Re: Mario Kart Tour Gets A New Year Update With RMX Rainbow Road 2

Roam85

Mario Kart Tour doesn’t suck. Admittedly at this point I think my wife has put more hours into it than I have.

The pros: New tracks, new characters, the remixed and alternate versions of tracks sometimes can be some of the most fun to see for the first time. And the patched in landscape mode really does grant you full control options. And holy crap that roster goes deep. And multiplayer is legit now, so that’s neat.

The cons: the pay structure. Zero permanent stages (I would actually pay for some of these at this point). Getting that deep roster either costs a lot of time or money/gacha mechanics to make it impossible to pick your character (though a basic roster of mario kart double dash plus koopalings is accomplishable pretty easily through just time and inevitability on the coin shop). And for such a deep roster, still no Dr. Goomba Tower. And let tablets that can get external usb inputs use stands and controls at this point to just go nuts (aaaand we’re also going to think of dragalia lost with this one).

But it’s a phone game. It rakes in regular money and receives regular updates, it’s only going to get bigger and better as time goes on.

Sakurai is a great developer and director and overworks himself and deserves a break.

Unfortunately that knowledge doesn’t stop me from really hoping to see a tearful Sakurai say he’s been told to do a third fighter’s pass and a new Kid Icarus (or even just an expanded port) and begging the world to leave him alone.

Re: Here Are The Switch eShop's Best-Selling Games Of November 2020 (Japan)

I like Hyrule Warriors a lot. I’ll admit, I like Musou games well enough (remind me of Gauntlet), so that’s not saying too much. Just feel like it’s a shame that despite an expertly crafted zelda tie in, really cool new divine beast gameplay, and overwhelmingly positive reviews it probably won’t have ultimate sales numbers anywhere near what my biased opinion feels it’s worth.

From the US and I went Japan. It’s rare nostalgia doesn’t win out for me, and I was very surprised it didn’t with this super nostalgic game (especially as the sticker on the cart was the same as the box essentially).

But I liked the japanese design enough they won my vote.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Talks About The Possibility Of More Legend Of Zelda Spin-Offs

@Retro_Player_77 time to nerd out with you about that list.

Just call Zelda II the direct sequel timeline wise to zelda I. It was meant to be that originally. No need to include BS zelda if you’re not including ancient stone tablets (which would be another direct sequel to link to the past). And no need to include any cdi game.

And since you put Link’s Crossbow training on there... that game overlaps with Twilight Princess, not ocarina of time. The bulbin designs from the shootout are twilight princess designs. The final boss is the full body dragon stalfos (you fight the head in the Twilight princess game, it’s the boss when you get the spinner).

Play harder into the real world parallels.
Right now the regions have an analogue for Tokyo, Kyoto, some Japanese Island region, Some Japanese Mountain Region, NY, Paris, Hawaii, and London.

When remaking generations, go hard into that. Be able to travel to Galar-lite in a Gen 6 remake. Add the outer boroughs to Unova. Give Galar a rival bonus region with the same pokedex but based off Manchester or Dublin or Edinburgh.

And for all generations that aren’t Johto and Kanto (which are geographically close), make new regional variants in the remakes.
