Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd June (North America)

@XCWarrior And that is precisely the reason why they have been digging their own grave non stop ever since they came up with the Wii U idea. They don't understand the wants/needs of their own fans. E3 2015 was heavily insulting to lots of people:

-Half assed Mario Tennis game nobody wanted
-No focus on Xenoblade or other more high profile games
-2 boring Animal Crossing amiibo spin offs that nobody wanted
-A Paper Mario entry that continues a trend people hate
-Heavy focus on amiibo/Skylanders nobody wanted them to waste time on
-The huge let down of Star Fox Zero

It seems that for every incredible game on the Wii U Nintendo made or funded, there were 5 terrible decisions to go along side it.

Now we are left with an e3 that appears to be entirely Zelda U related. Zelda U better be the greatest game they have ever made or Nintendo's next console will sell even worse than the Gameboy Micro.

@XCWarrior People want the game, the problem is many are put off from the fact that the game servers are no longer online, thus making games like Mario Kart DS/Metroid Prime Hunters purely single player experiences.

While both are great games, it is the multiplayer that kept them alive for so many years.

@JaxonH @Gamer83

I honestly feel that NoE have been doing the best they can with what's being thrown at them from Japan. Shibata pushing the first print editions/special editions in Europe plus the basic new3DS model show that they are more in tune with their audience then NoA are.

NoE also technically have more freedom than NoA do. NoA are basically a spokesman for Nintendo Japan whereas Nintendo Europe actively tries to engage with fans in a meaningful way (for example, bringing over Xenoblade Chronicles to Wii).

Nintendo UK, who are responsible for running the social media accounts, have next to no power. Due to the budget given to NoE by NoJ, Nintendo UK's marketing budget was at an all time low during the Wii U's life span.

They had TV adverts but were forced to advertise safe games like Animal Crossing, Pokemon and Tomodachi Life on children's TV channels rather than any major pushes with games like Bayonetta 2.

Nintendo Europe were the last to know about the 3DS XL, this is a great example of how Nintendo Japan are. NoE didn't know a damn thing about the product until the direct announcing it was being filmed (source: I speak to Nintendo EU staff every so often and get these stories over a pint).

@Sanicranfast - please refrain from profanity. Thanks muchly

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Fortress of Secrecy Needs to Tighten Security for the Year Ahead

Sanicranfast

Secrecy helped build up the hype for the Wii. Everyone knows that, the Wii was that huge thing that captured the hearts of over 100 million people.

However, with the NX they need to come out guns blazing with all kinds of news and announcements. Tell us the specs, the games, the rest of the hardware, etc! Talk about deals made with third parties.

They need to advertise the hell out of their next console otherwise it will do even worse than the Wii U.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Virtual Console Revolution Must Wait as We Pay Once More for SNES Games

For me I just think it's an insult that Super Mario world is £5.49 on Wii U but is £7.19 on new3DS.

They are murdering us with those prices. SNES games should not be that expensive in the modern era of gaming.

Where did the £7.19 price even come from? Why not just charge £6.99 or even £5.49?

And where is my cross buy? When I bought Mario World on Wii U I at least got an upfront discount since I already owned the Wii version.

Why do we not get the same discount on new3DS? The pricing is ridiculous.

Language please! (Jazzer)

Re: Check Out Plenty of Hyrule Warriors Legends Footage, Limited Edition Pre-Orders Open in the UK

@FullbringIchigo Nintendo have zero negotiation ground with UK retailers. ARGOS and Smyths Toy store stock their products fine for the most part, but Supermarkets avoid Nintendo products.

Go into any small tesco and you will see dvd, bluray, PS4 and Xbox One and nothing from Nintendo. Most stores in Scotland stopped stocking Nintendo less than a year into the Wii U's life span.

GAME are the only retailer willing to give Nintendo shelf space, which in most stores is a crappy island filled mostly with preowned games with more store space dedicated to skylanders, Disney figures or the LEGO game in general.
