The lamest looking Fire Emblem game ever and one of the lamest looking games I have ever seen. And I used to be a Fire Emblem fan. Looks like something straight out Tencent... With the coming of Fire Emblem Engage, the series is officially dead for me. That is fine however. Fire Emblem Three Houses was a fitting end to the series, one of the best games ever made in my opinion.

@Ryan_Again @Ryan_Again I hope you are not thinking something like true "free speech" exists. No matter where you go there are always some sort of rules and regutions against speech, like no racism and other hate speech, spreading of false information etc.. So yea, not gonna happen. If Twitter didn't regulate speech, it would be like 100x more toxic than it already is... Though I think Twitter is good for announcements by gaming companies and such, stuff like what this article shows....

No, that explanation doesn't make sense or it doesn't even explain anything. The celebration should be that the games are realeased, not that they are taken away after the celebration is over. It's like getting a gift at your birthday party, but when the party is over, it's taken away unless you happened pay for it... 'oh it was just for birthday. What did you think? You though you could keep forever haha'

And what about the recent Fire Emblem release? That doesn't even have anything to do with the Mario's doom's day celebration. Yet it's taken away from the esop at the same time as those Mario games I believe.

Oh I remember once when I started playin Sin & Punishment on the Wii U VC and this almost drove me nuts.

I was looking forward to getting this game, but now I am not sure if I want to. I just don't wanna support crap like this.

Just updated before even seeing this article properly. And man I have to agree with all the complaints. It sticks out like a thumb in a sore eye... or how the heck did that saying go... Anyway it sticks out too much, not to mention it's basically an ad.

I liked the anime but that's exactly why I would never even thouch a horrible mock off like this. It would just tarnish my memories of the series. This is just stereotypical money grap license game who no one except the most blind fans would like. If they wanted to make a universally good Fairy Tail game, I think they should have followed the example of some of the best license games like Batman Arkham series and made it original content.

@Rafke You are the one who is ignorant and don’t know what you are talking about. While emulation (of hardware) itself is legal, use of software is a completely different thing. Software is owned, under different laws, by legal entities such as individuals or companies like Nintendo. I am just gonna use Nintendo as the example here. As the owner of the software, Nintendo has the right to decide the terms of that license they are selling (under applicable laws of course). License is the thing that gives other people certain right to use that software btw. Does Nintendo sell or license software to be used with other hardware than Nintendo’s own? I think you should know the answer, but answer is definite no. So unless you are running your own software on emulator or other copyright free software, emulation is, in fact, practically illegal.

Why do you think Nintendo and other game companies go out of their way to take down rom distribution sites and all kinds of fan projects? It’s because it hurts their business and brand and they have a right to do so. Playing games on emulator may seem harmless if you are doing it alone in your own world and there is not much that can stop you. However, what is illegal is illegal (for a reason) and sharing it publicly is like begging for trouble.

@NEStalgia I am pretty sure the encryption is just a modern protection measure for intellectual property rights, or enforcement method, not necessarily the thing that determines whether any kind copying is legal or no, though I don’t know for sure.

I don’t know what kind of licenses Nintendo and the like had back in the old days but these days it’s pretty clear. You can see about this on backside of Switch game boxes for example (at least in Europe) or in more detail in Switch system settings-system-Important information. In short Nintendo for example, clearly states in case of Switch “Any software in this console and any updates of such software (together “the software”) are licensed by Nintendo only for personal and non-commercial use on the console. The software must not be used for any other purpose. ... “. It is also specifically stated that you must not copy or modify the software without Nintendo’s permission. There might be some differences to this in local laws, but I imagine it’s the same everywhere where Nintendo is doing business.

@Rafke There you have it. Personally I respect and like Nintendo and other such legal entities as creators and think that emulating, copying and modifying their games without their permission is mockery to them. I do not actually know all the legal details and stuff, but I just want people like you to understand that emulating games is definitely not legal!

@Cathousemaster What you say makes no sense and I think it's because you are missaunderstanding the whole mess. Office Create is not the developer nor the publisher in this case, they are just the IP owner. Planet Entertainment is the publisher and 1st Playable is the actual developer studio. However this thing is just between Planet Entertainment and Office Create. The developer studio is left in the side lines since they are under Planet Entertainment.

Also gotta say Planet Entertainment is the bad guys here no matter whether they were within their rights or no. They just saw a opportunity to make quick cash and clearly has no respect for the Cooking Mama IP or Office Create.

Yea, I don't know what they are talking about, Bravely Second was awesome and I definitely liked it more than the first one. Maybe they could have made the "thing" more obvious to dumb people like me, but realizing it made it all the more rewarding, it was one of my favorite gaming moments of all time. I think it's kinda of insulting that they ignore it and think it's bad, even though it was good... I hope they come to read the comments here.

This doesn't even make any sense from DRM point of view... Isn't DRM build into the consoles and platforms like steam themselves. Why the heck would you need to sign into a different account just to play single player or local multiplayer game... Most games don't require you to sign into a third party account to play the game you know...

Man I wish I already had this game, pre-ordered the Fódlan Collection from Amazon Japan, but they are only shipping it now, so it will take at least a week before I get my hands on this.... Anyway, I think I know which I will choose, and that will be the Black Eagles. Why? ...well because they have the prettiest main character of course.....

Pre-ordered the Japanese limited/collectors edition (Fódlan Collection) months ago from Amazon Japan. Hope the Japanese edition has english text option, otherwise the game has to wait a bit longer while I study more Japanese...

OMG, want these, these can make Switch handheld mode much more reasonable for me. One of the biggest reasons I almost never play Switch in handheld and why it is so sh*itty to play when I do, is those tiny sh*itty joy cons... As for the lack of those stupid gimicky features...well don't need them, never use (gyro, so annoying...) or notice them (hd rumble, hd what?, just a rumble to me...) anyway.

Well fun fact, I am doing my first ever own run of Super Mario Galaxy on my trusty Wii right now. Also I have nice collection memorable and lovely Wii games I could replay whenever I feel like it. Such a great console, the good old Wii. Long live the Wii! I don't play Just Dance though...

Lately been news about horrible working conditions in game companies. It's disgusting. It's good that there are news about these things so that other stakeholders can step in to hold them into account for their actions. If those greedy game companies won't listen employees alone, they have to listen if customers also step in to support them. Remember customers, if you know about it, don't let them get away with it for free. NetherRealms reputation is certainly ruined for me, and I definitely won't be buying Mortal Kombat 11 (well wouldn't buy anyway, since don't like Mortal Kombat, but you get the point).

@Nomad You mean Retro studios? If so, of course, who wouldn't remember... Though you seem to think that they are not making Nintendo games anymore..., but it is in fact a fact that they are making at least one Nintendo game right now, which is Metroid Prime 4.

That comparison picture between gameboy color and gameboy version is unfair, the gameboy color pic is all blurried compared to gameboy pic. However in reality, I am pretty sure, the gameboy color version is not any less sharp than the gemeboy version, I mean come on nintendolife, why would you do that.

Also it won't be worth 60 $/€ 'cause it won't be that expensive. Most likely it will be like 20€ eshop game or 40€ retail game or somethin. I mean come on nintendolife, why would you even make article like this (trying to desparately atract attention?).

But whatever the case is, I won't be getting this, just got the GC version for like 3€ for 3DS with the european mynintendo reward, and to me it looks pretty much like 10 times better that than this cheap excuse of a remake.

Totally agree, it's ugly and annoying, completely ruining the boxart. Makes you not want to buy the physical version, and if it is some hidden plot to make people buy digital versions, then it makes me not want to buy the game even more. Of course there is a solution to this in this case, importing. Importing is only way to go, and I would do it if I didn't already have this game on Ps3 (no downloads and box art is nice and clean based on the original box arts of the 2 games, unlike Switch version...).

Omg, I probably had this exact same glitch happen had happen to me like 3 times when I was playing World of light with Mii Swordfighter and there was battle against duck hunt dog. The game just crashed and first it seemed completely random. Then it the crash happened few more time and I noticed it had something to do with using side special. But since it didn't happen every time and I finally managed to beat the battle without the game crashing, I didn't know what was going on. Though thing to note is that I didn't have those same moves, instead of the shuriken I had the tornado thing and as up special I had hero's spin.

If Nintendo went all smartphones the way smarphone gaming is now, Nintendo would be dead to me anyway, even if it was to avoid bankruptcy. Though most likely it will never go just like that...

wow, didn't even see these news until now, and gotta say I am disappointed. No mainline Persona games are on Nintendo consoles whatsoever, not to mention Person 5, so why the heck. Now they better release all the main Persona games on Switch, since I am wanting to play them anyway. Otherwise I am already starting to regret the choice of buying the fighters pass early.

Seriously though, that German USK rating thing is stupidly big, it never ceases to amaze how it has to cover half of the box. The PEGI rating is sensible at least.

Yes. This is a problem for me too! I actually used to think Sony as good and humble company. For example I have a Sony phone, and I couldn't ask for a better one, so I thought...you know... Anyway this really does make me question Sony...

Whatever the case with this article, shame on Sony. I created my account on PC and have played on PC since then, I just linked my account into Ps4 since I wanted to test Fortnite on Ps4, and because of that, now I can't use the same account on Switch. I mean come on. That is pretty bad Sony, people will surely really appreciate you and buy your stuff more than ever before... Sure, there was some free Ps4 exclusive costume and stuff and I wonder if that is the reason to block crossplay, which would be weird since I can use those stuff on PC anyway. Well whatever the reason is, Sony shouldn't do that.

I really don't like the idea of the NES games unless you can permanently buy them for yourself. I just don't like playing games on timer or the idea that they are just a side dish for something I am paying for due to completely other reasons. But I don't think Nintendo even cares, I feel like they have been becoming more and more like EA recently...if ya know what I mean...

@BensonUii Yes! This has bothered me pretty much as long as I have read Nintendolife. Why can't they just include other major currencies that are used in the Nintendo gaming world...especially euro. I mean come on, UK is just small part of europe and they include that currency. I get it, the site is UK based that's ok, but euro and Australian currency should be totally included.

Many readers, me included are from Euro countries, and just because there are no native english speaking Euro currency countries, doesn't mean we are stupid and don't know english. In fact, for many european countries, like Finland where I am from, english is the only language for us play games and to get proper news on any gaming and tech and stuff like that. So yeah, point is again, please include Euro and others in prices (...though Euro prices are usually same as the US prices even though Euro is more valuable..which is stupid and kinda unfair for Europeans...)

@Lord I wish they'd port Monster Hunter World for Switch... And omg, how did ya get so many hours to MH3U, I mean pls don't spoil if there is major stuff comin. I mean I am around 100 hours in now and I was pretty shocked just from the fact, that the game didn't end when I beat certain 'big sea thing' (trying not to give too much spoilers to anyone..). Haven't done eny port quests and don't wanna, I mean this makes me worried, since there are so many good games out there I need to play, so I wouldn't want to spent forever with just one game.

I am playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and DiRT Rally on pc, and then maybe some Fortnite as filler.

Nooo, Shatoru Shibate left the post of president of Nintendo of Europe??!!!!! That's also huge news, he was pretty much my favorite guy from Nintendo that has been in public. Wonder what mister Shibata-san will be doing then.

I don't like dlc, there is always some sinister thoughts behind them, Nintendo or EA. Though as long games are whole and complete in the firs place, it's tolerable. In such a good case I just don't care for them or buy them, but if they will make original games more dependent on dlc, I guess I won't be buying the at all. I hope it never comes to that, but knowing humanity and my luck, it probably will, it's really sad... That's why I am preparing to give up on new games all together, because future has no hope...

Hmm...let's see, bad erconomics of handheld mode and joycons, barebone software, expensive accessories and so on. Other than that, I think it's great, and in the future when these problems will get fixes, it will become great for real.

I am gonna miss it, it was a only nice and unique social/screenshot/art place for nerds, and not just any nerds but Nintendo nerds..., now Nintendo is going take that great thing away... But I guess the costs to maintain it just must be too great.

Whyyyyy? Miiverse should not go away, I don't want to be posting my game stuff to some stupid mainstream social media where I am a nerd. Also Miivers is special, it has that special Nintendo feeling and the Miis are genius. Of course, that message doesn't mean that the Miiverse is going away right away, but as long as it's not on Switch, everybody can feel that it's slipping away. I wish it was on Switch...

Thanks to this I realised what was wrong with switch portable mode. Its just absolutely horrible to me, I can't just play swith on portable mode if it requires the left analog stick. Nintendo should really learn from this and make bigger and more comfortable joy cons for normal people.

In fact I have been plaing both games since the launch. When I saw this article, I had to comment, since from the beginning, I have thought that it's hard not to compare these 2 games, since in a way, they feel very similiar, but are still very different games of course.
Due to the fact that that they feel similiar, I have to say I like Zelda more and at first especially, when Zelda came little later, it felt like it started to overshadow Horizon.
Since then though, both games have been great to play, Zelda may be little better, Horizon is definitely great game with unique feeling and story setting.

Switch Pro is totally overpriced, so much that it's almost unfair. That third party controller looks really good option at this point. I hope to see a review here to see if it is worth a shot.

@Aslanmagic You too, haven't heard yet it being a common problem, but I also have Wifi issues with Switch, it seems to be really unstable, and lot slower even at best than what my internet speed is, which is about 90 MB/s and Switch get's only about 25 MB/s at best, but is constantly slowing down a lot, even though I have the router in same room

I totally and definately agree with all "valid"s and "fair-ish"s. Well said ones. Nintendo, please hear us. I would also add, "there should be Miiverse" and "there should be activity log". Switch is still great, but come on Nintendo.

Personally for me the gamepad has been just a burden or annoyance in games it's forced upon you, otherwise I always use pro controller or Wii controllers.
For one thing the gamepad has been amazing though and that is web browsing, that should have totally been in the poll.
