Re: Nintendo To Merge Its European Subsidiaries Into One Big Organisation

@DarthFoxMcCloud You're right, we got special editions of Triangle Strategy, Astral Chain and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, while you didn't.

Now, here's a list of things we didn't get, that you did:

Physical versions of the following games:

  • Blaster Master Zero (I, II and III)
  • Castlevania: Anniversary Collection
  • Cave Story +
  • Contra: Anniversary Collection
  • Golf Story
  • six different Mega Man Legacy collections
  • at least four different Shantae games - several of them in both standard and special editions
  • Yooka-Laylee - both standard

(At least we could buy the games on the eShop, which we couldn't do when Final Fantasy I, IV and VI, Dragon Quest I, II, III and IV, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG launched in North America only.)

The following special editions were better in North America than in Europe:

  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Fire Emblem Warriors
  • Octopath Traveler
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2

And we never got a special edition of these:

  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light Anniversary Edition
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Limited Edition
  • Persona 5 Royal (two different versions)

I'm sure I'm missing something both ways, but to claim that you're constantly overlooked … I don't know what to say.

@DarthFoxMcCloud Where do you get this idea? Seems like most the times there's a special edition, the North American one is much better. It started with Breath of the Wild. It's not only Nintendo's own IP. How about the TMNT Cowabunga Collection and the lacklustre special edition compared to the North American. In addition, the North American market gets several physical releases, where we only get digital versions in Europe.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Piece Of Music In A Nintendo Game?

Sinton

My favorites are the intro music from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Fire Emblem Awakening, as well as the music from the trailer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I also love «the song» from Super Mario World, in all its different variations.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Mario's Movie Voice?

Sinton

I didn't mind it. If this movie was released before the internet, nobody would've cared if Mario was somewhat altered or his voice sounded different. I don't even recall what Mario sounded like in the cartoons way back when.

Re: We Might Get A Brand New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game In 2023

Sinton

@Wilforce I don't believe the Batman and Spider-Man games on arcades, Commodore 64, NES, SNES etc. have much in common with the Arkham games or the new Spider-Man games. I do agree about Nick/Paramount though. I had high hopes when PlatinumGames were making a game, but it turned out to be one of their c studios creating it. But someone like Rocksteady would make a killing.

Re: The Hardest Games On Nintendo Switch

@Luigivaldo Absolutely, it's a good game. A bit too cryptic (perhaps because of translation) to be great, but agree on the mechanics and music.

Someone should make some sort of «hints but not quite game guide» guide for new players.

Re: The Hardest Games On Nintendo Switch

Haven't played the Switch version, but 100 percented Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U, and that final level is one of the hardest levels I've ever completed.

Another hard game released today (the original TMNT, where I've only managed to finish the final level with the help of save states), and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is available through NSO, without a doubt one of the hardest games I've ever beaten (though mostly because it's cryptic, it's probably not so hard if you have a guide).

Re: Poll: What's The Best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game?

While not my favorite, I'd just like to say that the original NES game is not as bad as people claim today. It was rather well thought of for like 15 years, before AVGN ranted on it. I'd say it's a good, not great game.

(I've never understood why people complain so much about the underwater level, either. There must be 100 harder levels on the NES.)
