@607jf Keyboard works on Switch. I use it all the time whenever I need to type something in like the eShop or a game with in game chat like Fortnite or DCUO. Not sure if a mouse would work though.
@Daniel36 From my understanding of what the Tokyo video showed, the Android and iOS version are going to be the game itself. Just like the Switch and PS4 version. It won't act as a menu system like the GBA did to the GC version.
Guess you could play the old version but you'd be out on the new content and such.
@Daniel36 I saw the Tokyo gameplay demo. First off, who ever they had testing it out has NO IDEA how to play an RPG. The warrior was casting, the mage was melee hitting..such a mess.
Anyway, it looks like it's an overlay menu that takes up the screen. The menu is transparent enough that you can see what is behind and on the field still. Looks like the game will be design with online and local wireless play in mind. Couch co-op is looking to be less likely an option. Single player from one console, be it Switch, Android, iOS, or PS4.
@Snugglevixen I don't PC game so this learning that it's getting cheaper to make Gaming PCs is nice. Still doesn't change that buying games will eat away at your wallet.
@Fazermint Easy, with most games with online mutliplayer, they are only relevant for so long. Usually only for the first 1-2 months. Unless they are a popular multiplayer game (Mario kart, smash, Splatoon), the player base dwindle as times move. And when the next game is release, the previous game has lost its player base.
You want to keep up with the crowd, ya need money to do so. No point in buying a game with a dead lobby to it's online multiplayer.
@Zeldafan79 @sixrings He has a point. Gaming has never been a cheap hobby. If you don't have the money to keep up with upgrades (PC mostly) or games coming out every other week or month, then it's best to choose something else to occupy your time.
@Trajan While true, Nintendo is a rather big fish. Microsoft won't be able to devour them so easily.
@Rhaoulos Given in this day and age, Nintendo and Sony are competing with each other all the time, it surprising to see there were even talks of a partnership between the two. Especially given the conflicting policies.
@Darkyoshi98 Got a Splatoon 2 Switch Bundle, no drifting as well. I feel like people are just taking over exaggerating just to get a free Switch fix from support.
@TheFox If the lite doesn't sell well then the chance of seeing a "pro" switch goes down. The lite must sell well. More money means more chances of Switch variations. Sides, the Lite has already been confirmes to compensate games with HD rumble. It just shakes the screen instead, as seen above.
@Realness wow...just wow. I want a pro switch as well but I want the lite to do well. More money from sales means more money for development of a possible Switch Pro.
Anyway, congrats for Switch lite. May it prosper and shine over the stupid minority opinions.
Poor optimization. The fact that game like Doom and Wolfenstein can run pretty well on the Switch make this all the more evident. There is no excuse for this game to be so badly optimized.
@Paddle1 I had the Wii U version and upgraded to get the Switch version of Mario Kart 8. I believe the game is worth it. It's all the included dlc, proper battle mode, and it re-worked a lot of stats for various parts and bikes. Plus, I'm sure the online for Wii U is dwindling when compared to the Switch. If anything, just get the MK8D used or on sale.
@BarefootBowser WiFi for the system seems pretty standard. Even then, hardly anyone ever reaches the top speed of their ISP. I have 100mps download, but max out around 75 or so. And that's just with my computer's gigabyte Ethernet.
Sweet, we finally get these games on a console and not android/iOS. Can't wait to play these games on a proper console.
@lateral_centro @Sinton Judging by how they look, this may be the Android/iOS version being ported over to Switch. I could be wrong on this though. We'll have to see if DQIII has the GC medal system or SFC/GC Pachirisu(?) tracks.
@HappyMaskedGuy Didn't know this guy's name till today. But I'm not going to remember it. Not worth the effort. Like many here, we just care about what games are coming out. Not the political or legal factor headlines such as these.
I do find it funny how serious you take all this. And how contradicting you sound for saying WE are juvenile. Kudos for the entertainment at least.
@Dijita Even with a high fiber connection. Expecting to have a zero lag experience in anything is unrealistic. Each ISP is different, every game has different net protocol even with dedicated servers, and the setup of each router/modem is never the same.
We don't live in a world where technology is going to be perfect. Not in this lifetime.
I found playing online through the friend match was a lot better then random match up. Least this way, you can play with people you know have a good online connection.
Still a great multiplayer and online game. The 8 star review is well deserved.
@Daniel36 There is supposed to be some gameplay footage to be shown at the Japanese showcase. We may see how the menu system works. It could be how the singleplayer menu system worked in GC. Or maybe it will be an overlay menu system to the side of the screen. The overlay menu system seems to be a safe bet.
@Daniel36 I can understand why the couch co-op would be removed from the Switch version. The GC version was able to do it fine due to the GBA being the menu system of the game. Unless the Phone is used as a replacement (which would kind a suck), they'd have to put all that menu system onto the single screen. There would be so much clutter it be hard to do a good local co-cop that way.
@KarateLuigi Since the GC multiplayer could be through the whole story mode, I don't see why the Switch version wouldn't allow it. We'll see more of the game once the tokyo showcase is over.
I hope this a sign of things to come. I would love to have a proper re-release of these games on Switch. Especially Dragon Quest 3. Would love to have all the included GBC content that the Android/iOS version skipped out on.
@SwitchForce It just got a digital release. If it does well, maybe it will get a physical release. Till then, enjoy the digital only version for $20 bucks. Which is a fair price for Torchlight 2.
@Mr_Muscle In a few years, a new game or console will have been out for awhile. We'll be too busy playing with something new to worry about the old. With the exception of remakes and such.
I'm not one for nostalgia and have too many games on my backlog already. Beat a game and move on. Times doesn't slow down for anyone.
@HappyMaskedGuy Thanks for proving my point. People like you who complain that digital only releases are a bad thing. Whether that is true or not, digital releases is becoming the mainstream for videogames. Get over it and let progress happen.
Had it on PC. It's a Smash clone but without the fluid movement. Not a very good game. Sides, Smash Ultimate is all I need but maybe someone will like this budget game.
Repetitive yes, but you get to hat you pay for. Add to the fact this game goes on sale a lot, it's not a bad at all. Cheap, easy to follow, with hour of gameplay. 7/10 is about right.
@Kriven I don't care how the physical releases are dying, I just know it's happening. I'm a fan of digital releases. Makes it harder to lose the game to the family dog or sticky fingers of 5 younger siblings..

@SyFyTy Local wireless play will still be around. But in this day in age, those without internet are in the minority.

Now Sony does. Though, it's a little to late. You've lost a lot of faith from many of your fans.

Re: Here Are The Top 20 Best-Selling Switch eShop Games In Japan For September 2019
@ozwally Ah gotcha. Ya like the more realistic fantasy then anime, cartoon, or fantasy fantasy. Other side of the spectrum of fantasy games.
Re: Here Are The Top 20 Best-Selling Switch eShop Games In Japan For September 2019
@ozwally Isn't that the idea with Dragon Quest? To have really cool characters fighting silly looking monsters?
Re: Cripes, That SNES PlayStation Prototype Might Be Up For Auction Soon
Huh..a time where Sony and Nintendo were actually partners.
Unlike today where it's Microsoft and Nintendo team up to kick Sony's butt.

Re: Mario Kart Tour Zooms Onto Smartphones Tomorrow, Here's When It Goes Live
Nice, but would like to see a Mario Kart 9 or some more DLC tracks for Mario Kart 8.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Has A Workaround For Switch Lite's Lack Of Rumble
While the lack of rumble for the Lite version sucks, it's nice to see some games will be able to accommodate for it.

Oh well, Switch version coming out soon. Can't wait. ^^
Re: Review: Super Kirby Clash - Monster Hunter Meets The Cute Pink Puffball

@Dayton311 yep. I can just hear the cry babies and haters already.
Plus side, FF8 coming soon so yay. ^^

Liked the first one. Looking forward to it's sequel. Plus, it has cross play with Xbox/PC players. Meaning online won't be as dead as we may think.
