@CTmatic No, no gear. You earn Super Sea Shells based on how many points you scored for your team. Max is 24 for the winning team and 22 for the losing team.

They better re-issue the gear from 2018 splatoween, the angler fish mask, friday 13th hockey mask, devil horns, and that zombie hat thing, so all the newbs can get them. If I recall, they were a download from a switch news tile. New halloween monster masks would be cool too.

@CTmatic There were event exclusive halloween masks for the 2018 splatoween. It would be nice if they re-issue them. But don't get your hopes up too high.

@WoomyNNYes you can get them via splatnet app, or find somebody wearing them and buy from them.

mind you buying gear form splatnet is rng what shows up I don't know when/if stuff shows up, but promo gear can be bought from it sometimes.

E: nintendo has announced via twitter that they will be avaible for all via news post in game. so do that.

As someone who bought a Switch and Splatoon 2 after the "final" Chaos vs Order Splatfest, I'm loving that they're still doing them. Team Trick for me, since I'm in a mischievous mood.

@CTmatic Oh, look at that! @Musharna pointed out above, nintendo of america twitter announced the splatoween gear will be available for download from a news article on the switch. When the article gets posted on your switch, you can snag the gear.

Even the Splatocalypse was almost a full year late and we got a full year of added support. And while that's great, and so are the re-run splatfests, the reason isn't ...

It's because the ENTIRE Splatoon's team was moved to working on Animal Crossing, and Splatoon 3 is delayed 2-3 years.

We were promised 2 REPEATS, so I think the Mario 35 is just a bonus ... ummm ... bonus. We have one more repeat, which will be Octovest (or Squidmas, celebrate what you want, I'm not going to judge).

And personally, I think they will redo order vs. chaos when they are ready to announce Splatoon 3.

I'm honestly confused with the direction of Splatoon 2. They "ended" Splatfests with the Final Fest, with the intention of bringing players over to Animal Crossing, yet here they are, continuing Splatfests like there was no ending.

Sure, these are RETURNING Splatfest themes, but it's still a Splatfest and it certainly doesn't look very good if they're half-inclined to keep Splatoon 2 alive.

Seriously, not making something awesome like Splatoon Island just to waste away that time with stupid rehashes like this just to waste everyone's times when we already know Pearl the toddler-goblin is just gonna win anyways is seriously squandering not only time, but everyone's patience. These reruns are as old as time itself and it needs to cease because it's just only gonna result in toxicity and elitism and spiteful hatred and such on both sides, regardless of peoples' words are well-intentioned or not.

You clowns can keep defending it all you want, but being in denial that this truly wastes everyone's patience(s) and time and emotions by turning them negative is a path towards screaming obscenities and such at each other and I'll end up being proven right. So get off your high-horses while you can.

As for Nintendo: Cease this waste of time and such and admit that only Pearl's side will win 99% of these and move on and hire people from outside and get stuff like Splatoon Island made..

You don't do that unless it's a direct sequel. Ideally you want people playing and buying BOTH games. Splatoon will have a project head who's goal is to keep people playing as much as possible, Animal Crossing will have a project head who's goal is to get people to play.

Unless, ya know, the creative director of Splatoon IS the creative director of the animal crossing series. That's what happened ... they pulled him from Splatoon 3 development to fix animal crossing after it was delayed for the second time. So the time line of ending Splatoon support then having a shot gap before building hype with Splatoon 3 got messed up, so they went back to promoting Splatoon 2.

Splatoon 3 is delayed 2-3 years. It's not even officially in development any more given the retire team is working on Animal Crossing.

That's my point through. Because they have the same development team, they shouldn't say something without fully knowing what their future schedule would be like.

It wasn't planed. They DIDN'T have the same development team until the Animal Crossing team made a game and it sucked. Then they delayed the game and needed to call in someone to fix it on the quick ... so they took Hisashi Nogami, who directed the first 3 games, off Splatoon 3 ... as well as his whole team.

I don't think he was happy about it either. He's showed up at every promo event in his "Squid Research Lab" coat, the first in game footage we ever got of the game was him showing off a squid, and when giving a blank check for an event to promote Animal Crossing, he put together a 45 min "Off the hook" concert and had KK play for like 3 minutes to open.

Splatoon 3 isn't happening until Switch's replacement in 2022.

More like 2023, maybe as late as 2024. It's release window was late 2021, it's delayed 2 years, and that's before the pandemic.

Sad, but I don't think we'll get it for a while.

@HeadPirate where did you get that info? I'm pretty sure Nintendo is replacing the switch in 2 years or even less and it makes no sense to release Splatoon 3 when Splatoon 2 exists and it's still very active.

Safe to assume that Splatfests are officially back on for Splatoon 2 at this point. That "last Splatfest" was greatly exaggerated.

@jcboyer515 The toxic, vocal minority ruined it (Splatfests) for me and I'm just absolutely exhausted by it. Nobody really ever gets along and are always hurling insults at each other and it's just draining to read and even watch.

My teams were garbage when I played so no wonder Team Trick lost. I'm starting to realize why I stopped playing Splatoon altogether now.

That too. The more popular team always has mirror matches and it's annoying. Wish they could just add an option to turn mirror matching off. I'd rather wait a bit longer if it means my match won't be a waste of time.

I am amazed Treat won. My butt was being kicked so many times in the matches that it took me longer than usual to actually get to "King/Queen" status. I did win a 10x battle at one point, though I didn't realise that match was a 10x until after the battle as I wasn't paying attention at the beginning of that match.

Gimme all the treats.

I had a ball with the tri-slosher this splafest. Glad treat won, because I lost the last two splatfests, I think. Won a 10x battle.

Yay Team Treat! Kinda bummed that I didn't get to do a single 10x or 100x match though (hopefully next time). Team Trick played hard though. I got beat enough times that it was hard for me to guess which team was going to come out on top.

A shame! I was on Trick & my team was on fire, we got two 10x and a 100× battle in quick succession. Was fun seeing our names on the news reel for both.

Ah well can't wait until the next Splatfest!
