Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan

@Joekun Oh? Was that not the case with the recent Nintendo Life YouTube video? They showed a price difference between the physical and digital as they were browsing the eShop store on the website.

Either way, I'm saying it's a start. They are making the digital games cheaper over the physical version. Eventually, they'll cute out physical media to safe cost. Because a ceiling will be hit when it be comes to expensive to make physical media.

@Joekun You do realize that Nintendo has said why they hate doing sales on their first party titles right? They don't want people to feel bad about being a first time buyer. Hence why they only have small sales.

You may not agree with it, but understand their point of few. I would hate to feel that I have to wait 2 years for a game to be half price.

@Joekun @jojobar I'm in my 30s here. I'm also the oldest of five. I've lost many games during the old N64, GC, GBA, and DS days because of the reason I mentioned above. Being the oldest is NOT fun and having young siblings with "sticky hands" and what not get into your stuff is a PAIN to do deal. With digital Media, I don't have to worry about losing a game. It's backed up to an account that easily downloadable.

I'm not worried about the servers or anything like that shutting down. I rarely go back to playing a game once I've beaten it (excluding some multiplayer titles). By the time the DO shut down, I'm already on the next game or console system. I'm not a Retro gamer in anyway. So what you have mentioned doesn't apply to me. As well as many others who feel the same way.

@Anti-Matter It will happen, it's only a matter of time. With rising cost due to inflation and now tariffs. Physical media will be cut to save cost. PC Gaming did it, Console gaming will follow.

Re: Nintendo Removes Variable Refresh Rate TV Mention On Switch 2 Websites

Shade_Koopa

@Ultimapunch While monitors have had VRR for years, TV having that feature are still new. That may be why they removed it. Not everyone is going to buy an expensive smart TV with that feature.

That being said, there are plenty of console gamers, such as myself, that play their consoles on monitors. Monitors can handle high FPS a lot better then TV. At least from my experience.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Shade_Koopa

@Jireland92 Yep, and since humans are a herd mentality, we will adapt again and pay for it. The minority complaining about the prices now will either give in or leave. Their complaints won't change anything and we'll move on to something else to complain about. We see this EVERY console generation.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Shade_Koopa

@Maulbert Ah yes. The "apologist" argument all you cheap and frugal people use. Because you people are too ignorant to know what "inflation" is.

Judging from the comments, you're in the minority. If you can't pay the expensive price to play video games, then you shouldn't have gotten into gaming in the first place. Simple facts.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Shade_Koopa

@Maulbert That's irrelevant. A remake is still seen as a new game. Plus, there are plenty of gamers who haven't even touched the series.

As I said before, gaming is an expensive hobby. If your not willing to spend the money, it's time to find something else to keep your time busy. Gaming is NOT for the cheap and frugile.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Shade_Koopa

@Maulbert @awp69 It's 2024, $60 dollars is the standard price. What are you guys going to do when games cost 70 dollars next year. XP

Putting aside the fact that gaming is an expensive hobby to begin with, I'd still want to get this game. I never got to finish the original Dragon Warrior 3 game. Be nice to play this version and complete it. ^^

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?

Shade_Koopa

@-wc- I grew up when the GC was out. I remember many gamers comparing it to the Xbox 360 and PS3(?). I go by what happens, not what's on paper.

Beside the point, I'd still pay $500 bucks for the console. To me, as well as to many others, that price is still low. I'm also a realistic. So if the console come out at $400, then it's a win. If not, still a win cause I didn't expect myself to be disappointed by copium.

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?

Shade_Koopa

@Deviant-Dork Agreed, but I don't want Nintendo to pull a Sony or Microsoft and starting favoring graphics over gameplay. That is the main reason I stick with Nintendo. Gameplay I can't find anywhere else. ^^

@Not_Soos As I mentioned before, your forgetting about I inflation. $500 for the Switch 2 will be a low ball number in 2025. Plus, gaming is expensive to begin with. If you aren't willing to spend a lot of money, your in the wrong hobby.
