. I'll be honest, I never intended to buy this game for your reason above. I had a girlfriend who memorized the original pokemon in order to impress me, we are now married. When Go came out she downloaded it so we could do something together outside every once in awhile. She found out about this game and said "We are getting this right? I'm so excited." Welp, I'll be letting her take the lead and I'll be her partner as she discovers the world of pokemon.

I understand the point you are trying to make her, but I think this is a poor comparison. There are many more factors to why transformers aren't as popular now. Between the cartoons not being as popular as they were to what they are fighting shelf space for, plus more. Pokemon is still extremely popular and very much in the public eye. I'm not worried about its state. Now if Lets Go was announced and we didn't know about think next generation coming, I would be very concerned with what direction they were taking the series.

This game is just getting to much hate for not being something it was never intended to being. I'm fine with people not wanting to play the game because what it is, but there is no reason to hate on it. But hey, this is the internet, I should either expect hate or just not get on the web right?

@Not_Soos Hard to tell. Honestly everybody here hating on it doesn't realize who the target audience is.

It is targeted a new people to the series (it is a gateway game)
It is targeted at the people who play go now but haven't played pokemon in a long time.
It is targeted at the people who played the original game and now have kids of their own that are about the same age as they were when they played the game.

If you want a challenge, then no, this isn't the game for you. If you just want to have a chill game to have a fun adventure then this is for you.

The competitive game is coming out next year. People need to just calm down and realize who this game is for and that it is meant to push switch sales to more of a demographic.
