Re: Yes, Link's Improved "Fast Travel" In Skyward Sword HD Really Does Seem To Be Locked Behind An amiibo

@Ashunera84 So, just because a particular issue doesn't affect you personally means you should have the right tell people to shut up when they have an issue with something?

It's bad enough that Nintendo and other game companies think that they can screw us over with overpriced, undercooked games and remasters with dlc and battle passes; but it's abhorrent for someone like you to try to silence anyone who disagrees with those practices and belittle them for their concerns in the process.

Why should anyone be surprised? Remember what Nintendo did with Samus Reurns and how you’re required to have the Metroid amiibo to unlock hard mode and art galleries?

They could have easily included this in the game to slightly justify the price but chose not to and I’m beginning to fear that Nintendo is slowly turning into EA due to these signs

I mean, imagine Splatoon 3 with a battle pass with unlockable weapons, skins and all . That sounds nice, right?

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Players Can Now Vote For The Next In-Game Distribution

SeantheDon29

Meh, I don't really care either way since it doesn't offer any real incentive to revisit the game, like with a special event or something of the sort or to even add more pokemon to the regions via a software update.

Heck, if I could describe my experience my entirety of Sword, it'd be this: played through the main story, beat it, tried the first dlc, got bored not even halfway through and stopped playing, haven't picked it up since.

If GF really want people to revisit gen 8, then they better offer a better incentive other than "here's a voting poll because we don't care anymore, pick what you want and leave us alone."

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 12.0.2 Is Now Live

SeantheDon29

@ChakraStomps oh? And is suppose people who pirate abandonware of long discontinued games that will never see the light of day again are also sad as well?

Also, what proof do you have that piracy has lead to the season pass model other than corporations using it as a scapegoat to push these ant-consumer practices?

it sounds to me like you’re just making up excuses to demonize something you clearly don’t understand or on how little impact it has on the industry as a whole, which the same excuse can be used for used game sales as well.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Had A Spectacular Year, And May Have Big Plans

SeantheDon29

Iwata warned us about what would happen if Nintendo went down this road(though he was more or less talking about going into the mobile market) and it seems he was right.

Though they seem to have made a fortune in recent years by expanding their business practices into other media , they seem to have forgotten what originally brought them that fortune in the first place, becoming more corporate as years pass.

Re: Video: Now Is The Best Time To Release Mother 3

SeantheDon29

@Ralizah Glad to have ya on board.

Yeah, it's the same thing with old ps2/Gamecube games that Sony and Nintendo refuse to re-sell on their digital store fronts, and if you really want to know the truth about it, even piracy itself isn't nearly as detrimental to their profit margin as Nintendo and Sony make it out it be and is nothing more than a boogey man that they use to scare the unsuspecting player base with to keep them loyal to their brands.

Re: Random: Another Fan Takes A Crack At Redesigning Switch's User Interface

SeantheDon29

This looks very nice besides a few ntipicks about the length of the game icons.

I've mentioned this before in another article but Sony and Microsoft got this kind of thing right with the PS3 and XBOX360 with their UI customization and it baffles me that Nintendo has yet to catch up yet and even though this sort of thing isn't necessary as some have said, it's still a nice feature to have to make the console feel like it's yours, not to mention the folders make navigation more convenient with those of us with larger game libraries.

Re: Switch Online Members Can Save 30% On Wireless NES Controllers (North America)

SeantheDon29

@JuiceMan_V So you're saying we shouldn't expect a better value for a paid online service because it's cheaper? And for the record, PSN and XBL were both around the same price as NSO on PS3 and XBOX360 at launch and still provided better value, not just with better netcode, but the UI for those consoles gave users customizable menus and avatar customization ,on 360; something people have been asking from Nintendo for Switch for the past four years.

And what proof do you have that NSO will get better besides wishful thinking? When exactly has the service gotten better? Don't you think four years should be more than enough time for NSO to get better, or, and this is a hunch, maybe Nintendo is complacent in not doing anything to improve the service because they know people are going to purchase the subscription regardless of any improvements because they know it's the only way for us to play their games online and are doing this to hold the consumer hostage?

Lastly, people don't just play fighting games competitively for money; many people play competitive for fun as anyone who has played street fighter or COD for that matter will tell you and having your input be behind or screen stuttering in a fighting game, even by a milisecond because of lag can ruin the whole match.

Look, if you think NSO is worth the money, fine, you do you; But don't assume everyone is going to tolerate this sort of service for the price, especially the competitive community.

Re: Video: Why Do We Buy And Collect Retro Video Games?

SeantheDon29

All the more reason to keep emulators and rom sites alive and running, despite what big corporations might say.

Heck, if it wasn't for emulation, I wouldn't ever to be able to re-play old psx/2 classics like Gundam: Federation vs Zeon or the Robotech games and whether anyone wants to publicly admit it or not,(especially on this newsite) it is a necessary part of game preservation and needs to be protected, especially in an age where corporations are becoming more overreaching and caring less and less about their old retro titles and would rather see them lost in the wind.
