@chardir they've updated it since my comment. My hours didn't fit any of the criteria listed originally. I have 70+ hours. So no, at the time I wrote that comment it wasn't correct. They just like to make me look like a ***** by silently fixing :')
@Giancarlothomaz the imprisoning war mentioned in this game is actually referring to an event that took place before skyward sword (think the imprisoned). It is possible that the imprisoning war has actually lasted since ancient times since in skyward sword it was a repeated event to keep the imprisoned in check. I think it refers to the overall never ending war against Ganon
It takes place about five years after Breath of the Wild, it is in a timeline where the sacred realm has become the dark world. The ancient times are set before Skyward Sword. It is possible that it is yet again a new timeline split after Zelda's actions in this game
I hate him so much... I'm a completionist so he really breaks up the gameplay for me in a bad way. Knowing that there is no map indicator for him doesn't help (at least with koroks you get an icon)
Not sure if the information that if you only play in master mode you don't get this or your horses is accurate. I read it depends on what your most recent save is (whether it's normal or master mode). Could be wrong though
An easy solution for Link not speaking is to have Link not be in the film. It is after all the Legend of ZELDA. He can wake up at the end of the movie :')
@betterman I really don't think it's necessary personally. But hey, if it confused you, I don't know... I guess they could have added a flashback scene of them both meeting during the Peaches song. Would have worked. But I still think it's fine the way it is. He has a picture of her on his piano... he knows her, she knows him, they've already met 🤷♂️ It's never established how they know each other in the games either
@AstroTheGamosian yeah they could have done that. The film could have been a road movie about a long journey to the kong kingdom, with many characters and situations on the way. But, that would be a different movie from the one they were telling
@AstroTheGamosian it was explained. He said about ruling the kingdoms together. It was a power play. And also... he just liked her, I don't know why you need more motivation than that. Is she not attractive? Unique? Powerful? Why does he need to tell you/the audience why he likes her? This goes back to my point about spoon feeding... unnecessary
And I'm not sure why you added the part about your experience writing, not sure if that was meant to suggest I lack experience in that area, or to imply that you have better knowledge than me. Because you really shouldn't make such assumptions about someone you don't know.
And besides, anyone can have creativity. You don't necessarily need experience. Just imagination and inspiration
@JohnnyMind yeah it's an 8/10 movie for me. 5/10 is ridiculous. The fast pace was definitely an issue. Far too much happened in the 90 minutes and they didn't give the audience enough time to understand what was happening from scene to scene. But yeah, it's an animation. You can't just easily whip up another 10 minutes of footage
One of my favourite easter eggs/reference in the movie is that the first part of the film went from world 1-1 to 1-4. With the more obvious 1-1 reference of Mario & Luigi running through Brooklyn. Going underground to 1-2. Mario jumping on tall mushrooms in 1-3 and then 1-4 Luigi jumping over the lava and a castle (it even did a riff on the 1-4 music). I just thought that was such a cool thing that not everyone would pick up on.
@AstroTheGamosian "And there was very little motivation from Bowser as to why he wanted to marry Princess Peach." ... what? He has a massive crush on her LMAO. What more motivation do you need?
@Clyde_Radcliffe Luigi went from being a coward who always gets his brother to protect him, to jumping in front of Mario and saving him instead. That is character development. Mario who kept screwing up at his work, finally succeeded due to his unwillingness to quit, and made his father proud, that is character development. Not sure what people mean honestly... I feel like I watched a different movie
I just got the impression it was too fast paced for some people, so they imagined plot holes in their head that didn't exist. Things weren't spoonfed. They were suggested throughout. And clearly critics need things to be spoonfed more than a general audience it seems. Peach meets another human like her, of COURSE she's going to be very interested to know about him. That's what the whole "who is this guy?" "He's not important!" exchange is all about.
She put a lot of weight on her shoulders. All these ***** toads she needs to protect but she knows they are hopeless. Says she will get the Kong's help and acts all strong but she doesn't really feel that, she knows they won't listen to her. She just puts on a good show. So yeah, when this guy comes along and makes it past her guards she's like "huh... maybe he can help me and also, I'm very interested in who this guy is. Maybe he can help me find out where I come from" etc.
The whole rainbow road thing... again... a blink and you'll miss it plot. Bowser basically says one line about it, "they're taking a secret passage to surprise me? two can play at that game" or something like that. And he ambushes them. So that plan FAILS. That's why it didn't go anywhere. They all got captured. If anyone's played New Super Mario Bros U (though they don't have to anyway). They would know that rainbow paths are created as shortcuts when exiting from a secret exit. THAT's what that was. A shortcut to Bowser, but he noticed. Simple. Easy to understand. Just pay attention to the movie...
As for the whole "there's only one super star" thing. It absolutely never says that in the film. Clearly some people just didn't like that Bowser said "I finally found it". A simple fix... "I finally found it, a super star" that's ALL you need to do in your head. And why shouldn't Bowser want to use a super star? They ARE rare, and it would absolutely be something he is after.
I don't know, I'm ranting a bit. But few of the critiques made sense to me. The film had ONE issue to me. It was too damn fast. And that's a common issue with animation. And I get why. So it's a free pass for me
Street Fighter 2, Castlevania and Mega Man are examples of why the expansion pack should start including certain NES and SNES titles. It is quite clear the extra cost is contributing to these additions
@Quarbit yeah that threw me too. But it does have a lot of bonus behind the scenes stuff, as well as the brand new colour update which would take some time. Still a little pricey but a BIT more understandable
@KingMike I think you misunderstand me. It's a great game. But VERY short. When I wrote that I didn't know it included all the behind the scenes stuff. I expected it to be very barebones
This is fantastic and I love that they partnered with toruzz to make the DX version! But... the switch copy shouldn't be that expensive... I don't think this price is "affordable" at $34.99 when you consider that it was available for purchase on the 3DS virtual console for 10x cheaper until very recently :/
Like they'll make you think that this pricing is okay because a physical copy of the gameboy release is hundreds but for the switch version at least it's not a good deal. Maybe it is just a pricing issue with the physical copy and it will be more reasonable digitally. But this game should really just be part of the NSO service.
Paying that price for physical game boy copies is fine though, I don't mind that

@NCChris I was talking about the adult content created in the stage builder... and that's not asking for permission. That's demanding it. In the end it is their decision
@Platinum-Bucket No one here is against modding. It is about permission. Steam workshop is allowed because developers give permission. Nintendo don't give permission because they are a family friendly company and it causes them too much headache. It's fair enough, particularly when you see the kinds of stages people create in Smash Bros Ultimate
@NCChris Yeah but his youtube is monetised and he's clearly making a lot from it if he's able to pay modders 10k to create mods... which... there's profit involved there
@NCChris This is wrong, mods are considered derivative works and legally you require permission from the copyright holder first. It was the final ruling in this court case and still applies today https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro_Star_v._FormGen_Inc.
The only reason stuff like steam workshop is allowed is because the developers are giving permission. Nintendo have never given such permission. Everyone and their aunt knows that Nintendo does not permit mods for their work
@Duffman92 Exactly this. Heck there are still PLENTY of mod videos still on youtube. Nintendo quite clearly didn't like the whole "I'm going to give 10k to modders" thing. And that is VERY fair
The simple solution is to ask the copyright holder for permission before creating derivative works Not sure why everyone thinks this is fair use. It is absolutely not and video game companies have won legal cases about this multiple times in the past.
The exception being the game genie because it didn't actually add anything to the existing code.
It's really quite simple... if you want to make a mod, ASK first. If you're too afraid to ask, out of fear of not being granted permission, then you already know you're doing something dodgy. Copyright law is there to protect us.
If this happened to a small indie developer where someone made a profit off of someone else's work, it would be a whole different story. So big corporation or not, they are setting an essential precedent to protect smaller companies. Plus this guy has millions of subscribers and paid 10k to modders, it's whatever, he'll be fine
@-wc- Haha, they 100% did that because of my comment. The one they removed just said "how is this news?". They were making a point... not sure what it was though. Think they just did it to be funny
