@doctorhino As far as I can tell, there’s less than 10 in the top 50 listed here. Take a look at the top 50 PS4 games on Metacritic, and you’ll find more than 15.
While looking at the top 50 PS3 games, it’s striking how many sequels there was. Seems like the top 50 consists of more than 35 numbered sequels, most of them using the same engine as a previous entry on the PS3.
@doctorhino Re-releases has always been a part of video games, no matter platform: Computers, Atari, Commodore, Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft. And people buy the games.
I love the gameplay in Zelda II. What I don’t like is all the hidden stuff and cryptic hints (without some sort of guide you’ll never find the hidden village, for instance) and the fact that you have to start over from Zelda’s castle everytime you die.
I don’t know much about game development, but in my job, people sometimes quit because they are moving, got a job with better pay, are starting on their own etc. When that happens, we hire new people to taker their role. We don’t start over from scratch, though.
@Ludovsky Well, it’s not as if Nintendo’s consoles are a piece of art either, but at least the Wii and Wii U could easily blend in with the rest of the TV setup. The Switch have a rather odd looking design, but with black Joy Con and a modest size I can live with it. I’m rather fond of my Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, though (both black). Hopefully both Microsoft and Sony will release something similar in the future.
The combination of big and ugly is not a good one. I own every generation PlayStation, but not sure if I’ll get this one. Perhaps when there’s a large library of exclusives and if Sony makes a smaller / less ugly version.
Not too happy about the Limited Edition with no cart gimmick, but extremely happy than Nintendo is releasing a translated version of the game. Hopefully it sells well so Nintendo will translate the rest.
In my opinion, Microsoft and Sony are digging their own (console) graves, as they’re both going to release their «exclusive» games for PC as well. If you want both Xbox and PlayStation games, buy a PC.
If the game was good otherwise, I wouldn’t mind a long unlock process, as it can keep the game alive. Based on the rest of the review, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Damn!
I don’t understand why they won’t sell there in stores, bundled with a one year subscription. Cost me a fortune to import these last time around - paid almost twice the price of the Switch Pro Controller.
I wonder if Nintendo is holding back because of the imminent launch of PS5 and Series X, or if they are struggling big time to make and/or finish new games.
About time! I’ve been sitting here for 23 years, playing Tetris and Side Pocket while waiting for a new game to release. Now my $10.000 investment in batteries finally pays off. Who’s laughing now?
@Don The SEGA Master System was quite popular in Brazil. Many games were launched exclusively for the Brazilian market (as the rest of the world had moved on to 16 and 32 bit systems by that point), and legend has it that the Master System kept selling since launch in the late 1980s until the early 2010s.
@Ogbert I was thinking more of the «whole load of other» sales that North America aren’t getting. As far as I can tell, North America have all the games you linked to at equal or better sale.
@Friendly There are several. Just to mention some of the games currently on my wish list: Transistor (85 percent off in US, not discounted in Europe), Dead Cells (40 percent off in US, not discounted in Europe), Bastion (85 percent off in US, not discounted in Europe), Huntdown (30 percent off in US, 10 percent off in EU), Trine 2: Complete Story (70 percent off in US, not discounted in Europe).
Hopefully some of these will get discounts later today.
Edit: Had to remove some of the games I listed, as it turned out it was the physical version that was discounted.
@Ogbert @DarkTron No, they’re not the same as far as I can tell. Some are the same, as the article mentions, but far from all.
@Friendly I could of course make another profile, but buying games with American dollars would still make the games more expensive than if I got the percentage discount in my own currency.

So, Wario is not related to Kaiser Wilhelm II, even though they have the same moustache? So ein Mist!

Re: SNK Apologises For "Offensive Ad" Featuring Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard
I’m not sure why anyone would be offended by this. If anything, this just highlights that what Terry did is not acceptable behaviour.
I find it rather strange, though. Why would they like one of their «heroes» to act like a sleazebag in the first place.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #64 - International Superstar Soccer 98
Valderama on a cover in 1998 is kind of random.
Wasn’t aware that there were two covers in Europe. I believe Paul Ince is on the one I own (Scandinavia).

Re: Switch Indie Sale Offers Up To 40% Off, Including Some Games From Yesterday's Showcase
@DarkTron You’re probably right, as the discounts I’ve seen in the US are probably Indie games that are not part of the Indie World sale.
When it comes to «cheaper to buy in the EU», that depends on which country you’re in / which currency you’re using.

Re: Nintendo Announces 'Share The Fun' Switch Sale, Up To 75% Off Multiplayer Games (Europe)
@IronMan30 Just hit the «Sales» tag on top of the articel, and you can see how often you see «North America» compared to «Europe».
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Collector's Edition Listing Appears On Retailer Website
If Europe gets a real version this time, I’ll probably pick it up.
