@YoshiAngemon And Wonder Boy: Monster Land has been released as a SEGA AGES title, while Wonder Boy in Monster World is part of the SEGA Mega Drive Classics collection.
Perhaps (probably?) they're already on Switch (or other platforms), but I'd also like to suggest Art of Balance, EDGE, Freedom Planet, Gunman Clive HD Collection, Little Inferno, Runbow, Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones, Thomas Was Alone, Toki Tori and Toki Tori 2+.
We'll finally get Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch.
Or Bionic Commando, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness, Legendary Wings, Section Z and 1943: The Battle of Midway will join the NSO NES lineup.
@Moistnado There's probably no point in trying to convince you otherwise, as your mind seems to be set, but I subscribed for NSO for a month (or two?), bought the controllers, stopped subscribing, and have used them while playing the 40 or so NES games I've bought on Switch (such as those I mentioned in my original post) as well as on my PC playing some NES games released on Steam (such as the Disney Afternoon Collection). I don't need to have a NSO subscription for any of those. (But I do need my Switch for the games on Switch and for charging.)
@ParadoxFawkes That depends. You can still use them on PC if you have one, or on one of the many non-NSO NES games you can buy on Switch (Castlevania Collection, Mega Man Collection, Contra Collection, the Kunio-kun Collection, Namco Museum Archives 1 & 2, SNK Collection etc.). That's more than 40 NES games.
I'd prefered if they just started out with, say, 5-6 launch games, and rather released one game every week. It's the lack of schedule that annoys me the most.
@Atariboy I've never heard of those before, but looking at the list of released games on Game Spot's GameFAQs, I see they also released Star Castle which I know of (though I've never tried it).
It's strange how all these games aren't readily available to paying customers: the games themselves have already been made! Fix it now and you can keep selling it for the next 50 years instead of letting it rot on a harddisc.
@Atariboy Yeah, the non-Atari Games arcade games are available through the Atari Flashback Classics, with Battlezone being one of the few exceptions (not sure who owns the rights to the licensed games, such as Star Wars and Tetris, but we'll probably never see those again anyway).
The Cinematronics games are also available on Switch already, through the Dragon Lair's Trilogy.
It would be interesting to see Exidy games getting the Hamster treatment, though!
@Atariboy I believe Warner owns about every single non-Japanese released arcade game, including Marble Madness and those originally published by Atari Games.
Several great games on that list, but to me it's hard to look past games such as Space Invaders, Pac-Man and Tetris. I doubt many will still play, say, The Last of Us or GTA V in 2050.
Strange that important games such as Pong and Asteroids are omitted, though.
I have no confidence in Square Enix remastering anything. Why can't they just release the original games? Are no-one buying the games Namco, Capcom and Konami etc. are re-releasing?
@Tempestryke Not sure if serious or not, but I can assure you I spoke to every single NPC, probably twice. With better hints (I'm guessing alot went missing in translation), I would've beaten this game in half the time it took me.
When will they ever release the rest of the original Master System games on modern consoles? The Sonic games, Psycho Fox, the Asterix games, Land of Illusion, The Lucky Dime Caper, Fantasy Zone II, Master of Darkness, Ninja Gaiden, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World etc.
I'm a bit confused by the naming of the SF2-games (well, who isn't). Is the Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting mentioned here the same as Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting that's part of the 30th Anniversary Collection?
Will pick this up down the line. With Pac-Man, Rally-X and Mappy out, there's still hope for games like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, Pole Position and Pole Position II getting a release.
Sounds great! In addition to the plethora of good NES and SNES games missing (Capcom, Konami/Hudson, Sunsoft, Square/Enix, Taito, Tecmo), there are several other consoles that really need some love (Master System, PC Engine, Saturn, Jaguar, 3DO, N64, PSX etc.)
I think it's a bit pricey, but I don't understand the hate. I could understand it if this was mandatory to play online, but as it is, you either think it's worth it and pay up, or you think it's not worth it, and you keep your wallet shut. No one needs this extra service.

Re: Wonder Boy Collection Is Coming To Switch This Year
@OorWullie Sorry, confused myself. I have Monster Land through the SEGA Mega Drive Mini. I guess this collection is not completely useless, then.
Re: Wonder Boy Collection Is Coming To Switch This Year
@OorWullie I thought it was Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair that was missing from the Switch version? Is it both?

This is a lacklustre collection or what?
Re: Atlus Announces Soul Hackers 2, But It's Not Coming To Switch
Strange that it's coming to PS4 but not Switch. Could understand if it was PS5/XSX/PC only.

Dimly lit alien-like corridor? I thought that was Samus leaving her ship. (At least that's much more symbolic: adventure's about to begin.)
Re: Random: Disney's Chip 'n Dale Reboot Features A Cute Nod To The 1990 NES Game
I fail to understand the logic behind not releasing the Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch.

@tourjeff That is (unfortunately) what they called it back in 2008.

How about a Mortal Kombat Collection?
Re: Video: Nintendo Fixed* The Water Emulation In Ocarina Of Time On Switch
That's good, but will hold off getting the service until they've made it even better.

The most underrated game of 2021 is Wrestling Empire. If you enjoy wrestling and/or the Aki N64-games, give it a try. It's silly fun.

Zelda II only have two problems: lack of actual hints, and the fact that you have to start from the starting point when you die.
