....A new title update or two would be nice, Capcom...don't make us wait till summer of next year for the expansion without any new monsters.
I will get to this at some point. And is his hands a new weapon are is it apart of the armor effects?
Also I know this is off topic but @NintendoLife could you or maybe you guys didn't know you don't have to as I don't really care or if this is a article already and I just missed it, But for pokemon unite, They said Blastoise is coming to the game early sep, sep 1st, here is the link.

It's not even just that Akuma's in this game that sounds amazing but it's freaking Street Fighter V Akuma with his glorious facial hair
@Pokester99 Maybe handheld, but docked it looks fine. Obviously not as good as it's going to look on PC, but it still looks good.
I hope G rank isn't too far away
@Pokester99 @GeneJacket
That's not even true in handheld. The game looks incredible in handheld. I know. I've put over 450 hrs into it, on top of 40 hrs in the demo. Quite possibly the best looking handheld video game of all time
And on the TV it's not even remotely close to looking anything of the sort. I believe it runs between 756 and 820p iirc. And that's pretty standard fare for AAA games on Switch. Games don't look like vaseline until you get down to 540p docked or 360p handheld, like most Vita games ran, and even then it's a combination with overly aggressive filtering.
7-8 million ppl bought the game and overwhelming consensus is the game looks insanely good. I tend to agree with them. There's always gonna be one or two ppl making outlandish claims on the internet though. It's unavoidable. Like the ppl on Twitter trying to say SMTV looks like a PS2 game. Anyone who's seen the game knows better.
Some screenshots I personally took while playing. They speak for themselves.
I agree with @JaxonH. It looks great and the framerate is stable. Time for me to jump on for a quest or two.
@Pokester99
Anything that doesnt run on native resolution of the screen it's being displayed on tends to look like vaseline
That, right there, is where we disagree, and will never come to any sort of understanding. I can assure you, if you go buy a bottle of vaseline and rub on your screen, you'll barely make out shapes of light behind it. Yet I can make out intricate details in sharp clarity. So the comparison is simply false.
Ppl can make their own minds up. The screenshots are there for all to see.
@Pokester99
For the record, I have a PC with a 2080 ti and run native 4k. Doesn't change the fact this game still looks amazing.
native resolution at a consistent framerate with graphics that blow MH Rise out of the water.
That's simply not true. I've played Killzone Mercenary. And it doesn't even come close. It's hard to take what you're saying seriously when you're bashing Monster Hunter Rise but praising Killzone, a game that ran at a far lower res and had far worse graphics.
Or since you don't mind lower resolutions, you'll find Gravity Rush to be the most amazing portable game ever made.
I have no issue with the resolution of Gravity Rush. I own it. It's a good game. Not that good though. I can name 100 Switch games far better.
Your bias is clearly evident here.
@JaxonH I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt. I haven't seen what it looks like in handheld, as I've never undocked my Switch.
@Pokester99
My standard for Switch is the average Switch game. You talk alot about "for this hardware" and "for this generation" but just a minute ago were saying how you game on PC and use that as your standard, yet is that not different hardware? You can't have it both ways- argue Switch isn't good compared to PC but defend Vita as "for its time" and "for the hardware".
The game is easily in the top 1% of best looking Switch games. Feel free to disagree, just know that 7-8 million ppl bought the game and everyone else agrees it looks amazing. You simply have an opinion nobody else shares.
@GeneJacket @Jimmy_G_Buckets
Ya, framerate is fantastic, both docked and handheld. When you put nearly 500 hrs into a game you know full well. Virtually everyone who's played the game agrees it looks and runs well.
Sometimes I forget just how amazing it is in handheld mode. Every time I see it, it still impresses me.
@Pokester99
Lol I can't take you serious anymore. You've gotta be trolling. That or this game looks so amazing it's made you incredibly insecure and you're looking to repair your damaged ego by knocking the game.
I'm just gonna block you my guy. There's fair criticism, and there's unwarranted hating stemming from bias. When you take a game thats easily top 1% best looking game on the system and somehow claim its an atrocity, you're trolling.
You'll have to try to spin that yarn elsewhere my guy. Nobody here is buying what you're trying to sell.
@Pokester99 "I have an opinion people with standards share."
That's how you tell everyone you're an elitist a-hole, without telling everyone you're an elitist a-hole. Well done!
@Pokester99 Jesus Christ, who cares?
Myself, JaxonH, and millions of other players seem to agree that Rise looks great for a Switch title. Does it run as smoothly as it would on one of the other consoles or a PC? No. Does it take away from the experience in any meaningful way? Absolutely not. It's running on a mobile APU, for God sake, it was never going to be locked at 30 running at 1080p. For what it IS, though, it's excellent.
If you don't agree, that's fine. Opinions are entirely subjective, yours included, so don't posture like your opinion is some kind of gospel. Being an elitist d*ck isn't going to convert anyone to your side.
@Pokester99 Maybe you accidentally left a jar of vaseline in front of your screen?
@Pokester99 I cannot confirm this. I regularly use my PS5 and also the Switch and I have to say, for a Switch game MH Rise looks stunning. I was afraid that I will not enjoy Switch games because of graphics quality anymore after getting the PS5, but luckily that's not the case!
@Pokester99 you’re one of those people where other people around you in real life have to pretend to like you. You’re the epitome of a troll.
Makes me so glad im not a frame rate boff or resolution elitist. Means im able to enjoy any game i want to.
@Pokester99 I cannot confirm that it looks like it has a layer Vaseline on it! And the resolution is not bad. You can call it bad if you compare it to something, which you did several times (gaming PC and Vita). It's a stunning game on switch and probably among the best looking Switch games up to date!
Frame rate people are the worst.
Thank god this site has an ignore function.
@Pokester99,
I played the demo on my Projector on a 100 inch screen, and it still looked fine, in fact it looked much sharper than the resolution it's touted at, but each to their own etc etc.
@Pokester99
"I have an opinion people with standards share"
Uh...... no you don't 😉 you just have an opinion, you don't belong to a group with standards
@JaxonH The problem is that MH Rise uses dynamic resolution. So I can definitely notice this on our 4K OLED TV. If a game outputs native 1080p docked, the TV can actually upscale it fine without image quality loss.
But when the resolution drops to say 886p, then it quickly becomes a blurry mess as it gets out of the fixed ratio.
Just take a 4K Monitor. Downscale to 2K or 1080p and you see the image still looks acceptable.
Then try to pick a resolution that is odd and it immediately turns into a blurry mess, due to the way upscaling works.
That is why I personally hate dynamic resolution in games, as it's annoying as hell giving you that pop-in effect where the screen image constantly shifts between sharp and blurry.
@Pokester99 vita fan raises hand
Killzone Mercenary runs at dynamic resolution, but Guerrilla did make the best out of it to make the best looking Vita game we would ever see.
Anyhow Rise looks fine for what it is, my problems with the game are more related to the game itself and not the looks.
And I say that after hundreds of hours in World, which on my PC runs and looks many times better, but I just adjust my expectations to what I play on the system I play, I said Rise looks fine for what it is because that is what I expected from the Switch, of course if it was running on something more powerful I would say "nah, this resolution looks poor"
Graphics of Rise are fine for the most part, but they take a hit on the resolution, and while a game like Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a graphically less impressive game, the fact is always runs at native 1080p docked / 720p portable does make it look more pleasing resolution wise to me.
Maybe we all should go back using CRTs, then the whole resolution thing wouldn't be a issue anymore.
I have an LG C1 OLED 4ktv myself. And ya, you can always tell the difference between native resolution and that which is less. Even so, the game still looks great.
@JaxonH Agreed.
@JaxonH Agree 100%.I have found only one trouble with MH Rise-I do not need any game beside Mh Rise:)
@Pokester99,
My point was any game has to be pretty good visual wise to hold up on my Projector, I can tell the poor resolution of the Switch home screen a mile off, the Monster hunter game looked awesome.
And it depends what quality the projector is, some are very poor, the more expensive ones are awesome.
@Pokester99,
So there is no difference in resolutions on a projector?, not sure I get your point on this.
I've just started playing this week and really enjoying it. I am amazed how they got this to run on the Switch in such a nice smooth way. The modified RE engine for the Switch has delivered a great Monster Hunter experience
@Pokester99 have you actually played the game or just base this on video or screenshots? Cause its definitely not. I mean its not 4k like world but its clearer then the previous handheld titles by a long shot.
Love RISE. it's beautiful in every capacity. Can't wait for G Rank.
Celebrate the update by engaging in a few hunts. I know I will.
Seconding the praise for the Ignore Button. Haven't had to use it in a while.
The trailer for akuma blew me away!
Looked like a whole new game.
Would love a open world themed street fighter game lol challenging players to a match.
What a great game. Loving the free updates and content. Leading industry practice here folks
@Pokester99 God you're hilarious... You're so stuck on "non native resolution means bad picture" I'm not sure you even know what any of it means or if you even see any problem with Rises visuals.. Rather it seems as though you just want a reason to flaunt your "superior knowledge" not realizing that you'll look like an idiot.
Are you just going to completely forget that pretty much every ps4 and Xbox one game you ever played was running at 900p on a 1080p screen? No words for that in this conversation? Running at native resolution is obviously ideal... Higher resolution is better after all. It's not the necessity you're making it out to be... Especially in a super small screen where the pixel density of a lower resolution is comparable to the pixel density of a much larger 1080p screen! Pixel density is what matters! Not native resolution.. Or resolution period.
@Pokester99 because its not lower rez? I mean you can test it on tv it runs at 1080p diping a bit maybe while in handheld it runs at 720p both pretty much standard resolution. If your complaining its not at 4k you do realize your on the switch right and that your eye barely registers that high of a resolution. But complainers gonna complain i guess
From one of the interviews, it sounds like Capcom still has the old-school assets stored somewhere. I love Rise and its World-esque graphics, but now that Rise has made its mark on Switch, a couple years from now I would love another MH released on Switch using old-school assets. Like a MonsterHunterG HD rerelease with 32-player lobbies @_@
