Re: Best Remakes And Remasters On Nintendo Switch

Scapetti

I feel like A Boy and His Blob is too much of a reimagining to be considered a remake or remaster. It's more like a reboot sequel. Personally I'd take that off the list and replace it with Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. Regardless of how Monkey Target has been butchered

Edit: or maybe Destroy All Humans?

Re: Best Switch LEGO Games

As others have said, Lego Marvel 2 is absolutely awful and it's certainly not better than Lego DC. And this is coming from a Marvel fan

Re: Talking Point: How Long Does Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Take To Beat, Really?

Finishing the game to me is doing the four divine beasts, beating ganon and doing all the shrines. Completing it would be to upgrade all your armour sets, get all the koroks and do the kilton monster medals (edit: also completing the map, there are some locations which don't even have korok seeds). I've actually done all the koroks and kilton but not the armour sets on my OG file, and probably never will.

When I replayed it in master mode during the pandemic I "finished" the game by these rules. Can't remember if I did the trial of the sword in master mode? Might have done... but definitely got the master cycle. In the end it's up to you what you consider done. You could even challenge yourself to open every single chest. Though some are glitched unfortunately

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

@echoplex Having to buy the arcade archives Nintendo games individually was the worst. I'm so glad they're taking the subscription approach now. So if they say no to individual ports for their legacy consoles I'm glad! I know they'll release them somehow.

I don't think Mario 3D All Stars was limited just because of Mario 64. Let's hope they add gamecube games in the same way.

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

@TheRealMW I'm not sh***ing on Nightdive. I'm just saying I understand why Nintendo want to do it their way. My point about the price is that if Nintendo charged that much they wouldn't get away with it. You can defend Nightdive but that wasn't at all my point. I just don't know why everyone is like "bad Nintendo, they should partner with Nightdive". I could do without all the fancy extras. Nintendo's games were great as they were

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

Scapetti

Have Nightdive actually had any experience with gamecube ports? Because I can see why Nintendo aren't interested in them making N64 ports (they're already doing that themselves). I don't know why everything has to be written so as to make Nintendo seem like the bad guys. Nightdive are charging £15 for Turok alone! I'm not paying £15 each for N64 games when Nintendo will make them part of their online service. If they're shy about gamecube it means those games are eventually on the horizon too.

Re: Mother 3 Producer Would "Love To See" GBA Entry Receive A Worldwide Release

Scapetti

@Coalescence it might be more to do with Itoi rather than the other stuff. Or even due to Ape Inc as Pokemon games also tend to have a hard time appearing on virtual console. Nintendo don't solely own the rights so there are some legalities involved. About who gets paid and how they get paid etc.

Take Futurama's Bender for example, the voice actor not returning for the new Futurama over money disagreements. Think of that situation but if the voice actor actually owned the character. Itoi owns these characters which is why you see his copyright in Smash Bros. I use Bender as an example because the voice actor obviously does want to return and he does want people to hear his voice but they need to come to an agreement first which can take a while.

Not saying it's Itoi's fault but he owns it so he asks for a certain amount. And it's whether Nintendo is willing to pay. Eventually they come to an agreement. Same reason we don't have Super Mario RPG yet.

It's a shame this stuff isn't simpler really but it's better to sort this stuff out in advance rather than Nintendo release it and then get sued. Which MAYBE they could do. But then it's a whole legal battle about ownership and general unpleasantry

Re: Review: EarthBound - A Quirky, Cosmic Adventure Bound To Warm Your Heart

Scapetti

@DJDM perhaps! So long as you do play Earthbound after! NES games can be really good. Particularly the later ones. Super Mario Bros 3 and Kirby's Adventure are as good as if not better than the entries on the SNES. Some are just short little arcade things like Donkey Kong and Balloon Fight. Still fun but once you've played for a little bit there's not much more to it

Re: Scathing Report Suggests All Is Not Well At Team17 Following NFT Backtrack

Scapetti

@BarryandWill It actually really upsets me that your comment is the one getting all the likes... how did people get brought up to be so full of spite and vengeance?

I refuse to accept that badmouthing people or companies behind their back is okay. There are two sides to every coin, we don't know their side, and this is how people get "cancelled". It's just... unpleasant. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that

Re: Scathing Report Suggests All Is Not Well At Team17 Following NFT Backtrack

Seriously though... can employees not go to reporters with their issues about a company. Especially if they're still working there and are doing it secretly because they're "fearful of losing their job". If you don't like the place you're working at. Leave. It's the best and easiest way to show a manager you're unhappy. Rather than trashing the whole company and potentially destroying everyone else's job as well as your own. It's incredibly selfish and is not going to make anyone's situation better. Like I'm sorry if the situation is bad and I get that you want to share it. But this just makes things unpleasant for everyone. It's like having a mole in a spy organisation. Like seriously, why do it this way? Does anyone actually think this is an appropriate response to being mismanaged?

Re: Team17 Is Jumping On The NFT Train With 'MetaWorms'

Scapetti

@DTFaux it would benefit me to be able to sell digital content as I would be able to make money back on digital purchases. Like being able to sell physical collectors items like amiibo etc. it depends if the NFTs have value to the consumer. If you don't think artwork has value you don't need to buy it. But NFTs have a lot of use cases and we're just scratching the surface. Artwork is just the simplest to understand right now. But you could buy for example the master file of a movie. Like owning the original print. That's crazy for collectors and would definitely be something sought after. It's just digital collecting. If you don't see the value in collecting pogs or bottle caps then that's fine. But some people enjoy it
