With some modern polish (adding actual hints, not hiding things that's near impossible to find without a guide, not sending you back to the beginning when you’re game over), this would've been a fantastic game. At least you feel real accomplishment when you beat it.

This should mean that they're making a new collection or service, but with SEGA you never know. It's 2024, and I still can't buy a collection of Master System or Saturn games.

@MontyCircus Most are games developed and/or released by Atari, but there are some exceptions, like the M Network (Mattel) games.

Let's hope they can make a deal in the future with Activision, Parker Brothers, Taito, Namco and/or whoever owns the rights to Imagic's games and Battlezone. As it is, this is what's possible for the 2600.

I'm still not sure what games are in this «anniversary edition». Are the PC, Dreamcast, PSX, N64 and GBC versions all part of this, or are they just meshed into one game?

Doubt there'll be anything before the holdiays, and if so, it will be focusing on the games that are coming out in 2024. The next major direct will be in 2025.

Zero was released on the SNES in Scandinavia, so it wasn't a North America exclusive.

Don't understand why Sega won't release more from their catalogue. Why can't I spend money on the Alex Kidd games, Golden Axe, After Burner, Ninja Gaiden etc.? They could've had like 10 different collections.

@Bass_X0 If you're thinking about North America, however, I believe you're right (Super Mario World, F-Zero and SimCity).

@Bass_X0 I believe it was released in September along with A Link to the Past.

Super Mario World, Super Tennis, Super Soccer, Super R-Type and F-Zero are listed as launch games in Norway/Sweden, at least (with Super Castlevania IV releasing a couple of months later).

With the additon of Super R-Type, all the launch games for the SNES in Europe are currently available through NSO.

Would love to order this, but sadly Nintendo Norway (Bergsala) hates their customers, so it's not possible.

Prefer this art style over all the later incarnations. Would prefer if they go back to the source material or first cartoon series, though.

Just give us Atari controllers for the Switch already.

Just give us all the original arcade and Master System games on a modern console or Steam. It's ridiculous that so many of the classics are unavailable to purchase in 2023. Throw in Saturn and Dreamcast while you're at it.

That's too bad, I enjoyed E3 far more than Summer Game Fest etc. You knew Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft etc. would bring their A-game. Now it's all a little bit more iffy, in my opinion.

@FullMetalWesker Absolutely, and you can colorize Citizen Kane and Casablanca, write Shakespeare in todays language and let Taylor Swift record Edith Piaf's entire catalogue in English with new and modern recording equipment. It would probably find new audiences. Heck, the live-action version of The Lion King is the seventh-highest grossing film of all time, so it's clearly a wise business idea.

I'd rather they spent their resources on entirely new ideas, however, plus concentrate on giving us the classics with quality emulation. But that's just my point of view.

@larryisaman Remakes are not about accessability, though. It's about making money. Playing Link's Awakening in it's original form wouldn't be any harder or worse an experience on the Switch than playing the HD remake. And the remakes do stop the originals getting re-released (like Link's Awakening, Super Mario RPG, the entire Gamecube catalogue).

With save states and rewind features, I don't see the need for remakes at all.

@larryisaman I'm pretty sure you can «get into» the Metroid series without playing the first two games. And video games 40-50 years ago are closer to video games today, than books, films and music from their infant days. I've yet to hear anyone say we need a rewrite of The Iliad or Shakespeare for modern audiences, someone singing The Beatles or Elvis in a more contemporary way, or someone born in the 2000s talking about how good Citizen Kane or Rear Window are.

@NintendoByNature I'd rather have a brand new Zelda game with similar game mechanics. (Or just a decent translation of the original.)

@Quiet2down If the game is good enough to play, it's good enough. If not, just make a new game. Remakes of games, films, TV-shows, music, books. Pointless in my opinion.

No game in the history of video games have ever needed a remake.

Just release old Disney games already. Why in 2023 can't I buy Capcom's DuckTales on every single platform known to humankind?

The Kunio-kun game was released as part of the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle. It's supposedly very good.

Love the art style. Wish Nintendo would make a Mario game in this art style.
