Re: Soapbox: Life Is Strange On Nintendo Switch Signals Better LGBTQ+ Rep To Come

Scollurio

Loved the original game. I don't care for anyones skin color or sexual orientation. I do care though if it gets all the attention and story telling and skill take a backseat for politics. Stop it. It's proven time and time again: GET WOKE, GO BROKE. Most of the gay people I know are absolutely no LGBTQ+whatever activists and just live their lifes to be happy and that's how it should be!

I'd love to have a pimmped up Gameboy. Monochrome, high contrast, high backlight screen and have people work around these limitations. Grandiose battery life (10+ hours) and pair it with some kind of "game dev studio" to create and export home brew games. Like that game studio thing on Switch. Boosts sales across the board and teaches people basic programming and gaming principles. Yay!

Re: Valve Responds To 'Switch Vs Steam Deck' Comparisons, Insists It's "Going After" A Different Audience

To me, that's a gimick. Too weak for enthusiasts, too bulky and little battery power to remain relevant on the go. More power to PC gamers, but I think it's more viable to use a gaming PC instead and if you so wish do some kind of game-streaming to an external device.

I wish a Switch Pro is still coming. I'm perfectly fine with my Switch as is, but given the chance to have the games run a TAD BIT better at times, I'd take the opportunity. The Steam Deck still only has a (albeit great) integrated graphics chip and most games will not be fully optimized for that kind of form factor. I feel like the BEST reasons to own a PC are games that are played with mouse and keyboard. To this demographic the Steam Deck does very little imho.

That said, at the end of the day, WHO CARES. Get what you like. Simple as that.

Re: Doctor Who: The Edge Of Reality Arrives In September Starring Jodie Whittaker And David Tennant

@jump All a matter of perception. I liked that they talked about her for so long. She was a central piece of the plot (like you said) and it felt more "real" to me that she wasn't just forgotten when when the story progressed. Russel T Davis was more enjoyable for me than Moffat, even though Moffat had a few brilliant episodes but to me ran dry of creativity in his later days of writing for Who.

But I can't really blame him. If you're tasked with constantly putting out quality content to a Show that in reality has had almost EVERY storyline possible already due to it's nature, there's bound to be a few duds here and there.

@Classic603 I know what you mean and can relate. But this goes beyond that. Political themes have entered the realm of Dr. Who and unfortunately Whittaker isn't a very good actress. These two factors combined curbed the interest of many viewers. I've watched only 2 episodes out of order of Whittaker's Doctor and could barely watch it. It really took a nosedive since Tennant and Smith days.

The recent change in leadership and writers of course plays a huge role as well. And no I am not being political here, but it's perfectly fine to say "nope, don't like that product anymore for reasons X and Y."

With recent numbers indicating that Dr. Who is falling off an even deeper cliff, I wonder what the future for the series will hold. Rumor has it that the regeneration scene was filmed 2 times with greenface on, one female and one male because apparently they can't find anyone willing to step into what the recent writers and producers left behind. Watched and loved it up until Capaldi.

Re: Reminder: Trial Version Of Monster Hunter Stories 2 Available On Switch

Wow, the demo is REALLY beefy, I love the visual style, the silly humor, that fat cat. It's even more enticing than RISE in some aspects. Love MH and this is just another milestone. Love the special moves, the monster collecting. Argh. And your avatars are SO CUTE. Love it, even though mine came out "too yellow" and I hope we can change skin color later on (as of now in the demo there's no option to do so).

Re: Anniversary: The Nintendo 64 Launched 25 Years Ago Today

Scollurio

I wonder if that hype is real, that GBA and N64 might come onto NSO today. Honestly I'd much prefer having the virtual console back. This is all garbage. No incentive for Nintendo to put out "free games" the way it is. Just make us pay a fifth time for old games all over again. If the price is right, I won't mind.

Oh, and finally give us voicechat lobbies online. I mean come on, even XBOX had it back in the day...

Re: Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cloud Version Confirmed For Switch

@Jayvir It's funny how the world is pushing for evermore bandwith, like that 5G rollout over here in Europe, and then when there's finally enough bandwith we cream it with streaming not only 4K video content all over the place but now games too. In a not too distant future the Internet will be LIGHTNING fast but FEEL like it's 1999 all over again.

At least I could start a new EverQuest toon then...
