Today starts my week long vacation! And what better way to spend that time than going out into the wild hunting for Pokemon! Does anyone know, if you want to play two players, can the second player jump in at anytime?
@Moroboshi876 yeah you can always keep track of the number of times you hit start. I'll have to try Ikari Warriors again to verify if the "start" button works.
It's a great collection, anyone that loves retro arcade games would love this game.
@Moroboshi876 yeah, that would have been a cool feature to add. I beat the arcade version of P.O.W. the other night, but I don't know how much I spent on it lol. I think the only one I don't remember having the ability to "add more quarters" was Ikari Warriors, I'll have to check again.
@NESlover85 you're welcome. It is cool that you have both options; since I owned or played most of the console versions, I find myself playing the arcade versions more often, but I tried both versions of the games in this collection.
@NESlover85 You can keep hitting the plus button to continue (aka adding quarters). I wish they would have had a stat showing how many quarters you plugged in to beat the game.
The "adding quarters" only works with the arcade version of the game though, as you can't add quarters in the console version. Having both versions really does feel like you are getting two different games.
I'll be playing Splatoon 2, I totally forgot about the Splat Fest, I'm excited to play that this weekend.
I'll also be playing more Crayola Scoot. I am really enjoying this game. I was a huge fan of the original Tony Hawk series, and this game reminds me of that game.
Finally, I'm hoping to get some time to swing around in NY as Spiderman.
My fondest memories we're with Mario Party 8 on the Wii. My wife's friends have moved away, but we'd try to have a get together over winters and play Mario party into the late hours - there was much yelling and bragging going on, but it was all in good fun. We still bring MP 8 out when we have get togethers with our friends.
I played the 3ds version, not going to lie, I was super freaked out... don't play this game with earbuds on... actually you should play this game with earbuds on...but it'll freak you out.
Tricky Towers - I really love a good Tetris game, and this game is great for scratching that itch. My only gripe is that you can't just play online with your friends, it seems like it randomly selects your opponents online...but I'll probably play more local couch play anyway.
Spiderman, Forza Horizon 4, and some Area of Valor.
I agree with @Shiryu if you haven't played Jettomero Hero of the Universe, you really are missing out of a unique experience. If you like comic books or old school sci find stories, you'll love this game.
The Gardens Between. I haven't played a game like this, it's really well done. I absolutely loved this game, it's one of those games that you want to talk to others about after you finish it.
Octopath Traveler - I got through Chapter 1 for all the characters, now going back and completing the side quests that I can (The frost giant will have to wait). Then grind until I'm high enough level for chapter 2.
Then some Deads Cells as well. God this game is addicting.
I picked up Hand of Fate 2 as well, so I'll dabble in that too.
@Mrtoad yeah this game looked really good, thanks! I'm in the same boat, Octopath Traveler is taking a lot of my time (along with life duties). Definitely a game I'm going to be picking up in the near future.
Octopath Traveler. I'm 10 hours in, I've just gotten my 6th character, so I'm grinding to get him (Alfyn) up to a higher lvl so I can take on his boss. My main is Primrose. She's lvl 15 right now.
I'm really hooked on the game. It brings back memories of playing Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy games. I've always loved RPGs, but haven't been hooked on a game recently. There's something magical about this game. It's in my top 3 favorite games of all time.
I've played this on PS4, it's a fantastic game. The boss fights are really fun! I will say, there was some dialogue that made me say "What!?!" in shock. But overall I really enjoyed this game.
@damo I'm loving Galak-Z on the Switch. Do you know how to participate in the wormhole event? I'm lvl 12, but I still haven't beaten the game. Do I need to beat the game to participate?
I guess I'm in the minority here; I'm really enjoying this game. I do the bot battles, the daily challenges, getting upgrades from dark bots, and then playing the mission. They also have special events, like this wormhole event coming up, where you can get unique bots and upgrades.
I haven't spent any money on the game, and I haven't felt like I had to. Completing daily missions, completing achievements, leveling your character, and competing in bot battles has given me enough game currency to upgrade my ship and buy bots.
Personally I think it's a great game for someone that wants to be able to jump in and play for an hour here or there.
I have been playing this game, and I've enjoyed it. I've been doing the daily missions to get the green gems. Which means there is some grinding to the game, but honestly, the levels are short enough, so it doesn't really bother me. It's pretty fun and playable in small chunks of time. The writing is pretty funny too. Cheesy but funny.
I have so much to play. Animal crossing New Leaf, Mario Odyssey, Stardew Valley and started Saturday morning RPG. I'm not what I think of Saturday morning RPG, it's ok, just not your traditional rpg.

Re: Review: SNK 40th Anniversary Collection - A Lovingly-Assembled Retro Anthology That Hits The Right Notes
@madmatt213 that theme song is awesome! It's the first arcade game that included a vocal track.
Re: Review: SNK 40th Anniversary Collection - A Lovingly-Assembled Retro Anthology That Hits The Right Notes
@Moroboshi876 I didn't have a problem with the emulation...but I'll admit I'm a tolerant player...I grew up with the Atari as my first system lol.

Diablo III in the Switch and RDR2 on PS4. Man, it's a great time to be a gamer!

Super Dungeon Tactics - this is a great tactical RPG, the devs incorporated some really interesting mechanics in this game. I'm really enjoying it!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 8th)
Dead Cells and Into the Breach on my Switch. Spiderman on PS4.
Then I have to play Alan Wake and Uncharted 3, as part of a mini series we're doing for our podcast.

Octopath Traveler, Dead Cells, and Galak-Z. Some of the best gaming I've ever had.

Octopath Traveler and Sleep Tight. Maybe Overcooked 2 if I have time.

@damo I found the wormhole event, I didn't realize I needed to scroll up past the main game missions.
I played some of the event for Galak-Z, and got my butt kicked lol.
I'll also be playing Splatoon 2 and Octopath Traveler. I like jrpgs, but this game is really special.

Re: Nintendo Still Has More To Share On Switch Online Before Launch
It's a relatively cheap service, so I'm already planning on buying the service.
I think Nintendo could really do something great with the service. I'm hoping that's the case.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
@Tyranexx I really like Ever Oasis too. I agree, it's too bad more people didn't play this game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Miles and Kilo, Stardew Valley, and Hyrule Warriors.
Re: Review: Miles & Kilo (Switch eShop)
This game is really fun and challenging. Seriously one if my favorite platformers, this game is the reason I bought a Switch.
Re: Kid Tripp Successor Miles & Kilo Will Jump Onto Switch Next Month
This is the whole reason I bought a Switch!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Bloodstained - my second favorite"Castlevania" game (Super Castlevania is my favorite). Ok so it's not really a Castlevania game, but it's great!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Hyrule Warriors, Splatoon 2 (Team Donnie) and Death Road to Canada, which I'm reviewing on our podcast.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
I have so much to play. Animal crossing New Leaf, Mario Odyssey, Stardew Valley and started Saturday morning RPG. I'm not what I think of Saturday morning RPG, it's ok, just not your traditional rpg.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Pinball FX3, as I'm partaking in the NL tournament. My name is Rogue in the leaderboard.
I hope to get some Mario Odyssey in as well and I picked up Saturday morning RPG, which I wanted to stream this morning, but got up too late lol.
Re: Event: The First Official Nintendo Life Pinball FX3 Tournament
I'll join in. Sounds fun!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Mario Odyssey. Enjoying the game so far. I also got Streets of Red, so I will be playing that at some point.
