honestly, nintento could stop most of this by making their own emulator online thats downloadable for free but needing to be signed into a nintendo account to add games or using an official adapter to use physical carts. would let people who want to run stuff on better hardware be able to do so while also allowing people with more limited budgets that can't afford a 200$+ console be able to buy games.
@CazSonOfCaz hell, playstation exists because of nintendo's competing with sega and betraying sony after realizing that the contract gave sony the rights to everything written on cdrom format. rather than renegotiating the contract, they dropped sony without telling them about it and waited until the day after sony had announced the cdrom version of the snes to announce their partnership with phillips which resulted in sony opting to make their own console and the horrible zelda CDi games... then nintendo and sega didn't take the playstation remotely seriously only for it to outsell them both. the next generation after that marked the fall of sega as a console maker and the rise of the xbox. thinking about it, they just pulled a similar stunt on palworld with that whole announcing a patent lawsuit on them without even sending them any legal documents beforehand soon after it was made publicly known that palworld would be on the ps5.

@Jeronan i mean, aside from PLA, they've been backtracking with it since ORAS. started with the magma/aqua suits, then that rider uniform in SMUSUM, next the gym suit in SwSh which had alternate sets that couldn't be used in a gym and finally here we are with SV forcing a uniform on everyone... though in canon it makes sense a bit as the region is essentially owned by geeta, who has the gall to force someone to use pokemon that are not of their preference. it's is also why she never loses her position as "top" champion despite there being at least 2 champions better than her.
@ModdedInkling and yet, they never go anywhere near the homebrewing discords. well, not that it really changed anything to begin with as pirates already had released SV to the web with images and information being spread across the discords that didn't get nuked including discords that where not even pokemon based to begin with.

you can blame white knights and pokemon's competitive scene for this. the whole point of it is to prevent people from cloning pokemon by sending the mons to HOME then reloading the backup. even the built in backup for PLA and SV is made to back-up everything but the pokemon. so, if say some rare pokemon from an event during the gba era was killed off by a save that was corrupted, theres no getting it back... even worse if it was a fully legit shiny mew or shiny colosseum jirachi.
the anti-clone programming in BDSP to prevent clones made by the glitch also brough with it an issue, namely the fact that you can't send a shedija from BDSP to HOME due to it being a clone by default.
@LeJuiceCup it seems unlikely that it is ganon as ganon should be completely dead. its not like theres not other male villains that can come out of the woodworks like vaati or malladus, the later of which has controlled a zelda before.
digital games would work better if not for 1) backups being locked behind a paywall 2) certain games not allowing back up saves stares at gamefreak at this point if something goes wrong with my switch, which will likely happen given the current state of my new2dsxl, theres a good chance of it bricking and potentially losing my pokemon saves. in contrast, my physical 3ds game saves are still safe on their carts despite my not having a functioning 3/2ds currently. though theres also a chance that i lost my digital games and their saves even if i get my new2dsxl's screen fix a there could be more problems with it due to the issue with it was caused by external damage via cat and gravity so i don't know the full extent of the damage. getting a new new2dsxl won't fix this problem either especially with getting back access to pokemon bank as that would require hoping customer support would grant me access despite the wii u/3ds eshop closure which is a mess in its own right...

@Tyranexx pretty gamefreak already has a custom servers up for bank and home. now that i think about it i can't recall any other games that have interconnectability between the 3ds & switch other than pokemon games...

walpeach would have likely ended up being selfish, ill-mannered, and a brash battle junkie, a contrast to peach's being a caring, polite and preferring to chill rather than fight but will still fight when there's a need for her to.
well, in the end daisy ended up as the closest thing we got to a walpeach.
though daisy also fits just as well as a doronjo, if not a bit better...

i've had multiple lites and 1 phat that had hinge issues, my old 3d xl slowly died because of a lose wire, the new2dxl i got to replace it that i transferred everything from it too before the bottom screen died has internal damage to the top screen from my cat knocking it off the desk...

@roy130390 the issue comes after adventure 2, they stopped handing him to well and it got worse after the ken pender's legal case as losing control of a bunch of sonic characters made them more protective of their in-house characters. its one of the reasons why shadow and metal didn't show up too much in sonic boom, to much character regulation.

They told us we could use him, he could be on the show, but he was not to be making any jokes. It was funny that he was here, having to deal with all these crazy people.
Greg: Shadow was a character that was very protected by SEGA. They were reluctant to let us use him very much, and when we did use him, he came with so many notes and restrictions that it was easier to not use him. That’s why he wasn’t on the show as much as fans would have wanted.
MV: So that’s why he was relegated to being a once-in-a-blue-moon, ‘special episode’ character. Was Metal Sonic the same? He doesn’t even talk, you could have used him more!
Alan: Yeah, Metal Sonic only put in the one appearance.
Greg: But we brought him back for the finale. Honestly, when characters that were existing, original-universe Sonic characters were brought in, those episodes were just too hard to write for. There were so many notes, they were such protected characters. We got to have so much more freedom with characters of our own, like Dave the Intern and the Mayor, that it was just easier. Did we want to include Big the Cat? Sure we did. But writing that would have been a huge headache, it would have had to have gone through so many layers of clearance. It would have taken ages to get approved. It wasn’t worth it. Hence why there’s only Shadow, Metal Sonic, and Vector the Crocodile in a handful of episodes.

@CharlieGirl seems a lot of people here are being mislead by the title or misreading it as being that skyline was targeted when it wasn't, only lockpick was. skyline just made itself to dependent on lockpick which backfired on it.
hell, the switch has emulators that nintendo themselves put in it...
besides, nintendo can't even legally target emulators and have already lost court cases over this type of thing.

started with the magma/aqua suits, then that rider uniform in SMUSUM, next the gym suit in SwSh which had alternate sets that couldn't be used in a gym and finally here we are with SV forcing a uniform on everyone... though in canon it makes sense a bit as the region is essentially owned by geeta, who has the gall to force someone to use pokemon that are not of their preference. it's is also why she never loses her position as "top" champion despite there being at least 2 champions better than her.

honestly, discord should just tell nintendo no.
ninteno should be responsible for cleaning up their own mess rather than forcing another company to do it for them.
but discord is likely to give in like they did a couple weeks right before pokemon scarlet/violet pirated file leaked on to the internet resulting in them nuking a bunch of discords which is all it did as it didn't slow down the leaks nor the file going around at all.

you can blame white knights and pokemon's competitive scene for this. the whole point of it is to prevent people from cloning pokemon by sending the mons to HOME then reloading the backup. even the built in backup for PLA and SV is made to back-up everything but the pokemon. so, if say some rare pokemon from an event during the gba era was killed off by a save that was corrupted, theres no getting it back... even worse if it was a fully legit shiny mew or shiny colosseum jirachi.
the anti-clone programming in BDSP to prevent clones made by the glitch also brough with it an issue, namely the fact that you can't send a shedija from BDSP to HOME due to it being a clone by default.

digital games would work better if not for
1) backups being locked behind a paywall
2) certain games not allowing back up saves stares at gamefreak
at this point if something goes wrong with my switch, which will likely happen given the current state of my new2dsxl, theres a good chance of it bricking and potentially losing my pokemon saves.
in contrast, my physical 3ds game saves are still safe on their carts despite my not having a functioning 3/2ds currently.
though theres also a chance that i lost my digital games and their saves even if i get my new2dsxl's screen fix a there could be more problems with it due to the issue with it was caused by external damage via cat and gravity so i don't know the full extent of the damage. getting a new new2dsxl won't fix this problem either especially with getting back access to pokemon bank as that would require hoping customer support would grant me access despite the wii u/3ds eshop closure which is a mess in its own right...

@Zeroo pokemon was originally supposed to be more about taming the monsters, but it was ditched for being "too cruel"...
so instead, we got games where you beat the monsters into submission and exploit their natural instincts to shrink and flee to trap them in a ball and then give them a case of stockholm syndrome under the pretense of "friendship".

@HammerGalladeBro i'm sure there have been employee's arrested before, but nintendo is likely to just fire anyone who does that can't be swept under the rug these days. almost all legal things involving nintendo that hits the news are either about a hacker that leaked something, someone selling a console modifier, fan games, or some former employee stirring up some chaos.

high end graphics and bugless releases was never what made these games sell and are sure as hell not gamefreaks forte.

@Uncle_Franklin ash has technically been a champion for a few years now, even longer if you count the orange islands which the anime writers do considering his trophy from that win was still in his room at the start of the current series and lapras being shown in the vision of all of his pokemon, current & former that he formed a bond with during his battle with leon... well, except dex rotom & rotom phone anyway.
they can still just put ash back into the older mentor role where he should have been left at rather than pulling that eternally 10 idiocy at the start of BW. hell, the games already have whats essentially a female version of him acting as a mentor to the player.
