I'm fighting the urge to play TotK, I want to wait until I get the Switch 2, but there's something about the warmer weather that wants me to jump into an open world game.
I'm also playing Metroid Prime Remastered and some Mario (Odyssey and/or 3d World). Plus my wife and I are making our way through Overcooked 2, some of these levels are much more difficult than the first game.
I picked up Bravely Default 2 during the Black Friday sale, so I'll be putting time into that game. I also picked up Ultimate Alliance 3 on sale, I'm enjoying it so far. Not as good as the first, but still enjoyable.
I'll be joining most of the readers of the site, and be playing Metroid Dread. I only played a bit so far and I'm enjoying it. If I get any other time to play, I want to get back to Castlevania Advanced Collection.
I love Pacman, so no surprise I love this game. Its got that "just one more run" appeal to it. Can you unlock themes and emblems or are they only available for purchase?
I picked up Stikbold! Dodgeball Adventure! and what a hoot. The story is really well done and the game play is just wacky and fun. I am also diving into Blossom Tales. I like the Zelda vibes and the story is interesting too...it's like Zelda meets The Princess Bride.
I have been playing this game nonstop since it released. The career mode is definitely the highlight of the game. For instance, a wrestler asked me to join a union so we can get better pay. I agreed, we formed a tag team, and won the tag titles. The promotion owner asked who was responsible for the union talks, I blamed my tag partner, he got fired, and I got my title stripped from me.
The amount of crazy things that can happen in this game is unbelievable.
@aaronsullivan oh I love Slayin' 2! It's a great game to play with my 5 year old. He takes the knight, while I take the mage. It's a lot of fun. In fact it's one of my most played games of 2020.
I absolutely love this game. The level design is brilliant, and the puzzles are well done. For instance, you're taught how to use a new skill that you earned, through a a very simple puzzle. But as you progress, you'll need to be creative with how to use your skill to solve a puzzle. Why it's brilliant, because you just get it, because you get the basics down, you can apply the skill in new ways. It's so well done.
I had the same experience with online play, waited forever for others to join. It is a shame that this isn't cross play, I suspect this will do well on the Xbox, because it's on Game Pass, but will fizzle on the Switch.
Animal Crossing - just like every day, why should the weekend be any different? Lol
I'm also hooked on Slayin 2. The game seems pretty simple at first, then you get to the difficult bosses...it's much deeper than what it appears on surface. And I love the art style too.
I'm also doing more behemoth hunting in Dauntless. I love the look of my character in the game.
@Crono1973 no, the voice acting is Japanese, and it's really well done.
I like that they changed the first one a bit and added multiple ends, the second one had multiple endings and they kept it that way. You can also change up the art style to play it like the original art.
There's also a New Game + available after you beat the game.
The battles feel epic, and unlike some other SRPGs, if you make a mistake, it doesn't mean that you'll lose the battle.
I love the characters in both games, and started to get attached to the characters.
@ObsidianEleven this is how I feel about games that are free to play and do the microtransactions correctly, I'll spend money on these games to support the devs. I dropped $30 on Dauntless because I like where they are going with the game, and want to support them continuing to improve the game.
I felt that once you made through the tutorial, the game opened up a bit more. There are quite a few quests to go on.
The thing that I really liked about the game is that you don't have to spend as much time prepping for a hunt like you do in MH. I also like how the game scales the monsters based on your party, this allows a player to find matches much more quickly. In MH, once I started to fall behind my friends, it was hard for me to find any of my friends wanting to help me on my missions, it didn't make sense, from their progression, to join me.
I've been waiting for Dauntless to come to the Switch, and it's really fun. I like that it's similar to Monster Hunter, but not as intense or as focused on pre-planning your hunt. It's easy to jump in for an hour or two to do some hunting. And it's free! And it's not one of these games that you feel you'll only get something out of it if you pay money. Although, I did buy a special bundle in the game. I wanted to support the devs, and I felt that I would have easily spent $30 on this game.
I've been really digging EarthNight, it's one of those games where I tell myself, "I can do better on my next run!" It's an addictive arcade style/roguelite game. The game is beautiful and the music is very well done too!
Link's Awakening, the art and music is superb. Sayonara Wild Hearts - another game that I'm in awe of the artwork and music. The game takes basic concepts and makes them feel fresh. This game seemed to come out of nowhere!
Much like a lot of others here, I'll be playing Astral Chain. On was on the fence about it at first, but now I'm all in. Great game! I also hope to get in Fire Emblem 3 Houses and Telling Lies.
I did play some Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom this morning. That is a spectacular game, the music, detailed artwork, what a masterpiece!
I'll be playing more Songbird Symphony, what a cute and meaningful game. The music is great, the story is well written, the game is challenging but not punishing. I really am enjoying the game.
I also hope to get another game or two of Super Mega Baseball 2 in as well. I didn't like the game on the Xbox one for some reason, but I'm really enjoying it on the Switch. Maybe because it has a classic Nintendo feel, maybe because it just controls better on the Switch? I don't know, but I'm loving it!
Chiki-chiki boxy pro wrestling. The game is actually a lot of fun! It's easy to play and while the customization isn't as deep as WWE games, it has enough to make the game interesting. I wish there were more people playing this online, I want to win some belts!
Also, I'll be playing some Mario Maker 2. I haven't built a lvl yet, just enjoying playing through the story lvls right now.
@Ryu_Niiyama yeah good point. I just know I get disappointed when I have to be connected to the internet to play a game on my Switch. But this game does interest me, so we'll see.
This weekend I'm remodeling our bedroom, but during my down time, I'll be spending my nights as a bartender in VA-11 HALL-A. It's an interesting slice of life game.
I really want to give Yoshi's Crafted World a go, but my backlog is already too big. I need to control my temptation lol.
So this weekend I'll be playing some more The Princess Guide. I also picked up The Mark of the Ninja, which I'm really enjoying. And I've been playing Gems of War, a free to play game, which has some puzzle quest aspects to it, which is fun.
Finally I'll be setting sail again this weekend in Neo Atlas 1469.

The Legend of Tianding is one of my hidden gems from this year. If you're a fan of Guacamelee and Kung Fu movies, you'll enjoy it!
Re: Best Of 2021: "You Have To Rewire Your Brain To Accept The Absurdities I'm Going To Lay Out"
You may not believe it, but this was my most played Switch game of 2021 (40 hrs and going). I really love this game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 16th)
@shiryu - Happy birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm going to be playing some Gleylancer, they made the best shmups in the 90s!
I'm also into Knockout City, although I just started and I'm still learning. If anyone else plays that, let me know.

@NickDaddyCool if they came out with a Ms Pacman theme, I'm totally buying it!

@Hero-of-WiiU it's $15.99 (USD) right now, as an intro sale price. It's normal price is $20.

Immortals Rising - I'm really loving this game! I'll have to return to BotW after I'm done with this one.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 24th)
I'm playing Undead Darlings, and I have to say, it's a really fun game. The writing has some crude humor, but other than that, it's enjoyable.
And since it's double xp weekend, I'll be putting in some time into Rocket League.
Have a great weekend everyone!

MO: Astray is also releasing this week...today in fact. The game is a really good puzzle platformer that has an intriguing mystery as well.
Re: Get Ready For Cyberpunk RPG Action With This Dex Story Trailer
I don't know if they still have the deal going, but if you purchase Dex you get Akane for free (which I'm enjoying a lot).

Streets of Rage 4. My goodness, what a beautiful looking game.
Other than that, I'll be playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - March 2020
La-Mulana 1 & 2 are fantastic! And I'm really digging Good Job!

I'll be playing Dauntless on the Switch. With the Saint's Bond event going on, I need to grind and kill a bunch of behemoths to get my weapon skins.
Speaking of events, the last CTR Grand Prix is going on, and I'll be participating in that as well.
Finally, I'm making my way through Children of Morta. What a fantastic game! A sleeper surprise for sure!
Have a great weekend everyone!

This weekend I'll be playing Creature in the Well. If you love pinball and RPG action games, this game is right up your alley. I'm really loving it!

Some AC 3, for the flaws that it has, I'm still really enjoying the game.
And I'll continue my journey through the 100 lvls of Super Mario Maker 2.

Cadence of Hyrule...I wasn't sure if I'd like this game, and to be honest, I don't like it...
I LOVE it! Omg, the music is fantastic, the art is superb, and the level design is really good.
I'll also be playing some more Hallow Knight. I still haven't beaten it.
Re: Indie Developer Shares "Bad News" About Publishing On Switch, After Pitching His Game To Nintendo
Wait...he worked on the game for one hour a day!? Most devs I know put several hours in every day on their game.
Heck I put in several hours a day on my podcasts, writing articles for the site, editing, networking.
If it's something you're passionate about, putting one hour a day isn't enough, being successful means putting in hard work.
Re: Indie Developer Shares "Bad News" About Publishing On Switch, After Pitching His Game To Nintendo
That's not true at all. One of my good friends self publishes games on Switch with no problem.
Re: Hands On: DC Universe Online Is Paving The Way For MMOs On Switch
@Ryu_Niiyama yeah good point. I just know I get disappointed when I have to be connected to the internet to play a game on my Switch. But this game does interest me, so we'll see.
Re: Hands On: DC Universe Online Is Paving The Way For MMOs On Switch
@Ryu_Niiyama well maybe infrastructure will be better, it's hard when you don't live in a bigger city to find access to good WiFi outside of the home.
Re: Hands On: DC Universe Online Is Paving The Way For MMOs On Switch
@Cosats yeah I guess if you live in areas that offer better wifi. I just don't have access to WiFi a lot outside of my home where I live.
Re: Hands On: DC Universe Online Is Paving The Way For MMOs On Switch
@frogopus I do like DAoC myself. Maybe it's just me, but I don't always have access to WiFi outside of my home.
Re: Hands On: DC Universe Online Is Paving The Way For MMOs On Switch
Do people really want MMOs on the Switch? Won't it defeat the purpose of being a mobile system, if I can't play the game anywhere without WiFi?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 25th)
@dugan I really like Dig World 1 & 2 and Heist as well. While SteamWorld Quest is my favorite, they all rank right up there for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 25th)
This weekend I'm remodeling our bedroom, but during my down time, I'll be spending my nights as a bartender in VA-11 HALL-A. It's an interesting slice of life game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 25th)
@dugan I am really enjoying SteamWorld Quest, probably my favorite SteamWorld game.
Re: Image & Form Is Preparing "Something Special" For Next Week
I am really enjoying SteamWorld Quest, probably my favorite SteamWorld game, although, they're all really good.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 30th)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 23rd)
This weekend I'll be sailing the seven seas in Neo Atlas 1469. I'll also be working on my wife's farm in Stardew Valley.
