Remember Palworld? That game that showed a bunch of cute Pokémon-like creatures working in a sweatshop factory, making guns? It's back with a new trailer, and this one also has Pokémon passing out on the floor of a grimy weapon factory.
It also has a big Totoro with an automatic gun, dinosaur Pokémon legally distinct creatures eating penguins, a big sky-whale, animals getting exploded, and then those same Totoros tied to hospital beds in a grungy hospital/torture room. Does it look cool? Absolutely. Does it look like Pokémon? Yeah, until the rifles come out, at least.
We're dying to know what The Pokémon Company thinks of all this. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

From the article alone I can see derivatives of Piplup, Wooloo, Leafeon, Oshawott/Psyduck, Lucario, maybe Lycanroc.
Even if this game ends up being not great, it looks silly as heck and like a fun time. I’m absolutely keeping an eye out, this is such a fun and goofy premise.
I love how this doesn't fit at all. Hope there is great gameplay behind the premise
If it survives the lawsuit, I’ll give it a go
But the gun shoots love, right? 😧
(😉😉)
I probably don't have a right to complain on a free news site that doesn't owe me anything, but I've been getting a little annoyed lately with the amount of articles on fan games, hacks, mods, emulators, and other personal projects. I'm really just here for official Nintendo news, but this past week in particular, I feel like all the legit stuff is buried in a sea of user-created stuff I just couldn't care less about. No offense to the talented people who pour their heart (gold) and soul (silver) into this stuff, but it's just not for me. Wish it were all in a separate section altogether instead of mixed in with the News articles.
Are we unable to describe indie games with out comparing them to something else?
Ah, this must be the Pokemon Gun I've heard so much about.
@acNewUpdates absolutely, but this isn't really that kind of case. It's blatantly based on Pokémon (and Totoro).
@RupeeClock Murkrow is in there too when the yellow totoros are strapped down.
"Totoro: It cost four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon for twelve seconds!"
I gotta admit, that Totoro-esque character with a gun got my attention.
Gameplay and story aside, why does this look a few generations better than Legends Arceus?
@Skid
Watching the video, I also saw something resembling a mix of Reshiram and Zoroark.
This actually looks kinda interesting just for the novelty xD
So many of these creatures are blatant rip-offs of existing Pokemon though. I'd be surprised if The Pokemon Company didn't try to shut this down.
I don't think the creature and visual design lends itself well to the world its trying to convey. I think its still somewhere between being too cutesy and ultra gritty and should just commit to one or the other.
@acNewUpdates @RupeeClock The entire point of this game is that the creatures are vey clearly knock-offs of Pokemon. It's meant to be mocking the whole brand.
@Ogbert
I have to wonder about the merits of the game outside of it basically being a s***post.
Totoro is sick of you laying on his belly.
This is dumb on so many levels. Heck, if Mr Blobby can get to number one and Boris Johnson get the keys to No. 10, I dare say it will do well in the UK.
(sigh)
Anime was a mistake.
Pokemon with guns? Do you mean Digimon?
If the trailer wasn't so well made I'd quickly dismiss this as a joke. It looks genuinely interesting, albeit very weird. Though I feel like every not-pokemon was made with Pokemon fusion: Electabuzz + Totoro, Pachirisu + Leafeon, Reshiram + Zoroark and many more
Pretty interesting concept, but doesn’t show a lot of gameplay yet
I might actually pick this up at a reasonable price. The concept sounds hilarious, and I need to play some more middling but funny games.
The graphics look considerably more detailed than the last trailer, iirc. Guess this isn't coming to Switch
Looks great, though it won’t look this good on switch. We’ll see?
It's almost as if the English lyrics to the opening theme to My Neighour Totoro also applied to Pokémon...
Hey, let's go! Hey, let's go!
I'm happy as can be
Let's go walking you and me
Ready, set, come on, let's go!
Over the hills, across the field, through the tunnel we'll go
We'll run across the bridge and down the bumpy gravel road
Right beneath the spider's web
Ready, set, let's go!
Hey, let's go! Hey, let's go
I'm happy as can be
Let's go walking you and me
Ready, set, come on, let's go!
The foxes and the badgers too all come out to play
They all want to explore the deep and wonderful woods all day
Look at all my many friends
Ready, set, let's go!
Look at all my many friends
Ready, set, let's go!
@Not_Soos I'm not sure this qualifies as a fan-game as it seems more like a parody, could be wrong though
I want it.
badly.
@RupeeClock yeah it's an odd one. It's especially weird as the parody seems to me to be quite damning of the core concept of 'using' these monsters for your own gain (which is debatable in the narrative of the game, but also one they occasionally touch on), yet the designs are copying all generations right up to Sword and Shield... so clearly someone loves the brand.
...Will Turniphead and No-Face be in this game as well?
No. I turned my attention from Pokemon to Digimon now. I would like to see more Digimon on Nintendo Switch as I am still a diehard fan of the series but no this game is not in my interest.
I've watched both trailers and I still don't know what the game is about.
My thought process while watching this trailer:
uhhhhhhh-ow-uhhhhhhhhhhhhh-oh jeez-uhhhhhUHHHHHHHHHHHH-OH GOD-uhhhhhhhhhhh.
