Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer to showcase the upcoming Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure DLC.
Players will embark in an epic battle against a vengeful Rabbid Kong who uses his new powers to take over a mysterious island. Donkey Kong and Rabbid Peach are present, alongside a brand new Rabbid hero, Rabbid Cranky, and these will all team up on a journey across four brand new environments.
As you can see from the trailer, we can expect to see a brand new island (where these new environments will be set); new ways to play (including an entirely new throwing and banana-swinging mechanic for Donkey Kong); and all the hilarious craziness that we saw in the original game.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure is set to release on the Switch eShop next month in June as part of the game's Season Pass.
Will you be diving back into the whacky world of the Rabbids?

Give me Daisy for the sequel!
Heck yeah
Can’t wait. Love it
The music is great
It looks like we'll be getting more content than I expected! Looking forward to it
Heck yeah, I'm in. If the map music hasn't got me in already. No I'm not gonna spoil what music it is.
More Donkey Kong ❤️
Man makes me doubt my purchase now. Wonder if they'll come out with a "complete" version of the game down the road.
I wonder if you'll be able to use any of the main cast as well. Admittedly, as a Yoshi fan, I was a little upset with how late he arrives in the main game and how little you're actually able to use him because of it (unless you saved all those challenges in the previous worlds, which, by that point, are a total cakewalk), and I was actually looking forward to properly getting to use Yoshi finally here but it seems that's not going to be the case.
Don't get me wrong, this DLC does look amazing, but for me personally, as somebody who isn't even that big of a DK fan to begin with and feels like Yoshi got a little shunned in the main game, it is a little disappointing in that regard. I'm still gonna play and enjoy this DLC either way though.
I'm all for this.
Looks amazing. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a blast to play; I didn't knew it was going to be so much fun when I bought the game.
Can.
Not.
Wait.
I was waiting for an official teaser like this before I decided to buy. It looks great. I'm curious if you have to use that team, they make it sound like you do. But still, it looks fantastic. A true surprise gem last year.
So is this one chapter or 4?
Looks good - how much is this?
@Yosher
That's a fair criticism, I felt that way too about Yoshi. You really don't have a lot of time to use him properly, then the game is over. If and when we get a sequel, I hope they fix that and the fact that there were almost too many weapons to use. I get that you want options, but it was generally impossible to get all the weapons, and there really wasn't a point to either.
@Paraka What makes you doubt your purchase? This is obviously a DLC as part of the season pass. I know DLCs are debatable but there was a lot of content in the original and if you expect devs to keep developing I think the $20 (?) is worth the season pass. Well, if there's more content than just this but I don't even know how many hours this will be? Another world similar to the ones in the main game or several new worlds? Too early to tell if the pass will be worth it. At least for me.
@Matthew010
$20, I believe.
@Radbot42 Well there's 4 already in the game. Right?
This looks great! Wasn't expecting Rabbid Cranky. Nice choice/touch, Ubisoft!
Rabbid Cranky Kong sold me on this now
Looks great! I've been looking for a reason to get back into this game.
@tseliot - Depends on what they do (and it's usually common). Usually, to stay relevant, games are re-released with all their DLC on-disc after everything is said and done. And as a huge DK fan, buying this game and then dangled a "rental" chunk of DLC with him in it isn't exactly something I go for, and regret purchasing cause there is a chance I may be buying the whole game again if the release it "completed."
They said it's about ~10 hours worth of content by the way
Off-topic: I love this site. It's what IGN used to be many, many moons ago. It's totally bloated crap now.
@IceClimbers Thanks!
@Paraka Oh, makes sense but I certainly don't have that willpower. Easily my second favorite Switch game, so far.
That music though.
I bought the DLC ages ago and forgot about this upcoming content. I did love the game, so this is great!
I really hope they have something new for the Switch this year and not just DLC 🙄
There is one of the 3 Ubisoft "AAA game" left to announce.
@tseliot
Agreed on so many levels. IGN is a shadow of what it used to be. Now it's just trash, really. The people who write for it just do a very poor to mediocre job. I don't want to knock anyone there who's actually talented at what they do (and there are a few), but the quality has really gone downhill. Their reviews mean almost nothing to me these days. I still like NVC though, but it's because the people on there have been around games for a long time and I'm constantly learning something new.
Good, one thing we already knew about that now hopefully won't take up time during the E3 Spotlight or whatever they call it this year. I imagine it might still be playable on Treehouse Live, but that's fine, so long as it's not in the main event.
@tseliot - It's definitely one of the better ones. I wish more collaboration was done more often for the Switch to have a plentiful catalogue of experiences like this.
Oh this is neat because I bought this DLC TEN YEARS AGO*
*approx.
I guess Rabbid Kong took that fall caused by Rabbid Peach personally... if this campaign is really around 10 hours, I hope you can recruit more characters than the first three shown. DK is probably the can't-drop hero for this, considering the context actions for him.
@IceClimbers That is a lot of content, almost half of the game again. May I ask where you saw it said 10 hours?
I bought the season pass soon after I bought the game. After seeing this, I am not disappointed! Can't wait for a new adventure. This is my favorite game on the Switch.
Its taking SO LONG
I want it just for the music.
@Kiz3000 Interview about the DLC, it's in video form on Ubisoft's Youtube channel.
They had a decent sale on the digital game and Gold Version when I checked the eShop last week (not sure if it's still up now), as someone who has the physical cart I hope they'll put the season pass up for a discount alone at some point, this looks great!
@Kiz3000 The base game has way more than 20 hours content.
@MoonKnight7 Maybe I won't get this straight away then - I was hoping to spend MyNintendo Gold Points on it, but only have £6.49 in coins. I'd rather save for Octo Expansion.
@chardir @Grumblevolcano Cheers. Watched now and it looks incredible.
I should clarify my statement. According to HLTB the base game of M&RKB has 20 hours worth of content, meaning how long the story is without searching for everything.
I am really excited for this new content and ... we don't have to use MARIO in every single party layout! Yes!!!
Great job on Ubisoft on actually making DLC AFTER the game is finished and shipped... no one can say that this was held back on purpose given long development cycle. Nice work releasing real DLC!!
After DK.. It's Wario and Waluigi's turn. They will make great additions to the game.
@NintendoFan4Lyf The Ultimate Challenges are designed to make people hate video games and/or become irrationally angry. The rest of the game is lovely, though.
Very happy this game is getting meaty extra game content. Love, love, love MARIO+RABBIDS: KINGDOM BATTLE!
This is one of my favorite games for the Switch and I will definitely be getting into this new chapter. I hope it is designed for the high levels that your characters have reached at this point. If they don't, I'll just have to start a new file and play it on the new one I guess.
I really was hoping they would put the PvP battles online, and I'm not sure why they haven't really...
I'll buy this without hesitation (I'm obsessed with both DK and Mario + Rabbids). I'm a little nervous that the island may be fairly small and only get you a few more battles. For the price, I was really hoping for something close to a new campaign. I guess I'm spoiled by Hyrule Warriors and MK8.
@memoryman3 I have to ask, and I know it's a long shot, is your username a reference to Bob Mortimer's Athletico Mince??
@Kiz3000 I imagine the DLC breaks down in a similar way, 5hrs story +5hrs extras
Wow! It seems like I’ll be getting more than what I bargained for. I thought the DLC was going to be a few levels, and not whole worlds and different playstyle (i.e. with DK instead of Mario). Really excited for this!
Picked up the Mario + Rabbids Gold Edition for $50, so I'll be playing this... eventually.
Times like this makes me think that I should focus more on my backlogs, especially for games I haven't played yet like this one. I been sitting on it since the holiday season.
My hope is that they make “+Rabbids” into a franchise and make a Zelda+Rabbids. I want Link, Zelda, Impa and others fighting Gannondorf and ultimately RabbidGannon. Weapons being Bow, Bombs, Swords and hookshots. Magic and warp whistles.
Very much looking forward to the expansion as I loved the main game. I will be investing many, many perk points into upgrading Rabbid Cranky's Team Pogo (please be a thing...) Also, any word if Grant Kirkhope is doing the new music? Or maybe David Wise? Either one works.
Looking forward to this.
Haha Rabbid Cranky is awesome.
Hel yeah, this is wat i want!
Wow looks great! Donkey Kong is Battle King!
Excellent. I was just thinking about when the DLC would hit
I was expecting one new world... Might be more than that?
I just bought the standard edition when it was on sale, should have got the gold edition
I pre-ordered the DLC ages ago. It will be nice to get back into it. I really liked the game, but it lacks a lot of replability in my opinion. It needs something like Advance Wars had, with War Room or side maps that add to the game outside of the main campaign.
Welp time to get that season pass.
Awesome. I do wish they had a non-adventure option, so I could just play each level without having to explore them to find the next start point. One of my favourite Switch games though - so I'll definitely get the pass for this
@IceClimbers That is quite a bit of bang for your buck! Nice!
@memoryman3 We already have peach
I've yet to get Mario + Rabbids, but it's on my wishlist.
Also I'd like to note that it's funny how ever since DK Country Donkey Kong doesn't really feel like part of the Mario universe, yet he is still technically in it.
Looks great! This game made my fiancée fall in love with gaming, so I have a genuine reason to get this DLC.
Looking good! I am not that far in the base-game though, its pretty hard.
How much is it going to cost ? I can't seem to find anything online
