@BTB20 no one's actually said what it's about. Almost as if no one sharing it has bothered to watch the two hours themselves. And you're sharing it with people who are not knowledgable so they will eat up anything this guy says. You can't rely on one person's opinion for information. Yes someone can do the research for you and make a video but you have no idea what his agenda is. People should find information from a variety of sources. Not simply one video with a heck of a lot of views. If a Justin Bieber song claimed the world was flat it wouldn't make it true
@BTB20 I've clicked on it about ten times because people keep sharing it. I'm just going to copy and paste here what I said to the last person who shared it because exactly the same applies here...
"I'm not going to watch some person's two hour opinion. If you want more people to know why NFTs are a bad thing then share the knowledge in a succinct manner. @Richnj I'm not going to watch some person's two hour opinion. If you want more people to know why NFTs are a bad thing then share the knowledge in a succinct manner. And saying digital items have a worse carbon footprint than physical objects is completely irrational to me. It could be possible to make a MetroidVania game where you do not obtain upgrades at all and the game depends entirely on skill. You could progress and change the environment by flooding areas to allow you to reach high areas. Or gravity controls, turning on a bubble machine etc. I think this would be interesting to see
@Richnj I'm sorry but how is partnering with a company on an NFT project such a bad thing? And sure, no one forced him to do that. But no one forces him to do anything. What if he randomly decided to sell stuff on Etsy. Would he deserve abuse for that? Is he asking for it? How are you meant to know what can cause you to get abuse on twitter when completely harmless things will make people hate you.
And no, I have no idea what you are talking about or what those companies are...
@Richnj you disagree with me about the livelihood thing. That's all. Plenty of celebrities have been through the **** when they think their career is over. We're all just people. With strong emotions. Celebrities tend to have it worse. It takes a certain kind of person to get to that point. A need and desire to be loved. Not saying you should love people that need that but it's going to hurt more than most when you get thousands of randoms hating on you on twitter. Which would already destroy a "normal" person. As a celebrity you are forced to take it, why? Nobody deserves that level of abuse...
@SakuraHaruka Boycotting is bigger than NFTs at the moment. Boycott Warner Bros for destroying the Snyderverse. Boycott the Sonic the Hedgehog movie for making Sonic's eyes too small. Boycott Spotify for allowing someone to make a podcast about whether young people need the covid vaccine... Boycott Chris Pratt for... (I don't even know what the reason is for this one).
@kupocake I simply meant because you compared the adoption of NFTs to a "huge-scale ransomware attack". And also because you just referred to it as a bandwagon which I believe has negative connotations also. You may not have intended to express an opinion but it came across that way.
So am I right in thinking your opinion is that NFTs are bad because they get hated upon?
Dudes literally threatened to cancel him... this is why Snyder's Justice League was made. I'm a little sick of the toxic fan culture that threatens people's livelihoods just because you don't agree with something. Even right now if you look at the replies to his most recent tweet there are people saying "an apology isn't good enough". Like... wow... what the hell happened to people to make them so full of hate (oh yeah, a pandemic)
@Krysus I'm neither saying they're amazing nor am I saying they're a scam. They are just what they are. Not everything has to be so black and white. It's not "life changing technology" versus "total piece of **** scam".
This is what gets me, the extreme views, on EITHER side. There is nothing wrong with NFTs as a concept and I believe they can have some real use cases. People will buy NFTs of things they support. They won't for things they don't. So yeah there are people selling monkey avatars. But are they actually selling? Compare to Banksy selling an NFT. An actual artist. Again, you don't have to support them. But I'm glad some people out there are supporting artists.
Anyone can sell an NFT. Just like anyone can sell physical artwork. It's simply a means of distribution.
Seems a bit over the top to remove my comment but I'll write it again without the "childish" part if that's better for you guys.
Most people here are "flaming/arguing" both the company and people who are into the NFT scene by saying "**** these guys and shove their NFTs". So I responded to that.
Here's the watered down version:
Nobody cares if you want to boycott a company for unjust reasons. You don't need to tell everyone.
@andykara2003 geforce now performs the best and has a lot of customisation. It used to be the best one. But unfortunately the game selection has been reduced massively. Last I checked it has most of the ubisoft library though and plenty of indies. It used to be that you could play your entire steam library but that was only when the service was in beta. Admittedly I haven't checked it in a while but last I checked I was kinda disappointed. Plus it only lets you play games you already own so it's kinda dumb that it doesn't let you play everything now. It does let you use the service for free though for two hours at a time so that's a big plus.
Xbox cloud is what I use now, as it has the better selection of games (Gears of War, Halo, Doom, Psychonauts etc.) but it doesn't perform as well. And there's no customisation. (Geforce now lets you choose resolution and framerate depending on your internet connection for a silky smooth experience). There's no free option but you don't have to buy the games so you get a LOT for your money.
Stadia has a really poor selection of games so I didn't even bother with that one
@andykara2003 also, I'd like to consider myself hardcore casual haha. I'm a hardcore gamer, been playing since the NES and have played almost every Nintendo game. But I don't freak out about PC master race and playing with high refresh rate monitors and the like, so in that regard I'm "casual".
Edit: I do play with game mode on of course, I was just trying to make a comparison
@andykara2003 I mean I guess with the more post processing TVs kept adding the situation got worse. But at the beginning of HD TVs people didn't even know what game mode was and it also probably didn't even exist on TVs at the time. I was kind of referring to then rather than how it is now. The input latency with cloud gaming is actually pretty decent. As I said, I was able to play Psychonauts 2 which has platforming sections. Platforming is some of the hardest to deal with when it comes to input latency and I didn't even notice an issue. It's not perfect but it's a lot better than you'd expect
@BulkSlash why would that be the future? I remember when 3D gaming started and I thought it looked so ugly compared to the SNES. It felt like a huge step backwards... but now look at where we are! Cloud gaming is new technology in its infancy. It has a ways to go but it will get there. Internet speeds have been getting faster and faster
What I find interesting is that one of the main criticisms of cloud gaming is that you can't play everywhere... I feel I should remind people that back in the day you needed access to a TV to play your games. Imagine criticising mobile phones because not everywhere has network coverage...
@noobish_hat cloud gaming is more than that. In a world where we do have a constantly reliable connection. When we have 5G and the like. It will be a wonder. Games take up no storage, they don't require big bulky devices, and you can run them at the highest quality settings at 60fps. The input latency isn't even as bad as playing with an HDMI cable without game mode on. And people actually still play like that. Like yeah these games could be on the system but I'd rather not download a 50GB game when I could just stream it.
@CharlieGirl What exactly don't you like about it? As things currently stand we have no way of reselling digital copies of games. With NFT technology we could do that. We could use the technology to lend people digital games like you would a physical copy. It makes the proof of ownership so much easier.
And cloud gaming works, it DOES work. Maybe not so much on the switch but if Nintendo designed a console with it in mind it would work wonders. I've been able to play games I never otherwise would unless I spent the money on an xbox. I played Psychonauts 2 on my macbook with a Nintendo pro controller. It was amazing. I'd have completely missed out on the chance to play that game if it wasn't for cloud gaming.
And don't misappropriate Prince quotes just because you don't understand the technology.
... so a quick google search shows she is completely wrong and Link has his arrow on the other side of the bow. Perhaps she is mixing up BOTW Link with previous Links who were left handed? I suppose it's easier to believe the professional if they say it with another assertion. But I'd argue we are professionals; professional Nintendo fans
And @KateGray I hope you don't think I've been actively out to get you in articles. Someone here said that and I hope you don't feel that way also. It has never been my intention and I don't have any personal issue with you at all. And I'll try to keep in mind in future that my comments can be perceived that way. I really only @ mentioned you in this article because you happened to be the writer of this particular article. And I know there was that "clickbait" thing the other day but it was only that the headline bothered me and you did promptly fix it and I really appreciated that.
@Astral-Grain I genuinely feared the website was under new management or something because the content felt different. Those concerns have been washed away thanks to @antdickens
I think things will be better from now on. I'll be less concerned about the future of this website now that I know nothing is really changing. That thought got into my head from exchanges I had with others so it did become a genuine concern.
Definitely up for a group hug. Have a good weekend everyone!
@Astral-Grain I come here for Nintendo news, for "press releases" apparently. Which has been misattributed to me when @Damo was the one who said it. I expressed my views on what I'd like to see from a Nintendo news website. And had no intention of insulting anyone. Others were a little less polite me and I agreed with their sentiment but not their words. Can you kindly stop going for my jugular, thank you
@CharlieGirl I'm sorry but this is completely incorrect. The issue was closed after Ant's comment to me. It had ended. Then a group of you started attacking me. And I really don't know why. I've literally put an apology in every comment since and you're still doing it. There's nothing more I can say
@Damo the intent was insulting. The "highlights" and having to "put up with these comments". That is what I found to be insulting. You can decide it's not insulting but that's because you're not on the other end of it. It was insulting and upsetting. And I only checked her twitter to see it after I got random continued attacks on here like I had done something awful. I felt I was missing a part of a puzzle and I still feel that way. I genuinely don't know what is happening here but other commenters are putting words into my mouth. What did I do?
@Astral-Grain dude! I don't just call her out. I've called out many of the staff here. The comments are for expressing your opinion and that's what I've been doing. If I've offended anyone I apologise but why are you coming at me like this?
Ant addressed my concerns and I appreciated it greatly. I've said nothing untoward in this whole thread that I'm aware. My intention was not to make anyone's lives more difficult. I only comment on threads that I have an issue with. I come on here daily. Kate posts here all the time. If I had issue with all her content I would have posted on all her content. I have no issue with her and I like a lot of the stuff she posts here. I don't know what you're seeing but it's not what I'm seeing.
@CharlieGirl what aggressive accusations and assumptions are you referring to? I've apologised and I wasn't even aware I was being rude. What are you referring to? Please pinpoint because I am extremely confused right now
I've just seen Kate posted on twitter about me and others... that... is really not nice. @KateGray why? What did I do? So what if I say it's not Nintendo content and "can't you post about nice things". Why publicly humiliate me like that? We should feel free to comment on here without fear of that!
@antdickens I take great issue with this. I didn't notice it until now. I don't even know what to say. I feel really hurt and I don't know what I did to deserve that.
This isn't even the first time she's publicly complained about people here on her twitter. I was completely prepared to leave all this behind me but now I don't know what to think.
@Astral-Grain I didn't specifically call out Kate. I only @ mentioned her because she wrote this article. It was to the staff and I was not singling her out. And as far as I'm aware I have been polite with my comments but I apologise if you feel differently. I don't know what abuse you are referring to. Why are you confronting me? I genuinely don't understand and I think there has been some miscommunication somewhere
@antdickens a reader survey is a good shout sorry for some of the ruder comments from others. People have struggle expressing themselves when they're upset and I think everyone's a little fragile in these times
@antdickens Thank you, I actually really appreciate this reply and it does mitigate some concerns I had. I don't mind opinion pieces as such. Just sometimes some articles here can encourage a lot of drama in the comments. And I just hope this is learnt from in a positive way.
It has kind of felt recently to a lot of us that the site has been heading for a "we want drama for more clicks" type attitude. But I don't think this is intentional, it's probably just how different people write. I guess I just wanted more care to avoid this in future. I've also noticed some articles here get posted before they're ready. And it's like I said. I can understand why they're not ready due to the sheer amount of articles posted a day. But when basic factual information like whether Banjo is actually available yet or not gets missed. And there's opinion pieces in the same day that aren't entirely Nintendo related. It just makes me worry if anyone's even checking, you know? Like the mistake was up for the entire time until Banjo's actual release. I'd have just thought it would have been corrected during that time.
And I don't mean to tell you how the site should be run. It is of course only my opinion. But do people sign off on each other's work before publishing? If this isn't done already maybe it could be considered. I don't think your readers are desperate for articles at such a fast pace; a little more care would go a long way. And I'm aware I am speaking for others but I do think we'd appreciate less haste if it meant more accurate and carefully proofread information. A lot of the time it can just be the headline that's an issue rather than the content of the article itself.
Maybe over the years you've gathered a lot more new writers and so some new systems need to be in place that weren't before to keep things tight and controlled. I'm not sure. But thank you for a perfect response. I really appreciate it.
Also, just a random heads up for a potential news update (not sure if it warrants a whole article but it's something people will want to know). Ocarina of Time's water temple reflections were in fact fixed with the latest N64 NSO patch.

I genuinely don't know what is happening here but other commenters are putting words into my mouth. What did I do?
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
@Menardi I didn't do that! That wasn't me
Edit: I'm so confused, what is happening
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
@CharlieGirl what aggressive accusations and assumptions are you referring to? I've apologised and I wasn't even aware I was being rude. What are you referring to? Please pinpoint because I am extremely confused right now
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
I've just seen Kate posted on twitter about me and others... that... is really not nice. @KateGray why? What did I do? So what if I say it's not Nintendo content and "can't you post about nice things". Why publicly humiliate me like that? We should feel free to comment on here without fear of that!
@antdickens I take great issue with this. I didn't notice it until now. I don't even know what to say. I feel really hurt and I don't know what I did to deserve that.
This isn't even the first time she's publicly complained about people here on her twitter. I was completely prepared to leave all this behind me but now I don't know what to think.
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
@Astral-Grain I didn't specifically call out Kate. I only @ mentioned her because she wrote this article. It was to the staff and I was not singling her out. And as far as I'm aware I have been polite with my comments but I apologise if you feel differently. I don't know what abuse you are referring to. Why are you confronting me? I genuinely don't understand and I think there has been some miscommunication somewhere
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
@antdickens a reader survey is a good shout sorry for some of the ruder comments from others. People have struggle expressing themselves when they're upset and I think everyone's a little fragile in these times
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
