Re: Review: The Lost Child (Switch)

I'm about 30 hours in at the start of the 5th chapter and I've been enjoying it overall. If this had SMT's staple mechanics, it could easily fit in with the rest of the Devil Summoner spin-off titles.

My only gripes are that the demon designs range from "Passable..." at best to "Why? ...Just why?" at worst, and organizing and managing your Astrals (trading skills between them) could have been streamlined a bit better.

I also see an untapped potential that maybe a different, more ambitious team or studio could have brought out, but all things considered, I recommend it to anyone who's curious.

@gloom and @Gs69 As much as I'd love to see Nintendo stand up and take action against leakers and data-miners too for something like "possession and dissemination of confidential/privileged information", you know it wouldn't take long at all for people to try to turn this into a Free Speech/Freedom of the Press issue. And the unintended consequence(s) of a precedent set by any ruling in Nintendo's favor would probably be significant and ultimately not worth it in long run.

South Park is #1 for me this month, but I haven't seen it on the eShop. I see Gal*Gun, DK:TF, and even the Crash N-Sane Trilogy in the "Coming Soon" section, but South Park isn't listed, and when I type it in the search bar it say "no results." What's up with that?

It took me a minute to remember Lucifel's name and look, but I wondered about a possible El Shaddai connection the moment the light went on. That was a nifty little title; Michael's design is also vaguely reminiscent of Enoch's. A glimpse of gameplay would have been nice, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this.

Also, the MC is a nephilim, calling it now.

Re: This Is The Police 2 Has A Real Fargo Feel About It And It's Coming To Nintendo Switch In 2018

Hopefully the sequel is a tad more forgiving in certain areas than its predecessor; one time, I sent my entire A Shift (8 or 9 officers, most with scores well over 500, 3 had a score over 800) to a raid on the port, with SWAT and paddy wagon support, and all but one of them got killed. Another time, half of my B Shift just flat-out did not show up for work. I somehow got myself into a death spiral around the the final third of the game all because of a Catch-22 — City Hall was mad at me for not doing my job, but I couldn't do my job because City Hall was mad at me and made me keep laying off officers — and just stopped caring.

But I look forward to giving this a try, and might even re-download the first one to try and finish it.

Re: Take A Look Behind The Scenes Of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Character Design

I still think Rex's outfit(s) could stand to be streamlined a bit more, but I can overlook it because how much I like his character.

If asymmetry and incompleteness were what they were going for with Pyra, then giving her one earring, one glove, and/or one stocking would have worked just fine. Making her outfit as revealing as it is was just unnecessary. I enjoy my eye-candy as much as the next guy, but the hot-pants and her bust being so pronounced are just distracting and ultimately ruin her design for me.

Also not fond of the brim on Morag's hat, probably could have stood to be a bit shorter and not look like a cow-catcher, but that's a minor quibble in comparison to Rex and Pyra's fashion misfires.

And Jin and Malos's roles really should have been reversed; nothing about Malos' design makes him stand out and visually communicate/justify him having the significance that he does.

Ikaruga's my SK waifu. I like Asuka, but I kinda see her as a little sister more than anything else. And I never spent a significant amount in the dressing room in Burst and Crimson, just however long it would take to change them into a new outfit that I'd use for a stage or two then put them back in their normal costumes afterward.

I could see this being an unlockable Extra Mode in a bigger main beat-'em-up game, it just doesn't seem like there's enough to warrant it being a full game by itself with a full game pricetag.

“Our biggest frustration with the presentation, however, is one tiny interface quirk that never stops being annoying: ‘Confirm’ is mapped to the ‘B’ button and ‘Cancel’ to the ‘A’ button, the opposite of Nintendo norms.”

Preach, pastor!

NoA2 is definitely a good addition to the Switch's library, performance hiccups and all. My major issue with the game--aside from the 'B', 'A' thing--is just that it's so short.
