It's an obvious 4/1 joke, but having a way to get through hard sections without simply watching the rest of the game on Youtube would count as an accessibility aid, I'd say.
Switch is the only thing I've got that can play this right now, so while I will wait for a sale, I either need to get this and ignore the technical issues or drop the idea altogether.
I don't want it to become standard. I like having games that don't need reflexes.
That said, I don't mind if some Pokemon games use it, even mainline games. I simply don't want to feel shut out of Pokemon because my reaction timing is off.
You worry about aging hands, but I worry about aging eyes. I tried to get into the 2DS late in its life, but couldn't stand how small the screen was. So while it's not likely to matter to me how big the Switch is (docked-only for life!), I can't agree with smaller screen sizes.
I find it weird that "publishers don't want you to block them" means anything because visibility doesn't change my purchasing decisions. We can already block them mentally.
@MontyCircus If that's what's going on, then I'm even more on board with consoles, and even more on board with consoles where the games don't have big memory requirements. Because not everyone has the connection speed to stream games.
My two answers of "Too much" and "Less than US$40" come with a caveat that they're due to my current economic situation and might change if I had more money.
But my real feeling is that game developers make too many "high quality" games, and should go back to simpler graphics and other cost-saving measures.
Tears of the Kingdom did not compel me the same way Breath of the Wild did, and I burned out on trying to do everything before Ganondorf, so I don't feel much compulsion to finish.
But I might one day: it took me something like 20 years to get back to Link to the Past and fight the final Ganon battle, so I don't feel any pressure to hurry.
If it helps anyone as much as it did me, the endings are available on the Hollow Knight wiki. If you want to earn them yourself that's great, but it took a lot of weight off me knowing I didn't need to finish to see those.
I was reminded elsewhere that this isn't the first or longest time a sequel has been delayed. And compared to games that have been released in unfinished states just to hit a date, I don't want Silksong to suffer that fate.
@CJD87 It's okay if you don't like something many other people like. I'd probably have an easier time counting all the games I liked the same as the majority than not.
I can kind of see where Team Cherry is coming from with any silence: the reputation of video game fans overreacting has only seemed to grow over the years. It may seem safer to them to communicate absolutely nothing until they have good news.
I just shrug my shoulders; it's not my job to police this. Considering I can't even play this game (Nintendo and Mac user), I don't even have the choice whether or not I silently support one or the other (and let's face it: no one would even notice if I chose).
I'm kind of getting annoyed at these poll choices that make it hard to tell if I'm simply choosing a "positive/negative", or am going to be judged. I choose "Professor who?" because it sounded less confrontational than the "No Way!" option, but my real opinion is that I'm not interested in these games.
I like that Prehistoric Paradoxes are each their own design (some more than others). Whereas the Robot Paradoxes generally seem like copies of their inspirations with a chrome job (Iron Valiant being a stand-out).
I recently looked this up, and the article I found pointed out that playing Season second results in more connections to the story of Ages than the other way around. To the point of which General Onox mentions hearing about Link, but Veran will not.
I have no proof of this, and cannot even figure out where I read that, so there's no reason to believe me.
What did it for me was not that there was too much to do, but that there seemed to be a lot more enemies all over. Barring places with patrolling Guardians and the like, BotW felt peaceful and relaxing. TotK, by contrast, had too many people and people-like monsters: it felt crowded, and I don't like crowds.
I feel that after three 3D games where people have complained about the graphics, Pokemon needs to stop trying and go back to 2D graphics. Focus on being great at something else.
I bounced hard off TotK, so I'm leery of the idea of them making another Zelda game set in this Hyrule. I feel like for TotK they recycled BotW too much, including elements of the plot that only worked the first time, and I'm paranoid now that if another game is set in the same setting that said pattern will repeat for a third time.

Re: Poll: Is It About Time Game Freak Added Voice Acting To Pokémon?
Game Freak should focus on making their games cheaper.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
For the price of this game, I can get multiple games I want more for Steam Deck.
Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2
@contractcooker
I can't even play games that long, so I wouldn't know.
Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2
You don't need the Deck Dock, just a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
That's all I need to say: I'll let people make up their own minds which they think is better for them.
Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?
Game companies should stop making games that they have to charge such high prices for.
Or just get rid of whoever they're paying the most salary.
Re: Introducing PLAYi - A Whole New Way To Not Play
It's an obvious 4/1 joke, but having a way to get through hard sections without simply watching the rest of the game on Youtube would count as an accessibility aid, I'd say.
Re: Review: On Your Tail (Switch) - A Charming Detective Story Stumbles On Switch
Switch is the only thing I've got that can play this right now, so while I will wait for a sale, I either need to get this and ignore the technical issues or drop the idea altogether.
Re: Opinion: Legends Z-A's Xenoblade-Style Battles Are Pokémon's Most Exciting Evolution In Years
I don't want it to become standard. I like having games that don't need reflexes.
That said, I don't mind if some Pokemon games use it, even mainline games. I simply don't want to feel shut out of Pokemon because my reaction timing is off.
Re: Poll: Will You Trade In Your Switch When Switch 2 Arrives?
I have a Wii U, Gamecube, N64, SNES, two NES, a GBA, GB Color, GB Pocket, and original GB. I don't get rid of consoles.
(Plus I don't think I can afford a Switch 2, whatever the price. I might have to skip console generations again.)
Re: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Physical Release Confirmed (Japan)
Nah, I'm good with digital. Feel bad for people who want a physical having to jump through hoops, though.
Re: Team Cherry Reconfirms Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Actually Real In Small Development Update
At least it's something.
YMMV.
Re: Talking Point: Is The Switch 2 Going To Be Too Big?
You worry about aging hands, but I worry about aging eyes. I tried to get into the 2DS late in its life, but couldn't stand how small the screen was. So while it's not likely to matter to me how big the Switch is (docked-only for life!), I can't agree with smaller screen sizes.
Re: Poll: Does Anyone Actually Use The Switch Joy-Con Straps?
Of course, ever since my Joy-cons drifted I don't bother to use them.
Re: Feature: 15 Best-Looking Switch Games Of 2024
Little Kitty, Big City.
Re: Video: Let's Discuss The Big Question: What The Heck Is Happening At Nintendo Right Now?
I think boxes are traditional for drawing stuff out of in Japan, if random anime I watched is any indication.
Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop
I find it weird that "publishers don't want you to block them" means anything because visibility doesn't change my purchasing decisions. We can already block them mentally.
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Questions Future Of Consoles, But Not Nintendo Hardware
@MontyCircus
If that's what's going on, then I'm even more on board with consoles, and even more on board with consoles where the games don't have big memory requirements. Because not everyone has the connection speed to stream games.
Re: Feature: 9 Things Nintendo Could Add To Switch 2 So It's Not 'Just Another Switch'
Less features, so we can save money.
Re: Feature: What Pokémon Could Learn From Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
Couldn't agree more, because battling has become the most boring part of the Pokemon series.
Re: Talking Point: How Would You Fix Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Most Frustrating Feature?
Just press "+" and use the menu there. I only use "D-Right" if I know I've just recently used an echo.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (21st September)
Trying not to play anything this weekend: need to save my aging hands and wrists for Zelda on Thursday.
Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?
It's mostly I don't think I have the kind of money to upgrade right away.
Re: Talking Point: HD-2D Or 3D - How Should Square Enix Remake Chrono Trigger?
Give me the original, including Frog's unnecessary Shakespearian.
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Define 'Retro'?
I generally prefer to go by graphics.......mostly because it's often the only metric I can actually measure myself.
Re: Poll: Is $60 Too Much For Nintendo's Switch Re-Releases?
My two answers of "Too much" and "Less than US$40" come with a caveat that they're due to my current economic situation and might change if I had more money.
But my real feeling is that game developers make too many "high quality" games, and should go back to simpler graphics and other cost-saving measures.
Re: Talking Point: One Year On, Has Everyone Beaten Ganondorf In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Tears of the Kingdom did not compel me the same way Breath of the Wild did, and I burned out on trying to do everything before Ganondorf, so I don't feel much compulsion to finish.
But I might one day: it took me something like 20 years to get back to Link to the Past and fight the final Ganon battle, so I don't feel any pressure to hurry.
Re: Nintendo Will Continue To Support Physical Media And "Maximise" All Software Sales
I'm happy for physical people. But can us digitals get a better store?
Re: Talking Point: Would You Want To Reuse Your Joy-Con On 'Switch 2'?
It wouldn't matter to me, but that's because mine are kaput.
Also I never heard them "click".
Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?
I'm not sure I can tell the difference.
Though it doesn't matter, as I need to save my money for more important games.
Re: Soapbox: Where The Heck Is Fallout 3 On Switch?
Unfortunately, the only Fallout that's ever spoken to me is Fallout 4.
Re: Surprise! A New Listing For Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Appeared Online
If it helps anyone as much as it did me, the endings are available on the Hollow Knight wiki. If you want to earn them yourself that's great, but it took a lot of weight off me knowing I didn't need to finish to see those.
Re: Surprise! A New Listing For Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Appeared Online
As to the length of development:
I was reminded elsewhere that this isn't the first or longest time a sequel has been delayed. And compared to games that have been released in unfinished states just to hit a date, I don't want Silksong to suffer that fate.
Re: Surprise! A New Listing For Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Appeared Online
@CJD87
It's okay if you don't like something many other people like. I'd probably have an easier time counting all the games I liked the same as the majority than not.
Re: Talking Point: Should 'Third' Pokémon Games Make A Comeback?
I'd only buy a third game if it was significantly different in content, probably enough to be its own entry.
Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?
Why no option for "Nothing — I already get all my games digital"?
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Announced, Coming To Switch In 2025
Ah, finally, a Nintendo game I can look forward to. (Other than Silksong. But that's Silksong.)
Re: Random: It's Been Five Long Years Since Hollow Knight: Silksong Was Officially Announced
I can kind of see where Team Cherry is coming from with any silence: the reputation of video game fans overreacting has only seemed to grow over the years. It may seem safer to them to communicate absolutely nothing until they have good news.
Re: Soapbox: Game Freak Could Actually Learn A Thing Or Two From Palworld
I can agree that there are aspects of Palworld that Pokemon should shamelessly rip-off. I just hope "survival" isn't one of them ("guns" neither).
Re: Pokémon Fans Set Their Sights On Palworld's Monster Designs
I just shrug my shoulders; it's not my job to police this. Considering I can't even play this game (Nintendo and Mac user), I don't even have the choice whether or not I silently support one or the other (and let's face it: no one would even notice if I chose).
Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A Professor Layton Collection On Switch?
I'm kind of getting annoyed at these poll choices that make it hard to tell if I'm simply choosing a "positive/negative", or am going to be judged. I choose "Professor who?" because it sounded less confrontational than the "No Way!" option, but my real opinion is that I'm not interested in these games.
Re: Random: Ocarina Of Time's Link Has Been Beautifully Recreated In Unreal Engine 5
@Wexter I think this is definitely one of those times the art needs to be adjusted for the medium.
Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Is Backwards Compatible, What Will You Do With Your Switch?
I've never sold any of the others, and I'm not likely to start now.
Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?
I hate that it's going to be live-action. I just do not feel video game movies work in live-action.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Professor Layton And The Unwound Future
Can I vote for "None of them"?
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Raging Bolt In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
I like that Prehistoric Paradoxes are each their own design (some more than others). Whereas the Robot Paradoxes generally seem like copies of their inspirations with a chrome job (Iron Valiant being a stand-out).
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons & Oracle Of Ages - Which Should I Play First?
I recently looked this up, and the article I found pointed out that playing Season second results in more connections to the story of Ages than the other way around. To the point of which General Onox mentions hearing about Link, but Veran will not.
I have no proof of this, and cannot even figure out where I read that, so there's no reason to believe me.
Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW
What did it for me was not that there was too much to do, but that there seemed to be a lot more enemies all over. Barring places with patrolling Guardians and the like, BotW felt peaceful and relaxing. TotK, by contrast, had too many people and people-like monsters: it felt crowded, and I don't like crowds.
Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Desperately Needs A Rival, But Who's Big Enough To Take It On?
I feel that after three 3D games where people have complained about the graphics, Pokemon needs to stop trying and go back to 2D graphics. Focus on being great at something else.
Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?
I bounced hard off TotK, so I'm leery of the idea of them making another Zelda game set in this Hyrule. I feel like for TotK they recycled BotW too much, including elements of the plot that only worked the first time, and I'm paranoid now that if another game is set in the same setting that said pattern will repeat for a third time.
Re: Poll: Goats Or Lizards? What Do You Think Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Zonai Look Like?
I'm thinking Lizard/Rabbit.
