Launching today on the Switch eShop is Epitaph, a competitive, fast-paced tactical game where death takes centre stage.
Taking place in the afterlife, Epitaph has you selecting three reapers from a total of 13 in order to do battle. It's said to feature a "unique mix of strategy and timing," hoping to pull off a combination of abilities inspired by Darkest Dungeon and real-time combat inspired by Final Fantasy's Active Time Battle System, and tasks you with outsmarting your opponents and planning out your abilities to land combos.
Here's an official description and a feature list:
Battle for control of the afterlife in Epitaph, a competitive, fast-paced tactical battler. Pick three Reapers, the aspects of death, and fight your opponent in real-time, cooldown-based combat. You'll control all three characters at once, sequencing their abilities and setting up explosive combos to decimate your opponent. But be careful - every time a Reaper dies, they come back stronger, so moving closer to victory will make your opponents even more deadly.
Features
- Local Multiplayer
- Online Multiplayer (Steam Only)
-Single-Player Puzzle Mode with Over 150 Puzzles
- 13 Characters, Combining into 286 Different Teams
As noted above, the game's launching today on Nintendo Switch. You can pick it up for $12.99 and it'll take up just 249MB of space on your console.

Not sure about the art-style. Yet but I like the premise
Definitely looks cool, but I'll likely grab it later. I've been too addicted to playing Darkest Dungeon as of late.
PSA: I just bought this at 1:05 PM EST, and there's a big bug. The tutorial and the puzzle mode are fine, but the basic battle mode freezes at many points in the character select and cannot be played until they patch in a bugfix.
Never heard of it but I'll look for reviews, it sounds cool!
Is there a story campaign? It's touting itself as competitive but only online multiplayer for Steam. We're still social distancing here so I'm not about to have a party for an obscure indie SRPG lol
Is it any good? How about a review?
Still no review?
