At this point I prefer assuming that Link can't speak, it's just he has the uncanny ability to express everything he needs to say through body language.
Donkey Kong 64. The fly swatting minigame and Tiny's race against the beetle. Both because of the bugs' voices when you fail (miss the fly or don't beat the beetle): there's just something about their high pitches that makes it sting extra.
Of course, I could be here all day: I get frustrated easily.
Every glitch I've experienced has been minor and either visual or very slight loading slowdowns. I'm keeping my copy unless or until the game becomes unplayable.
@jowe_gw I meant "What happens next in the story of the game I am currently playing."
And I gave it a 9/10, and even that's not a certain vote from me: I have things about the game I don't like that aren't about performance. But there are things I like about the game that mean I'd rather give it a higher score.
This game has the best Pokemon story I've played so far. It's not perfect, but I feel I have to give this game a pretty good score for making me want to know what happens next.
It feels wrong to put ScarVi on this list so soon after launch. I won't try to convince anyone they're wrong to give it that low of a score, but it's only been a few days!
@rawzeku I think people unconsciously cut any rating scale off at the half-way point, so a "5" here becomes "0" in their mind. That would make a "7" into a "2".
I've played games that this site reviewed at "7", and "fun game, but has performance issues" if often an apt description of them.
@Friendly Exactly my thoughts; three games where everyone complains about performance should signal to Game Freak that they're trying too hard. I get that every big game developer wants to create these epic experiences, but I think that's an illusion: games with much less ambitious designs do perfectly well. Game Freak should scale back to 2D for a few games, maybe see if they can replicate the in-world battles in that format.
As to ScarVi itself: still getting it, because there's only one other game in the whole of gamedom I care about right now and it doesn't have a release date. I need something to do.
It might disappointingly be "research" and "fight evil", and what they mean by "three stories you can do in any order" is "it's not like the previous games where the three activities were intertwined and 'fight evil' would interrupt your journey". Imagine finding out about the Team Thingy early on and deciding to focus solely on them before tackling any gyms.
I didn't get back into the series until Sword & Shield, so I never experienced Mega Evolution or Z-Moves in action.
But Dynamaxing is kind of dull: I'm never excited when it happens. It's a couple turns of big attacks and some extra HP. Mega Evolutions at least look cool (so do Gigantimaxes, but are hard to acquire).
Yet at the same time.............maybe we should forget the gimmicks, Maybe this is the opinion of someone who hasn't spent years getting bored with the usual Pokémon mechanics, but I feel like simple gameplay changes like infinite TMs and inherent EXP share are the real star mechanics.
One accessibility feature I make extensive use of it subtitles. It's not that I can't hear the voices, it's that I often times have trouble processing some of the sounds fast enough. Easier for me to read.

Re: Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Today, April 19th 2023
Getting a date on Silksong would help me plan my gaming budget.
Re: Talking Point: Should Link Have Voice Acting In The Next Zelda Game?

Re: Poll: Is This The Very End Of The Road For E3?
Never cared about E3.
Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?
"Just the one." For a few days: the screen was way too small (I don't even like the screen on the Switch), so I returned it.
Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I already thought it was going to be US$70, as I rarely pay attention to games with prices that high.
Re: Talking Point: What Is The Most Frustrated You've Ever Been With A Video Game?
Donkey Kong 64. The fly swatting minigame and Tiny's race against the beetle. Both because of the bugs' voices when you fail (miss the fly or don't beat the beetle): there's just something about their high pitches that makes it sting extra.

Re: Video: You Can Improve Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Performance Yourself
What about from a game card? That's what I have, so maybe that's why I haven't run into anything bad.
Re: Feature: 30 Changes We'd Like To See In The Next Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Update
I want the ability to rename traded mons.
Re: Frustrated Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Are Reportedly Getting Refunds
Every glitch I've experienced has been minor and either visual or very slight loading slowdowns. I'm keeping my copy unless or until the game becomes unplayable.
Re: Random: The Funniest Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Glitches We've Seen So Far
As I've said elsewhere: Pokemon should cut back on the visuals, maybe going for a Paper Mario style.

Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)
I do think this game has one massive improvement over Sword&Shield: you aren't locked behind gyms to go everywhere.
Also there's more "everywhere": I was quite disappointed by how little terrain there was to explore in Sw&Sh.

Re: Talking Point: Given The Voice Artist Controversy, Will You Be Boycotting Bayonetta 3?
Unfortunately, I never intended to get it anyway.
Re: Poll: Do You Actually Want Switch Ports Of Wind Waker And Twilight Princess?
I want Oracles of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. That's what I want, and I'm not picky about how they get it to me.
Re: Talking Point: Can We Predict The Other Two Stories In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
@BabyYoda71
Main character gets transported to the past at the beginning of the game. No more happens after that.

Re: Random: We've Been Waiting Over Half A Decade For A "New" Mainline Zelda Game
I don't mind if a particular franchise takes its time, so long as they don't all take their time.
Re: Poll: What Are You Hoping To See From This Week's 'Pokémon Presents'?
The most important thing to me is what to call the region, since, as I am a human, I must give names to all things.
(I've been calling it Iber because uncreative.)

Silksong and more Pokémon.
