Re: Here's Why Switch 2 Joy-Con And Pro Controllers Don't Have Analogue Triggers

Scollurio

@Shepdawg1 Forza series is rumored to come to Switch, unplayable without a proper analogue input. I mean come on it's industry standard.

Imagine this whole thing from the perspective of "having a mushy d-pad". Oh I don't care because I prefer analogue stick anyways. Yeah well, but having a decent d-pad makes the retro and platformer crowd happy, without taking away anything from anyone.

Same thing with good analogue triggers.

I hope that at least analogue INPUT from the triggers is recognized and supported by Nintendo when using a SN30 Pro2 for example by 8bitdo.

Seriously. This is a major blunder. Even First Person Shooters are more immersive when you need to actually "pull the trigger".
Okay then do away with gyroscope and rumble too, because hey it's niche anyways and more direct if you just press the D-pad.

Nintendo...

Re: Rumour: Another Xbox Game Could Be Racing Onto Switch 2, It's Claimed

@dew12333 huh that’s an odd take! Any game that leans more towards a sim racer is almost unplayable with digital triggers only. Sim racing tries to simulate the real driving experience and nuanced gas input is key to car control. Imagine in real life your gas pedal can only do „none“ and „full throttle“. 😅

It’s perfectly fine to prefer digital triggers though, but for the full „true“ racing experience you need analogue input. Your bad experience with them may come from a lack of experience, it takes a lot of muscle memory and fine motor skills to really make the best from analogue triggers!

I’m pretty sure regardless if there are analogue triggers for switch 2 most games will be playable with digital triggers too from a technical standpoint. you’ll just never be near competitive - if you care for that!

Playing a racing game with digital triggers to me is like playing Doom with a steering wheel. It’s possible but clunky and stupid! 😂

Re: Lexar Is Apparently Releasing A Switch 2 'microSD Express' Card

Scollurio

You should really mention that this is new tech and supposedly will have transfer rates of about 900 MB/s. Which puts it beyond SATA 6 SSD speeds, which is very nice. That's the reason for the price.

(probably someone mentioned this already in the comments, sorry didn't read them all)

1 TB seem fine tbh, but that's just me.

Re: Rumour: Diablo 4 Is Claimed To Be In Development For Switch 2

I guess we will get lots of remasters, re-releases from other multiplatform games and I am perfectly happy with it. I just hope this time the joycons have analogue triggers or at least that the Switch 2 supports analogue triggers for example on a new PRO controller. I really need some serious racing fix besides kart racers, as much as I love Mario Kart...

Re: New Mario Kart 9 Teased For Switch 2

Scollurio

Love what I see here, but the Mario Kart screenshots make something obvious to me, the bezels feel odd. Like someone forgot to "zoom the actual display" all the way outwards to hit the physical edges of the screen. It looks odd.

Other than that I just hope those triggers are ANALOGUE for proper racing game support!

Re: Tech Fans Have Gone Full 'Layton' In Analysing The 'Switch 2' Motherboard

@nocdaes I'm in the "I'm happy with Switch as is, but the games will run a tad better with Switch 2"-camp. And that is fine with me. I'm not into triple A gaming anymore since it's shyte anyways most of the time. I actually enjoy remakes and retro or neo-retro games and the occassional first party Nintendo title. Switch 2 won't change that, just smoothen the experience a bit.

Hope the eShop improves...

Re: F-Zero 99 Updated To Version 1.5.1, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Scollurio

@Yosher I'm with you on that, I feel though that if a new F-Zero can be successful they will HAVE to drop this one to not cannibalize their own audience. But at this point, besides graphics (and I don't mind the retro aesthetics one bit) I can hardly imagine what a proper new F-Zero must be like to justify the abandonment of 99.

Maybe this is it, the whole F-Zero resurrection IS 99.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Two More Titles

Scollurio

With the constant craze about retro gaming and the constant failures of modern gaming, I really wonder if it's about time someone (Nintendo?) does something proper about being able to play and own (who am I kidding) retro games again. I was wondering if that "NSO test thingy" you could sign up for is about a new, better way to dabble into the back catalogues of gaming companies. I'd love to enjoy old games in a somewhat palpable way.

Last time on the loo I imagined this:
You go to a website, pick 25 games from a list and have them shipped to you on a physical Switch 2 cart, with cover and all. Basically your custom, totally legal because paid for, retro game compilation with no duds and just what you like.

Retro á la cart.

I'd be all over this.

Then sell us filters and enhancements on the Switch 2 system for 1 dollar each and you even got your micro transactions crap in.

One can dream.
