In addition to a Nintendo Switch firmware update, we've also got a new patch for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
This is the first update for Sword and Shield in 2021 and follows on from version 1.3.1 in December. This latest patch contains a little extra - fixing an issue with icons not displaying properly during wireless battles, and also resolved several issues to improve the gameplay experience.
Here are the full patch notes, once again courtesy of Nintendo's official support page:
Ver. 1.3.2 (Released May 11, 2021)
- Fixed the issue where some Pokémon icons were not properly displaying during online or local wireless battles.
- Several issues have been fixed to improve gameplay experience.
If we discover anything else about the latest patch, we'll be sure to let you know. Have you downloaded this updated yourself yet? Still enjoying Sword and Shield? Leave a comment down below.

Call me when I can finally use my shiny piplup
Changed my life
Truly, GF’s well of imagination knows no bounds.
And then I woke up.
Has Victini ever been found yet?
They missed Dynamax Galarian moltres icon using the Dynamax Kantonian Moltres icon in Max Raid Battles.
"Give me a compelling reason to load the game again" is what I'm waiting on.
@Fulbright Hopefully when the Diamond & Pearl remakes get released...
I waiting for Big Patch (1.4.0) to celebrate release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Or Big Patch (1.4.0) at E3 and another Big Patch (1.5.0) to celebrate release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
@tadams587 you mean they didn't fixed that Icon problem with this patch?
So pokemon still run behind you and can't keep up , and/or go too fast and step on your heels? Dang.
So glad i didn't buy this dead game.
Can't wait for Diamond and Pearl though.
But STILL no timer fix? I feel like it's gotta just be spite now
"20 minute timer increased to 60 mins/infinite" is the only thing I want to see, as well as dex.
20 minutes would be fine if it didn't include the goddamn battle animations. The timer should be more like a chess timer - thinking time only.
"buT WheRE's tHE UpdaTe tHaT STops iT fROm lOokINg LiKE A n64 game?"
@weisske In fact I remember how good N64 graphics looked when it first launched.
I grew up in the days of the SNES playing it on old TVs with RF connection which would regularly distort the picture so some days we could barely SEE our games, let alone play them.
@weisske this but unironically
Wouldn't be a Pokemon article on NintendoLife without the perpetually unhappy "Pokemon Fans". lol
@Mitchtwd I mean... I have 5 in Pokemon Home... so yes, yes it has.
I wish they could fix the framerate issues
