A new Pokémon Presents broadcast has been confirmed for this week.
It will air on Sunday, February 27th at 14:00 UTC / 09:00 EST / 06:00 PST / 15:00 CEST / 23:00 JST. That's Pokémon Day, in case you were wondering.
It's not currently known what will be included, but it will last 14 minutes.
The Pokémon Company kicked off a week of announcements on Monday, February 21st.

Oh no. I’m nervous theyll announce a new main series title for this year. They need to wait and learn from Arceus imo.
don't get too excited everyone
Pokemon Legends Arceus DLC pls. I really want more of this game
Oh.
Well that takes care of that then!
Legends Arceus DLC 🙏🙏🙏
Double the map of Arceus and introduce gyms plus another city!
God I hope we get some sort of expansion for Legends Arceus. I’m not even done playing and I want more!
@CactusMan Interesting choice of word there.
So, Pokemon Direct on Sunday?
@CactusMan wasn’t there rumors/news of detective pikachu 2 still being in development recently?
The length of the Presents is closest to the first June 2020 Presents which announced Smile, Cafe Mix, Snap, updates for GO and more details on Isle of Armor DLC. Given what's already been announced for this week I'd guess what gets announced is:
@Grumblevolcano hmm I would like to see Pokken 2 get revealed but I am not getting my hopes up.
Arceus DLC please!
And Bank functionality
Not gonna happen, but I also wish the Pokemon VC games on 3DS would be made available too
I will remain cautiously optimistic, thus is the way of a lifelong trainer. lol.
I feel like these Pokemon presentations probably have like a 90% chance of having nothing interesting but you never know I suppose.
Pokemon trading Card game comes to Switch?
No idea. Pokemon GP lol.
@Grumblevolcano i'm expecting at least one spin-off announccemrnt but who knows
@Benaffect underated commment
Note: This was currently only announced in Japan. The Pokémon Company's English account has not yet uploaded this.
@GrailUK hmmmm pokemon TCG live did just move into beta... You might be onto something
@anoyonmus The reason I think Pokken 2 may happen is that for the Switch, 2022 is basically 2017 part 2 and 2017 got Pokken DX.
Calling it: BDSP Update, Legends Arceus DLC, Detective Pikachu 2, that's it.
Oh. and maybe another spinoff.
I'm betting Arceus DLC, Detective Pikachu 2, and better Home support
On a Sunday? Nani?!
@Grumblevolcano maybe.
...how does UTC 14:00 translate into eastern time?
Pokemon Sleep. LETS GO!
Looked it up and it’s gonna start at 9:00 am in eastern time. And we have meetings on Sunday...dang!
I don't need a new generation. especially with legends, but a lets go in Johto would be cool imo
I am once again asking for SOMETHING Mystery Dungeon related. We technically just got one in Legends Arceus when you think about it but I would love to play another one again (another remake perhaps?).
So… Pokémon Sleep? Maybe?
Also Detective Pikachu 2, since that was already in the news this week.
Hopefully they'll announce a date for BDSP and Legends Arceus Home support. I would like DLC too but I doubt that will happen now seeing as the game is only out a few weeks.
Dang, the Pokémon Company can't rest for five minutes, can they? You can question whether Pokémon fans have been eating good on Switch, but they've certainly been eating, whether they like what's on their plate or not.
Side note: I just picked up Legends Arceus, and I'm enjoying what little I've played so far. I've bought like 3 other Pokémon games in the past but always lost interest after about an hour of playing, lol. I'm really gonna try to commit to this one, and then hopefully go back and give the other ones I have a fair chance. I really want to like this franchise and have SOME connection to Pikachu, etc. when I'm playing Smash.
New apparel, Build-a-bear, new cards for the card game. Maybe Pokémon Monopoly.
EDIT 27 February 2022:
I’m eating my words… Pokémon Violet and Scarlet were revealed! From now on I’m keeping my mouth shut. I can’t believe this!
Like always, I'll go into this with low expectations, still though it's always interesting to see what gets announced.
@LiNeR Learn what, exactly? They literally released two games in the space of a few months that are going to sell around 20 million copies (if not more, especially in the case of Arceus).
Anyways, I am interested to see what's next for Pokemon, however, as I mentioned, we had two fairly major releases in the last few months, so I am not expecting they have much to show for the main series. Maybe there are interesting spin offs coming, at least that's my wish.
I want a new Pokemon Rumble game...
@Grumblevolcano this is exactly what I expect from it. I'd even add that I expect both Legends DLC and Let's Go, Johto.
@LiNeR 2022 will mark 3 years since Pokémon Sword e Shield was released, so a 2022 holiday release for gen 9 is very likely to happen.
anouncemt for gen 9 coming with a holiday release?
How do we know GF didn't already implement some of its lessons learned from Arceus into the new entries and that they're coming out this year even if they do announce gen 9? We don't, so I'd be open to a new gen mainline announcement.
@Grumblevolcano i think the Pokémon Company will anounce Gen 9 for a holiday 2022 release, after all, 2022 will mark 3 years since Pokémon Sword e Shield was released.
Does Sunday count as this week? Either way this is very unexpected.
Detective Lugia. Same plot as Detective Pikachu, but with a giant bird.
@CactusMan re·vile /rəˈvīl/ verb
criticize in an abusive or angrily insulting manner.
Detective Pikachu has been reviled since its release for its kindergarten-level puzzles and gameplay. The movie was much better received.
Wow, on a Sunday. That is unusual but cool.
15 min of excuses why they couldn’t simply add exp share off, and at the very end- EXP Share on/off included!
Not sure why everyone is so convinced we're getting PLA DLC. What would be the focus of it?
I don't think we're getting gen 9 this year either. Actually, I hope we're not. Take your time with it, and get ILCA to knock out Let's Go Johto if you absolutely need a holiday release.
@Giancarlothomaz i dont know if it was the A-team but Gamefreak also made Legends Arceus in-studio, so I’m somewhat doubtful
@LiNeR Its only 14 minutes so I'm moreso expecting an announcement of an announcement, best case they confirm work on the next game has begun.
I'm expecting Pokemon Legends Arceus DLC, more information on upcoming BDSP updates, and an update on Pokemon HOME. I'm hoping for a Let's Go Johto game, the NSO to add GB/GBC/GBA and DS Pokemon games, and an announcement for Gen V remakes. Normally I wouldn't hope for the remakes to come so quickly but I think it would great if they broke the remakes away from the one per generation model by sticking to the "faithful remakes" concept.
I'm expecting mobile stuff and possible DLC for Arceus. If they tease or show gen 9 I will be genuinely surprised.
Didn’t they say there would be announcements leading up to pokemon day? Were are those?
Arceus DLC is the best I’m hoping for. If it’s Gen 9 I can absolutely see it staying steadfast with the classic formula and I have zero interest in that now after Arceus. The constant stopping and starting of Shining Pearl was so overbearing that I just quit.
The headline is wrong, Sunday is TECHNICALLY next week.
I will be busy at that time stressing out my D&D group with a certain vampire, but these generally aren't as interesting as the generic Directs.
I’m thinking the main announcement is either going to be Pokémon Mystery Dungeon or Pokémon Ranger. It’s too soon for a new mainline game. I would also think that DLC for Arceus or Snap could be in the cards.
I'm going to go off on a limb and predict that Pokemon Home gets an update where we can battle friends using the app instead of having to use a game. I give this about a 0.000...01% chance to happen.
Let's all remember not to get our hopes up too high.
@Grumblevolcano
Pretty much agree with your list outside of Let's Go Johto, which won't be released just one year after BD/SP.
Arceus DLC with an April release
Hoping for another Pokken or Mystery Dungeon remake, the ones we had on Switch were great. Really hoping we don't get a Gen 9 announcement and that the two mainline games they just released get some breathing space
Being that we are on a Gen 4 streak, my guess would be Mystery Dungeon Time/Darkness/Sky remakes. Also hilarious how many people are hoping for remakes/spinoffs this year and not a a mainline Gen 9 game lol (I agree, it's too soon but 2024 would feel appropriate).
@FireRabbit There's no way it's just an announcement of an announcement. 14 minutes is plenty of time for some trailers.
or in the case of a gen 9 announcement, a brief "look at the history of Pokemon" intro and a trailer or two showing off the game. (the gen 8 reveal was under 8 minutes after all)
Not that I think we're definitely getting gen 9 announcements, just that the length of this direct doesn't rule anything out by itself.
@CactusMan
If you check out Nintendolife comments for each game you’d think they’re all reviled.
Its Pokemon Blazing Emerald with a whole new Faraway Island event
@Moonlessky There have been announcements, just small ones:
Which leaves a music announcement tomorrow and a GO announcement on Saturday.
Even if we don’t get gen 9, IMO we are 100% getting a new major spinoff at minimum.
@LiNeR Game Freak have two development team/divisions, one could have worked on Pokémon Legend Arceus and the another on Gen 9
My predictions:
-Legends DLC
-Home connectivity for BDSP and Legends
-GWS update for BDSP
-Update on previously announced games like Detective Pikachu 2 and Pokemon Sleep
-Maybe some new spinoffs announced
-Maybe a teaser for Gen 9, but no concrete information on it yet (probably a cryptic announcement like "the next core game is in development" and then we don't get a full announcement until 2023)
The most I'm expecting is just Pokemon Legends dlc and maybe another pokemon game (probably a spinoff title) set for holiday this year or next year.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they at least tease Gen 9. It doesn't have to (and should not) come out this year. But I would take a tease.
And yes, some Legends DLC would be nice to hear and maybe some GB/GBA/DS/3DS games ported to the Switch in some fashion as well.
My predications:
1. Gen 9 or Let’s go Johto remakes or something
2. More mobile games
3. Pokken 2
4. Legends dlc
Chances of all happening: 0
@CactusMan You said "reviled" as in despised opposed to "revived" which is probably what you intended to say
revealing gen 9 in this presentation would be the most game freak thing to do ever
@LiNeR they have already started development on it even before the release of Arceus. 😂. It's pokemon. A new game is always in development.
come on baby, daddy needs a new Pokken Tournament..
Only 14 minutes? Will that be enough for the kind of announcements I'm expecting?
I really hope Legends Arceus is getting DLC (both free and paid), so for how much time could that be featured? 7 minutes maybe? Then the other minutes could be for something else. Hopefully only related to unannounced stuff. I mean you have the days of announcements for all the other stuff that was just revealed right?
Some are thinking about Gen 9 already. It sounds exciting to see a new region and new Pokémon, but Game Freak already had their work on PLA (which IMO is the true first Gen 9 game, Generations were always about leaps). Some rumours also speak about a certain game by Creatures Inc that had been announced for almost 3 years now.
Eh, at this point I'm done with Pokemon entirely...I'm just gonna hope that something for New Snap is announced or something.
Probably an announcement for the new Detective Pikachu 2 movie and a new mobile game perhaps. This presentation is by the Pokemon Company and not Nintendo so no console game related announcement will happen.
I'll laugh if they announce a half gen following shield and sword after everyone agreed that DLCs were a better way to handle half gen. The DLC would be a quarter gen?
I'm guess Bank update announcement and either Legends DLC or another remake made by a Third-Party Dev - either HGSS, Let's Go Johto, or Platinum. And yes I think TPC is scummy enough to remake a third game after selling remakes of the first two.
@Mauzuri That's possible, but we do know Creatures is working on Detective Pikachu 2 but have not seen it yet. They could finally show it.
Arceus dlc or bust
Well, I kinda saw this coming, I wonder why they just didn’t announce this when they originally announced their week of announcements?
I'd kill for a new Pokémon Pinball game.
@Grumblevolcano thanks for this! Although I knew I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up for something other than max raid news for swsh 😂
I absolutely hope that there is NO DLC for Arceus unless this is to be followed by a revised physical edition like Sword/Shield was, in which case, they can make as much DLC as they like.
I'm hoping for Johto remakes + Legends: Celebi though.
If Black + White is ever remade, I hope they make it a two-in-one release with their respective sequels included as well.
@Grumblevolcano
My bets are on your predictions being the most likely. (see Post #13)
@Silly_G Regarding B/W and B2/W2. You know they won't because $. They will sperate them all.
@AlexanderDaniels Gen 7 was on 3DS, Gen 8 was on Switch, 3 on 3 years, a new Pokemon generation is released
2010:gen 5(DS)
2013:gen 6(3DS)
2016: Gen 7(3DS)
2019:gen 8(Switch)
2022: gen 9?(Switch)
see on 3 on 3 years, a new Pokemon generation is released.
