The Nintendo Switch hosts all sorts of games from Minecraft to Fortnite, but one game that still hasn't been released on the platform yet is the insanely popular Roblox - where you can play, create and be anything you imagine.
While Roblox Corporation has nothing to announce right now, during a financial call last week, company CEO David Baszucki was queried about a possible release on more platforms such as the Switch and said it would make "perfect sense". Here's exactly what he had to say:
“… So absolutely long-term, Switch, PlayStation, Quest – all of these platforms make perfect sense for Roblox. What you’re seeing right now is an incredible focus on the phone by us, which we believe is an incredibly difficult form factor and the most difficult form factor for that immersion, but these are all logical platforms and at the same time, we won’t share any ship dates for them.”
Roblox is described as an ever-expanding online library of community-created worlds, games, and experiences - where there's always something new and exciting to play. It was originally released on the PC way back in 2006, followed up with a mobile release, and in 2015 arrived on the Xbox.

I liked Roblox year ago, just kinda forgot about it, with among us on the switch i'm sure Roblox could, Plus HotGoomba we miss you!
Just what we need in my house, lol. On a more serious note, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
My nephew played this years ago. I must admit it looked rubbish lol. The trailer looks absolutely nothing like how I remember it. I will say, it's still talked about by kids. I'm sure it would do well on the Switch if it can support it.
Kind of a no-brainer if you ask me. I still like to dip in on my PC from time to time to play around, but a Switch port would be a perfect fit since I never liked playing it on my phone due to lower specs for some of my favorite worlds and the touch screen.
Must be some kind of behind-the-scenes deal with Microsoft for timed exclusivity or they're just waiting for approval from Sony and Nintendo.
This is all well and good, but what about RUNESCAPE?
This would blow up on switch.
Honestly, I'm kinda surprised, it hasn't already happened.
I've seen kids playing it, but to this day I still don't know what it is about, other than the characters looking like if Minecraft and Playmobil had kids and had the same animation disabilities of Minecraft.
@Snatcher I'll miss me too
(I'll be fully back in June btw)
I've been playing since 2014, so I would love to have Roblox on the Switch.
Roblox has been trying for years to get on PlayStation (starting in 2016) and Switch (2017), and it's mainly Sony and Nintendo's fault that they haven't, likely because they're worried about potential copyright infringement. That shouldn't be a problem though because Roblox has required games to remove all copyrighted material before they can be played on Xbox since 2015.
Nintendo is being especially difficult, since Roblox took down Pokemon Brick Bronze as a show of good faith and Nintendo still didn't budge.
I'm honestly surprised this hasn't been released for the Switch yet, seeing that the Switch has a large audience of kids who would love this game.
I understand what roblox is going for, but it just doesn't work for me. I hate the graphics, especially the character models. Another thing is that most players are kids, meaning most games are just made for them to play / spend money on them. I don't like roblox.
I'd be so hyped for roblox on switch
There are a few geniuenly well made Roblox ganes, but you need to shift through the Peppa Pig-themed horror games and baby adoption simulators to get there.
I don't really see the point now considering Game Builder Garage is releasing next month.
So I never really understood the roblox craze, every time I see footage and from the maybe 30 minutes I've played, it just seems like a broken glitchy mess and not much more, like sure I can get why people would play it, but I don't understand why it's minecraft levels of popularity with stuff like merch and in-game currency, can anyone explain or am I just OOOOOLD?
I actually would be down for this. Roblox went through its "play this ironically" phase right back to "I would play this unironically as a 24 year old" phase.
@Doofenshmirtz - Roblox is MASSIVE with kids particularly under 13. The Switch is barely a blip on the radar by comparison.
Roblox is a platform that allows thousands of fan-made games (which explains the jankiness of many titles). Obviously some games are better than others.
Although the graphics are poor, this allows it to run on almost any device. My child advises that almost all the kids in class play Roblox.
That's the biggest drawcard - they can easily play and communicate with their friends in it, and many games are non-violent so it attracts a lot of female players.
The text chat is auto-moderated and it does a pretty good job. I'm not sure how they will handle chat with Switch. It will kill the amount of players if text chat is lost.
But Nintendo is losing a fortune by not tapping into this market.
Switch trying to run Roblox: OOF
@Low_ink Theres alot of Games targeted towards Adults like Phantom Forces. Theres a game for everyone
@Doofenshmirtz I use to be like this when I first tried out the game and I taught it was the worse game. But then after playing lots of games , I just realized it was a platform for everybody.
Maybe Nintendo could make a deal with ROBLOX to bring back Pokemon brick Bronze
We're a gaming house, and all the kids play Roblox. It's the most played game in the house, easily, because of the kids and how much they play it. They're on it all the time, when not doing school. They talk with friends/family almost daily, using Messenger or the like, while playing the games together. It's extremely popular in the younger ages, and has a huge variety of games. Some games are pretty solid, others not so much, which makes it pretty close to being a console for games really. Roblox went publicly traded just a month ago? 3 weeks ago? Not long, so that means they're basically only concerned with profits at this point, and will attempt to get their system of games in front of as many people as possible. Maybe this would be something to advertise the next Switch with? Makes sense to me, since Nintendo and Roblox have a huge shared audience.
Roblox is one of the best game for me I always wait for update I always play with Synapse X from https://synapsex.co/
Roblox is a really fun game when its time to get creative
