I'm getting the physical release of this and the one of Tales of Symphonia. Those are two Gamecube games I have the originals still. The cases beside each other will look great!
@Koda1000 If you are referring to the specials themselves, then I agree. If you are referring to them in this articles context, I couldn't disagree more. If your opponent is getting to infinitely use their missiles then it would be impossible to push the tower in tower control, just for one example.
@Ryu_Niiyama This is most definitely not the same as a normal spammer. They are either hacking or a bug is causing their specials to automatically refill. There is small counter play to pretty much every other special in this game except for missiles where they can just sit back in their base and keep people off the objective for free.
There is a difference between someone getting to user their special infinitely and someone sitting on the high ground and using a charger.
I mean, slight redesigns are fine. Mario and Luigi have gone through several redesigns. I'm hoping this is skewed toward the "Mario & Luigi" versions of them as those are my personal favorite looks.
Musical number though? I loved the lego movie but I don't want that for the Mario Bros.
I vaguely remember an article where a bunch of videos on youtube were pulled off, and AC music was a lot of it. If I didn't dream that then I'm guessing this is why they did that.
@Fizza I'm fairly certain it is the new inkstrike. I was pretty confused when the inkling threw out three little capsules in a row that didn't look like their sub weapon. Then I noticed the pillar of ink hit in the background. Also the special emblem is three missiles, so I'm putting together that that is what it is.
@Fizza Watching this was fun. That hoover definitely looks like it blocks/sucks in enemy ink and then shoots it back. That "flashlight" you saw is a actually a marker I think that is used like a kunai. I love that they brough back the ink strike but you use it by marking three spots with three little marking bombs. Also, I love the after battle rewards and titles you can use. They continue to make this series better each time, especially with the small things.
@Highlar As far as how things that are static look. I think look fine, but the framerate on those wind turbines were really bad. Something that is going to be an "important" landmark shouldn't have that bad of a fr. That being said, I think that will be fixed by release. I'm also sure we will see some similar framerate issues with distant Pokémon like what we saw in PLA. I'm hoping they surprise us though since it will be a mainline new gen game.
I had to stop reading these comments due to the number complaining about the Pokémon designs. You can objectively dislike them, but that doesn't make them bad designs. I was 9 when red/blue was released in the US. The only generation I skipped was gen 4. I've loved(or at least appreciate the thought put in to) the Pokémon designs of every generation. My favorite gen is 5. Again I say, you can dislike the designs but that doesn't make them bad. I'm almost willing to argue in favor of every design you could bring up to me.
That aside, I've "decided" which version I want. Serviper being in the trailer almost 100% confirms Zangoose is in the game. I'll choose which ever version has Zangoose as it is my favorite Pokémon.
I understand MM is a great game... but it is actually one of my least favorite Zelda titles. The gameplay felt reputative to me. The game itself felt like it was constantly pushing forward a little faster than I actually wanted to play. I get the urgency in the story and liked the sense of despair, but still I felt a little too rushed. I also hated all of the bosses except of Majora itself.
I'm going to go off on a limb and predict that Pokemon Home gets an update where we can battle friends using the app instead of having to use a game. I give this about a 0.000...01% chance to happen.
@JackTako oof, yeah. There is nothing wrong with using the same poses in you work... but when you pretty much do a 1:1 of a pose from a game series' official artwork you are "inspired" by, that is just a little too on the nose.
Be inspired by, but try to have your own identity too.
Alttp is my favorite game of all time, which would make me think I would love this... but that trailer did not do it for me.
-The main thing that jumped out to me is how bad the sound was in this trailer. They seemed very loud or just flat out disconnected from the world they were in.
-Some of the assets looked about as different as if you copied your classmates homework. Heck, there was one or two moments where the dungeon rooms looked like they had the exact same room layout as the dungeons from Alttp.
I don't know. I feel like they tried too hard to appeal to me. I will keep an eye on it a maybe watch someone else play a small portion of it before I decide.
I know a lot of people like to hate on voltorb's and electrode's designs, but I'm a big fan of simplicity. Saying that, making voltorb wooden is the most adorable thing. I love it.
I almost voted for more gyroids, but the only correct answer is more life. The only way to want to come back and play more would be to give it more life, new varied dialogues. This game focused too much on crafting and terraforming. I know it is new, but everything is so lifeless compared to the previous games. I just isn't the same.
@Kirbo100 Nah, I'm 100% certain the crab is a special based off the trailer and these images. The main give away it is a special is the glowing hair. I'm about 90% sure it is going to replace the baller special too.
I'm so excited for some new ranked modes though. I hope there is something new and they don't do away with the other modes. That being said, we'll need to have all ranked modes active at all times. Rotations are really my only complaint about the Splatoon serious, otherwise it is in my top 3 favorite Nintendo franchises now.
Oof, hate to see this about the encounter rate. If you are going to make your game this way, you should always give the player a method of lowering or full on avoiding encounter rates.
I don't want to play a game where I feel like I'm in Mt. Moon the entire time.
@Reddragonmeta @Highlar @Kalmaro @DocRompler Thanks for the insight. If it was more of just QOL things then honestly I would have been fine with not having some of those things being in the game. Makes me wish I would have taken the plunge sooner honestly, but I'm still glad I've taken it.
This is my first entry to MH, and I'm curious to hear from the MH veterans on why this game is so much easier to the previous games in the series. So far the hardest part of the game has been the learning curve (and my wife questioning if that is the same bear I was fighting earlier, as well as her questioning my morality with "what if he had babies?"). I've started out with the hammer, which I think might be a "mistake", but any game with a hammer... I use the hammer.
I hated this game unfortunately. It didn't start as a Kirby game (as you noted) and I could tell right away. I ended up returning the game within a week. I just couldn't get behind it.
It was a major disappointment for me, and to call it Kirby's finest outing? That actually makes me angry when it shouldn't! Haha.
@frabbit I repeat the first two levels as much as possible, but mostly 1-2. There is a reason for that though. First reason is to unlock all the levels faster. The levels you vote for go into a queue. In the warp zone the right most level skips one level, the middle pipe skips two, and the left pipe skips three. So if I'm trying to unlock level 6-3, I vote for it and then head for the warp zone as much as possible until it pops up as one of the choices. If you can beat the level it will open up the next level in the list (as long as you have beaten all prior levels at least once.
The other reason is to farm coins. If you have the most coins you are more likely to be targeted by a lot of people. Then you start targeting attacker, which will send enemies to every single person attacking you. That is where you start going for levels with hammer bros, bloopers, and lakitus. You saw that video with all the lakitus right? This is how that happen. This method can spread enemies like a virus.
@nocdaes The warp zone in 1-2 isn't actually random. So there is some strategy. To start the level you vote gets thrown it some sort of a queue. The orders of the levels are pre chosen. If you take the flagpole exit in 1-2, you got to the next level in your queue. And for the warp zone the right most pipe skips one level in your queue, the middle pipe skips two levels, and the left most pipe skips three levels! This is especially helpful if you are trying to unlock all the levels. Keep choosing level 1-2 in the warp area until the level you choose pops up as one of the choices!
6/10. I miss-clicked on the height one. So I'm giving myself a 7/10. Also not European so those two were guesses, so 7/8 for me. XD
I missed the number of games on the gameboy. I knew about both dreamlands and pinball. I knew there was another but couldn't remember the name of it. So I was aware of four of five. Not bad I guess.
My take aways. New smash character from Arms - that is cool Borderlands coming - awesome game. bought it to play on my roommates xbox back in the day Ninjala is free to play -Nice! I wasn't even going to give this game a chance at first. looked like it was trying too hard to be like splatoon, plus big hammer mean I play. Smart move here. Star Wars episode 1 Pod Racer is coming -YES! One of those classic that I played to death. I can't wait!
As fun as dynamaxing is for making useless pokemon viable, it makes sense why it is banned. Dynamaxing was not balanced for singles at all, but it works perfectly in doubles.
Smogon isn't dying. People who think this takes the fun out of it needs to spend an hour in anything goes. You'll see why things get banned.
@Diogmites Spoink is basically the reason I'm fine with seeing all the pokemon spoiled before I buy one of the games now. I remember my first play through of Ruby. Catching my boy Spoink and getting excited about the little dude. Then he evolved. To me Grumpig was hideous. Needless to say I released my Grumpig. Spoink still has a soft spot in my heart though.
It seems like a lot of people haven't watched his most recent video talking about this situation.

In the other modern games they just hang the mouth open to signify they are talking right? Or am I'm miss remembering?
Exactly, older people can be ignorant too. Didn't say they couldn't. It is just more likely they are fool than ignorant since they have had more time to experience life.
Yes, they could be jaded. But being jaded isn't an excuse and it only hampers self growth.
@johnvboy "Why would being a teenager make one more ignorant"
Is that a real or rhetorical question? The definition of ignorant is lacking awareness or knowledge in general. Teenagers are younger and have less experience in general which gives them a higher chance of being ignorant.
Being ignorant isn't necessarily bad. What is bad is when someone ignorant gets information on said subject and refuses to accept it. They then are no longer ignorant, but they are a fool.
