@akaDv8R I doubt Sony gave developers any incentive to make games for the Vita. At the end of the PSP's life cycle, Square Enix were pretty much the only developer left making games for the console, which caused them to argue with Sony and Squeenix decided it would focus on mobile as a platform from now on.
Sony did get things like CoD Vita and Assassins Creed early in the Vita's life span. However, CoD was a pile of shoot 'em up getting 3/10 reviews and was heavily snubbed at e3 that year as a result. Assassins Creed was the first of many Vita games to get ported over to other consoles. Hell, Gravity Rush 2 and Tearaway are now on PS4.
@andrew20 Well, the Vita was released a year before the Wii U. That helps slightly. However, software sales show that Wii U is crushing Vita at the moment.
Of course it's not a healthy environment when you release a console with absolutely awesome games, refuse to promote it during e3 and can't be bothered continuing to support the player base by making more Triple A titles. Not to mention start porting over handheld games and making their sequels exclusive to the main console, thus defeating the purpose of a handheld console to begin with.
Vita was destined to fail from the word go. I've never seen a company half ass a console so hard before. I remember the e3 they announced CoD Vita with zero footage. We of course learned a few months later through reviews that the game was barely a 3/10, so no wonder Sony never bothered showing it off.
You can't sustain a handheld purely on indie crap that's available on every other console under the sun.
@KTT mega evolutions, while a gimmick, are crucial for the current battle meta. With dozens of hold items introduced gen 2 onwards that really tipped the scales of battles, there needed to be a way to ensure that not every team was using a hold item strategy to shake things up.
Mega stones take up the all important item slot that berries or scarves would traditionally take, forcing an opponent to risk a first turn KO/status effect in favour of an incredibly powerful stat boost next turn onwards.
Fairies were also desperately needed with how many dragons polluted the tourney scene.
The splatoon 3 pack was never released in Europe, thus I don't think this post is for us. Especially since stock issues were resolved in Europe for everything except Yarn Yoshi (the splatoon figures were heavily restocked at ARGOS)
@Nomad You have to remember that Game Freak are a completely separate company from Nintendo, they are third party. The only thing Nintendo own about Game Freak is the exclusiveness of the Pokemon license, as organised through the Pokemon company which is a joint venture between Nintendo and Gamefreak.
Gamefreak would sooner make more mobile games than waste time on the Wii U. Nintendo have very little say in the Pokemon license. At best, they can direct the Pokemon company to make more Rumble U type spin offs for Wii U and of course helped get Pokken off the ground, but for the most part can't force Gamefreak to do anything with the license they don't want to.
Thus leading to instances where the Pokemon amiibo do not function with any game outside of Smash Bros. ie, no Mario Kart or Woolly World costumes.
@Nomad Gamefreak have never been huge supporters of Nintendo home consoles. They see zero point in making a Stadium like game on Wii U for one very simple reason: -The 3DS games already have full 3D graphics, easily accessible online gameplay, trading methods, a way to link to the PC, etc. Plus most importantly of all, the 3DS has 50 million potential customers, the Wii U only has 9 million potential customers.
@Robo-Knight Because the Wii U has more processing power and mostly it just needs every exclusive it can get.
50 million 3DS owners against 10 million Wii U owners, so if Nintendo can't court the general public to the Wii U, they may as well try and get some of the 3DS owners.
The only 'fetch quests' in OoT I can think of are: -Mask Salesmen stuff that can lead to a few pieces of heart -Biggoron Sword side quest that is the lengthiest in the game -Bottle challenges, such as the chickens, Big Poe hunt, etc. -Gold Skulltula hunt (first 50 unlock all the prizes except one)
@G0dlike I was just pointing out that you were complaining about the stock of a small online store that only happens to stock Nintendo goods, to GAME and Smyths who have far more storefronts nationwide.
Did you at least ask your local GAME to order one in for you? Meta Knight was widely available a solid week after his restock not too long ago.
@Mommar Not really. That's one game when we were forced to wait 3 months for the Kirby Wii U title. Or the year we had to wait for the Persona 4 fighting game. Yes, we get nice perks in special editions and the basic new3DS model, but one game shouldn't make the EU situation enviable.
@russellohh You're confusing RUNNING GBA titles and EMULATING them. Don't argue about stuff you clearly do not understand.
The 3DS RUNS N64 games that have been ported to 3DS, it does not emulate them. The 3DS runs GBA titles in DS mode (which also could run GBA titles) but is not powerful enough to emulate GBA titles the same way the Wii U does.
The Wii U RUNS Wii games in Wii mode, by turning down the specs and simply making the system think it's a Wii. The Wii U uses it's specs to emulate N64 games. It does not emulate Wii games like it does N64 titles.
Running software and emulating an entire platform to run software are two completely different concepts. The Simple fact is, the 3DS isn't powerful enough to emulate GBA games.
@manu0 That's the way Nintendo want to do it though. Sure, the ambassador stuff worked, but it wasn't what Nintendo are wanting out of the GBA. They want to be able to offer save states and all that jazz, something the 3DS simply ins't powerful enough to accomplish.
Nintendo keep Gameboy and Gamegear games exclusive to 3DS and the Wii U gets GBA and SNES exclusively. They've said plenty times that this is the way things will stay. 3DS isn't powerful enough to emulate GBA and Wii U needs all the exclusives it can get right now.
@Charlosa Meta Knight wasn't actually really sought after. Smyths and GAME had a huge restock of Meta Knight and Marth last week (anywhere between 2-6 per store), so that helped solve most of the demand from collectors before Nintendo put their own stock up.
@outburst In Japan, the 3DS has sold over 18 million as of December 2014, of course 6 months have passed so it's probably closer to 20, if not higher by now.
The 3DS is Japan's best selling console bar none. The PS3 sold just under 10 million in Japan, for example.
In total, the 3DS has sold over 50 million units. This number was floating around from BEFORE the new3DS was released, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a couple million higher by now.
How many times does this simple bloody fact need to be said? The Ice Climbers have the AI of a player character and an NPC. The 3DS is too weak to handle 8 characters on screen at once (4 players playing as Ice Climbers) with all the other chaos that happens in a Smash bros match.
Sakurai has said as plain as day that both games will have same cast of characters, thus if the 3DS is too weak for one character, then they are not considered for the Wii U version.
@James_mussell98 They have to work with NoE for that to happen. Remember, games can have different publishers in each of the 3 major regions, thus NoA legally couldn't give away/sell codes for games they do not legally have the right to sell.
Every console store works this way. On Playstation, players have accounts for multiple regions to get around this fact.
Hopefully NoE will see it's success and decide to invest in it just as NoA have.
@zeldagaymer93 Or, we hate public voice chat after seeing it abused by all sorts of people after a decade of Xbox live. Public Voice chat for splatoon would suck heavily since most of the people playing are either Japanese, Russian or from an EU country.

@Yorumi If you want voice chat so bad, use Skype with your friends.
There's no point having Voice Chat in random matches because, well, unless you speak Japanese, Russian, German, French and English, you'll never get anything done.
besides, games are over so quickly that voice chat isn't needed.
@Killabyte28 It's hard to describe, but it short: it's fun.
There is a loveable charm to wandering around town, digging for fossils, collecting money to spend at the shop or on your mortgage. Fishing is nice and when you get to explore the tropical island it's just a really lovely game.
The music is excellent and the way the town changes depending on the time of year is also kind of magical in a way.
Best but not least is the villagers themselves. As your relationships grow with them you get some really funny conversations and when they are happy to see you, they can give you gifts or just say nice and uplifting things.
Also, even better is when the villagers start interacting with each other, the personalities clash so they can start party hat koala about each other behind each other's backs or throw parties for one another. Animal Crossing just oozes charm.
@PewnyPL Unfortunately, people who do this kind of thing for a living know how to disable those sensors very easily. Plus they'll have a network of at least one or 2 other people with trucks to transfer stock into.

Happens all the time. It's pretty easy to steal product off the back of a lorry when no one is looking too.

The original trailer at e3 said content could be unlocked from 3DS to Wii U. So you need to buy it on 3DS to get the content on Wii U.
Thats pretty fair, Koei are usually much worse with version exclusive content

Re: Nintendo Drops Out of Interbrand 'Best Global Brands' Top 100
I wish Nintendo released the Wii Virtual console titles as Wii U HD remakes instead.
Would have been an easy way to fill the release gap we have had this year. It also would have made the Wii U look less barren on store shelves.
