Not the best sale considering the age of most of these games.
Genesis collection would get me Beyond Oasis...
Fantasy Zone, Space Harrier and Thunder Force AC are coming home. Unbeatable Mexican prices. But still hesitant on which Puyo Puyo get, if any. Any advice?
I'm thinking about SEGA AGES' versions of Sonic 1 and 2, but I'm not sure if they deserve because I already have Mega Drive Classic Collection
I have 13 of those already and I think that is everything I want but could be swayed if this ever appears in Europe.
Might pick up Valkyria Chronicles 4 as heard that’s good (as a fan of Fire Emblem games)
@BongoBongo Yeah it's great, it has a pretty steep learning curve as it's full 3D instead of fire emblem's 2D plane but you can save at anytime and retry moves and strategies.
Ah yes, Switch Prices 50 - 300 % over the PC ones on "Sales"
I don't seen sonic racing and that's the one I was looking for, shame
Edit:
Nevermind, it's there but the game was already 350 mexican pesos prior to the sale.👎👎👎👎👎
I’m Hoping UK gets deals, US gets loads
@Gwynbleidd They were made by 2 different companies. SEGA Genesis classics by 3DT Limited, and the enhanced SEGA AGES ports were made by M2. Their programming and user interface has nothing to do with each other.
Does nobody do EU sales anymore!? 😡
I really want Catherine: Full Body, but not at £44.99 I don’t!
Genesis does what Nintendo also does.
@BongoBongo Of course everyone is different, but while FE is my favorite franchise, I tried VC Remastered on PS4 and did not enjoy it at all. Just saying - liking one doesn't necessarily mean you'll like the other.
@everynowandben I love both series, but I have to agree. They're only similar in that they're SRPGs. I like platformers in general, but enjoying Mega Man doesn't mean I like Sonic.
Having said that, VC 4 is a really fun game, and probably the second best in the series behind 3, which was never officially released outside of Japan (but worth tracking down and applying the fan translation). The original VC is also on sale ($10 vs regular of $20) if anyone wants to start in the beginning, but it's not as good as 4. I bought the original on PS3, Steam, and PS4, but will probably grab a copy on Switch to show support for the series.
I am most interested in Mario & Sonic At The Tokyo Olympic Games myself! I have never played one of those games before!
EDIT: Nevermind! That particular game just went on sale physically at BestBuy so my brother is snagging it for me! 25 bucks for that game is pretty solid!
@RCGamer
The sega genesis collection has a bit of lag. The sega ages collection plays alot better. It also has a few nice bonuseslike the japanese version and spindash on sonic 1. That said it does cost more and if you have it available elsewhere it can be hard to buy again.
@doctorhino @everynowandben thanks for the responses
@bstie1198 thanks for this info! I see there is DLC also - is that integral to the game or just a side thing?
If I see another one of these articles about "Amazing black friday deals. NA ONLY..." I'm gonna lose it!! I swear!
Come on Sega, real Monkey Ball now please.
@RCGamer for their current price, I’d say they’re worth it. They have less input lag (or so I’m told, I honestly can’t tell any meaningful difference) and the drop dash from Sonic Mania, which is so much fun on these games. Marble Zone went from being a pretty meh experience to a much smoother/faster play through, thanks to being able to cheese the level with the spin and drop dash
@BongoBongo It's not essential by any means, and it's overpriced compared to the sale of the main game. I enjoyed most of the dlc levels, and you get additional playable characters from the majority of them (many are from the original game, so it's a bit of fan service). I bought it because I'm a big fan of the series, but unless it's currently on discount, it's by no means essential.
BTW, the original game on sale for $10 includes all the previously released DLC in the base game.
Finally got Thunderforce AC and Lightening force
I will like to get my hands on Sonic Mania!
Now, do I use my gold points to get Sonic 2 on Switch, or do I save those points for something I don't already own on three separate platforms? Decisions, decisions.
I got Sega Ages Alex Kidd and that Genesis Collection.
Well, I went ham and bought most of the Sega Ages games, several I probably wouldn't have bought at full price.
But that's why they have sales: Sega would rather have some of my money than none.
No, they are terrible deals. 70% off I regard as a good deal, especially for older titles. 50% off more ones not too old and 30% off for recent ones.
